Super Sub

This place is great.

I used to live nearby, and anytime I'm in the neighborhood nowadays I stop by. This place has great, cheap, and fast food. Everything you could want when you're hungry, tired, or drunk (speaking with plenty of experience in all three). Shockingly good hamburgers, spinach and feta puffs, gyros, sub sandwiches, the works. Everything is made with care and quickly, and almost always a man named Assad is working:

He is one of the nicest, most friendly people I've encountered in the city, and he remembers my name and what I'm doing and even has given my friends an apartment listing when he found out they were getting kicked out of their place. All of this and the man works long, hard hours dealing with some truly unpleasant customers deep into the night. If you go here, say hello. One day I asked him what he thought was best, and told me to order the chicken pita. DO IT, it's so insanely good.

This place is fast, with incredibly hard working people that have to put up with a lot of crap (it's one of the only places open all night in the area), and they not only work hard but are incredibly pleasant, helpful, and good at what they do. So if you're nearby, by all means stop in and eat some chicken pita. It looks a bit of a hole-in-the-wall place, but don't be fooled: You will leave happy, very full without spending much money, and you'll probably have great conversation while you wait. I'm surprised to see some negative comments about people who work here being unfriendly, because I've been many, many, many times (again, used to live around the corner) and have always been greeted cheerfully.

This place doesn't get enough credit, and has somewhat of a cult following amongst me and my friends. Go here; and when you do, don't forget to try the chicken pita, and don't forget to say hi to my man Assad!

If you are eating here before midnight, there is something wrong with you.  This used to be my 3am drunk staple.  The people who work there are awesome.  They would let me bring my pit bull .. inside, so I didn't have to leave her tied up outside.  Health Code violations?  Oh, you better believe it!! With those hours.. what do you expect!?!?!  The pizza puff meal was awesome.

The man who runs this place is a fun, no-nonsense cook. He cooks delicious food to order. He fun, inviting, and he keeps the place clean. He also doesnt take sh#t from the riff-raff that run around this borderline sketchball neighborhood.

Be sure to tip this man and enjoy your extremely good hotdog deals.
