I think Sweetwaters has given up. Â I hadn't been here in years but I remember a glorious buffet with fresh and beautifully displayed food and awesome fruit and pastry and eggs and meats. Â When the hotel gave us a voucher for breakfast we thought it would be a nice place to meet folks for breakfast. Â Okay, we got there at 10:00 AM, so maybe the buffet was on its last legs, but it was kind of pathetic and clear that what was left was picked over. So, we ordered from the breakfast menu, thinking, How Bad Could it Be? Â As we found out, it could be pretty bad: pretty salty and cold and overcooked and not as fresh as I would serve to guests. Â The river is pretty and the servers are nice, but I'd rather let the voucher go to waste and have a nice breakfast than eat here again..
Review Source:View , View ,View and that's about it. Sweetwaters used to be terrific but now it is drab with out dated furnishings and just so so food in one of the best locations on the river in Eugene. This resturaunt needs to get out of the 1990's and give the residence of Eugene a resturaunt to be proud of on the Willamette River. The food looks great on the plate but not on the palette for the price tag....Its a no go!
Review Source:The view, athmosphere, and service were good, but the food inconsistent. For the house salads you can choose between poor quality bottled dressing, or "House" which seems to be pure vinegar. One of the dinners was great, but the other very oily. We ordered medium priced wine, and our total check was well over $ 100 for two. Â I would rate it "not bad" by Oregon standards, but not good enough for the money.
