Gotta love the Surf Club: great outdoor deck, tasty food, and solid beer just steps off the pier.

They're not just a fried seafood emporium anymore: they have expanded their menu to include a wider and fancier selection of treats. More importantly for me, they are one of the few places in town that actually serves local fish.

Also, I got married here. So there's that.

Decided to eat here as we walked off the pier. Figured it was going to be a tourist trap, but was pleasantly surprised by the good food and reasonable price. Haddock Reuben was good. Kids liked their meals off of the children's menu. My wife didn't love the salad w blackened shrimp, but overall the food and the view off of the deck made it a solid lunch option.

So about 1pm my friend and I found the perfect table outside on the patio deck, overlooking the water.  The weather was perfect and the food came out quick, delicious, and hot considering it took us an hour to drive 22miles.... :-( we were starving!

Our server was polite and checked to make sure we liked our food.  The only thing that would have been great would have been a refill on my watery pink lemonade.

The restrooms need some work.  Too small, and no toilet paper, not good.

before anything the food was great but the server was rude not good at her job and messed up our order, but the fact that the manager said it doesn't matter of the service the waiter should get a tip and the tip is not based on performance of the waiter. and they should even get a 25% tip even if they don't give any kind of service i have never talked to any manager who can be this rude. from my experience in this restaurant i have learned THAT THE WAITER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. :( ....

My girlfriend and I arrived in Provincetown at about 3pm today and we were both very hungry. Surf Restaurant was one of the first restaurants we came across, so we decided to eat there for lunch.

We were able to get a seat outside. It was a little chilly in the shade under the umbrella, but not enough to make it uncomfortable (and we didn't ask them to close the umbrella, so I'm not going to hold laws of nature against them).

The food was excellent. My girlfriend got a chicken salad wrap, which tasted really good and had just the right amount of mayonnaise. I got something called a "Cape Cod Grilled Reuben", which is like a regular reuben but with haddock instead of corned beef or pastrami. Reubens are one of my favorite foods, so I was really excited to try this take on it, and I thought it was awesome. It doesn't replace regular reubens as a favorite, but it was delicious.

As a side note, I usually love sour pickles, but the ones they gave with our plates were so sour, I couldn't finish the second one.

We managed to sit outside on the deck even though it was a tad chilly.

    Summary:

Service: Excellent. Our server was super polite and very accommodating

Steamers: Excellent. I really enjoyed the huge bowl of it

Lobster BLT Sandwich: Terrible Bread- dry, flimsy and not at all tasty. Lobster- super fresh and sweet and I ended up just eating the lobster and skipping the bread altogether

All in all a pleasant experience, but definitely dated location/ vibe

Food was pretty good, but the mixed drinks were really watered down. Stick to beer and wine if you are getting drinks.

I ended up in P'town in need of lunch and this was the option selected.  It's right next to the main parking lot in Provincetown, so it's the obvious choice if you don't want to walk too far.  Course being the obvious choice, it doesn't have to have good food and it will still be packed.

It's an eatery on the water, on the Cape in Massachusetts, so clearly seafood is on the menu.  The Clam chowder was good; the clams with belly were nice.  (If you haven't had clams with bellys, lets just say they are different than the standard clam strips.)  When the lobster rolls arrived, they had a lot more lobster in them than we had any right to expect.  Was it a great lobster roll, well no, but it's almost impossible to have a bad lobster roll.  (Sort of like sex or pizza, when it's good, it's very good.  When it's bad, it's still pretty good.)

The Haddock Rueben sandwich was pretty good as well.  And the clam roll (obviously with bellys) was well loaded with clams fried up to the right texture.  About the only thing that was only fair were the scallops in the seafood platter.  They weren't bad, just fair.

Overall the food was much better than expected for a place so easy to get to in P'town.  For a tourist town, it wasn't overpriced either.  So not to bad a place if you need lunch in Provincetown.
