I would recommend Storrowton Tavern as one of the best restaurant choices in the area. I'm ashamed that I hadn't eaten there sooner! The atmosphere at the Tavern is so warm and cozy. There is a beautiful big fireplace warming the dining room. We went on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was very quiet and the staff was very friendly.

The food at the Tavern was extremely, extremely good! The filet mignon is tender, cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Their seafood is also very tasty and fresh; I would recommend the scallops or sole florentine. The portions are extremely generous, even for the always-hungry hubby. They also had a good wine selection.

This turned out to be the perfect spot to be on a cold december Sunday evening. Ok..so the average age of their clientele is around 75...and the restaurant is a little frayed around the edges...but its a cozy comfortable place....as "new england" as a restaurant could get.....service is decent....and the food was quite good. on the grounds of "the Big E"...storrowton serves up  a slice of Americana rarely seen these days. with the fireplace roaring..we all had nice cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere. the ladies each had  the maine seafood platter and both were happy with their selection. the guys had the filet mignon...my buddy had the petite..I had the regular portion. we were both very pleased...meat was tender and tasty...perhaps a little rarer than we might have liked but we were both satisfied. meals come with a salad....potatoes and vegetables. the salad was small but fine....the butternut squash was very tasty..ditto the mashed potatoes. I also had the french onion soup....way above average. nice thick cheese. prices here are very affordable considering what you get...everything is included. no room for dessert but we all had either coffee or tea. place is decorated nicely and the employees were all extremely nice and friendly. light years away from todays cookie cutter chain restaurants....its the real new england deal. more intimate than sturbridge's publick House...and quite frankly..better food.

We stop in early on a Saturday night and seated immediately.  Although I was concerned that it wasn't busy we had a very solid meal (not great) with solid service, hence the 3 star (not 4 or5).
My wife loves a traditional turkey meal.  She loved the turkey here and all the fixings.  She would rate this place a 4 or 5 due to the turkey meal.   I had chicken franchise which was descent.
I recommend the restaurant. It is a great place for traditional Americana meals.  But only descent.
