In general, this Taco Mac has decent service at the ordinary tables, but I'm often coming here with big groups. Â If you come with a big group, AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
They only assign one server/waitress to a table in the group room (for a group of size 20+). The ordering takes 20 minutes alone. Your drink refill will take about 20-30 minutes. The food comes out pretty slow. Â My main knock is that they really should assign 2-3 people to a group that big, especially if they make gratuity a mandatory 18%.
Other than that, it's a normal Taco Mac in terms of its food quality and ambiance.
Ok, I've got to hand it to Taco Mac - I never thought I'd say this about a sports bar, but wow, this was an excellent meal (with equally good service). Â
We started off with the Sweetwater 420 Beer Bread Bites, which included a delicious creamy swiss cheese dip. Â The bread bites were yeasty, as advertised and were reminiscent of a donut in texture and consistency. Â Paired with the cheese dip... how do I put this... heaven. Â I would come back to Taco Mac for this alone.
For our entrees, we had the Double Decker Mac and Cheese Burger (minus pickled jalapeno) and a 10-piece order of boneless buffalo chicken with "3-Mile Island" wing sauce.
Okay, so... the burger. Â If you closed your eyes, and took a bite out of this burger, you'd swear it was from Burger King (not necessarily a complaint, because I just so happen to like Burger King's burgers). Â I'd have to wonder if the pickled jalapeno was really a key integral component to this burger. Â Anyways, though very tasty, the mac and cheese element kind of got lost in the burger.
The boneless buffalo wings were under-sauced.  Way under-sauced.  Nevertheless, they offered "swimming wings" or a side of extra sauce for another .50¢.  Though I'm sure this would solve the problem, I don't like being nickeled and dimed for something they should have done in the first place.  Still, this is only a very minor complaint.  Sauces/rubs offered with the chicken are as follows (in ascending order of heat): lemon-pepper rub, mild, medium, hot, 3-mile island, habanero BBQ, and death.  The little bit of 3-mile island that was on our chicken wasn't too spicy, in my opinion - maybe if I had more sauce, I'd get the full effect.
The French fries that accompanied our burger and chicken were seasoned very well. Â We held on to our remaining cheese dip from our bread bites appetizer to dip our fries into. Â Yum. Â
To wash down all of that food, I ordered one of the literally dozens of beers available on tap - as it was hot outside today, I chose a Kolsch-style - light and refreshing. Â My wife had a hard cider (which is absolutely amazing when on tap). Â I was very impressed by Taco Mac's beer selection.
Finally, our service. Â The waitress was a pro. Â She got our orders in quickly, tended to our every need, and was unobtrusive. Â Very well done.
Even after ordering a s'mores brownie to-go (which I have yet to try), the bill only amounted to about $50. Â Not bad at all for three alcoholic drinks, an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert.
I love craft beer, so Taco Mac is the perfect place for me. Â I usually try to go on Thursday's because those are "Pint Nights" at the restaurant. Â Beer prices are a bit on the high side, but there's so many to choose from that you can definitely find a beer in your desired price range. Â The food at this particular Taco Mac is great. Â I love to get their "Nachos All The Way" and share them with my wife along with some hot wings. Â Plenty of televisions broadcasting your favorite teams. Â Plenty of seating. Â Parking is never really an issue, although sometimes you're a bit further away than others. Â Overall I'm pleased with this location and I'll continue to come back for more. Â After all, gotta work on my Brewniversity degree!
Review Source:The pros: GREAT beer selection. Pretty decent menu and prices. Their homemade ranch is awesome!
The cons: Most of the time their fries are cold because they get extremely busy during peak times. I frequent here as it is next to my work, and I rarely ever see a familiar face in the waitstaff. The turnover must be a result of poor management.
I went to this location last weekend to take in some March Madness. It was my first visit to this particular location. I really liked the set up of this location. As far as set up goes, I think they have all other locations I have been to beat by far. In the main dining room there is no place you can sit that does not have a great view of at least 1-2 TV's. That is not always the case at most locations.
The food here was very good. I had some kind of wrap (I believe it was called the Southwestern wrap) which was very good. Some people in my party ordered appetizers (hummus and chips and salsa) which were all good.
The service was a little slow but I have come to expect that over the years from Taco Mac.
All in all, this was a great location and I will be back. Thumbs up for sure.
What they do well are the beers. What a great selection! Â There's definitely something for everyone, as well as some seasonals and specials. Taco Mac is decent as a sports bar, but we were just there for a drink or three. We heard the wings were the way to go if ordering food. Â We found them just okay. Apparently, different locations vary in quality, but this one seemed pretty average.
Review Source:This place is always busy! I love the selections of  beer and different "bar" foods. I wish their service was a little better though. Today for lunch I was in there and had pretty good service. I just hate the fact they automatically assume when 2 or 3 guys walk in the place together that they are all straight and want "perky" waitress. Give us some cute guys, too! :-)
Review Source:Well, I wish I would've checked yelp before this trip... I was not expecting a wing bar!
They have over 40 beers on tap, if that's your bag. Â There menu is fairly common bar food: wings, burgers, salads, nachos and a small Tex-Mex section. My SIL and I shared some chicken fajitas. Â First the portion size was quite large and the food was sizzling hot. Â They tasted pretty good. Â
So, by now you're wondering: why the heck 2 stars?
Well, the service was S L O W. Â We sat for 20 minutes after eating waiting for her to return. Â She was not peppy or interesting
 She mumbled at every opportunity.
I love their wing sauce. Absolutely love it. They have excellent wings and I always get mine swimming. Love the fries and the house ranch dressing is da bomb! I wish i could speak for anything else on the menu but I never order anything but the wings swimming in sauce. You will love it. I also like that they are open pretty late. I always come here after a concert and stuff my face.
Review Source:If you like beer, good food and watching sports, then this is the place for you. Â With over 300 beers to choose from, you're bound to find something you'll like. Â They're always adding new beers to try and if you join their club, you'll get rewarded for drinking new beers! Â Beer not your thing? Â Well, they've got a wide variety of Coke products too - way beyond the normal selections. Â Good selection of food - and I haven't been disappointed yet. Â Good kid's menu (mac n cheese comes with free Oreos) too. Â It seems every seat has its own tv which is great for football!
Taco Mac is a great place to hang out with friends or family and the bill won't put you in the poor house.
Came here for NBA finals. Was packed and a mixed crowd. We always order wings and Nacho. It's always good but this time they started charging us for extra hot peppers or sour cream for the nacho. Which was odd because out of all the times I been here they didn't charge me before. Either way we all have to make money right? Â Maybe it was because the server was having a bad day.
The wings are a little bigger and meatier then i would like but it's still good. The fries are usually warm to hot but this time it was a bit cold but it's nothing that you couldn't live w/o.
Always consistent that is for sure and better then most Taco macs around plus it's near my house so works out well for us.
This is a nice Taco Mac. They get good business here, that's for sure. It was beyond crowded on the night we went. The service was quick, the food was really good, and there's plenty o' entertainment in the form of TV's scattered all over the place. We enjoyed it a lot.
Too bad the one closest to me closed! =(
I'm new to the Taco Mac franchise (moving down to GA from Chicago), but my first experience at the one in Duluth was fantastic. Â
I went and sat at the bar and the bartenders were both fantastic. Â Very friendly and engaging, more than willing to talk with a new transplant to the area and give me some advice, opinions on good food, etc. Â I had a great time talking with my bartenders and will definitely head back there when I finish my move to the area so I can go talk with them again.
I went there because I wanted a good beer selection and good wings and this location did not disappoint. Â About 100 or so beers on tap, an additional 200 or so bottles (some repeats of course, but still) and some really solid wings led to a great evening.
If you like trying out new beers and love wings, I definitely recommend. Â If you plan on going more than once, sign up for their Brewniversity and get credit towards future beer! Â It's free (well, they get your contact information but no money other than the beer you spend there) and a good excuse to continue trying new beers.
I'm soon to be a new transplant to the Atlanta area and I already know that this will be one of my regular haunts.
TacoMac Duluth is one of the better TacoMac locals I've visited. Â Of course each has a vast, seemingly endless supply of what ever beer (yum) you could conceivably want; but this location is well maintained and staffed. Â
The wings here are outstanding. Â I've not really tried much of the other food, but I've tried a few burgers. Â I was not that impressed with them. Â Not attributing that to this place in particular, just did not care for the burger selection.
Overall, if your out and about with friends and are looking for a place to catch up over wings and brew, I highly recommend this TM.
Make sure you grab the Fiesta Chicken Nachos to start.
I like this Taco Mac location. The service is consistently good, the food is consistent, and they have all the other requisite Taco mac benefits (...beer selection!). I've gone in here at lunch time multiple times and I find this is a place I know I can get in and out of without going over time on my hour lunch.
Review Source:Of all the Taco Mac's, this location is probably my favorite one. Â Although Perimeter Taco Mac is good as well. Â The parking at this Taco Mac is easy and never have had an issue...probably cause it's up in the 'burbs. Â There are plenty of TV's and the staff is usually pretty upbeat and easy to deal with. Â The beers are plentiful and the wings are glorious. Â
If you are ever way up I-85 or Peachtree Industrial, it's prob the one spot you can count on to watch a game.
This is the best location for the best wings/beer place in Atlanta! Â The service is impeccable here. Â The wings are amazing, nowhere compares. Â I always get 3 mile island, sometimes swimming sauce when I need to be in fiery misery. Â The perfect spice, just awesome big n' meaty wings. Â The fries are incredible too and go together good with the wings. Â The other half of the reason I go to Taco Mac a lot is the beer!!! Â The on tap beer choices are one of the most extensive at any restaurant. Â Terrapin Ftw
Review Source:Best thing about Taco Mac - Beer selection, burgers, tex mex fare. Â Predictable and just right on the budget and the taste buds. Â But a warning to the innovative types, Â don't try to get all fancy on them by requesting a unique mixed drink or asking them to customize a dish with dressing on the side or something as novel as that. Â They will surely do their best, but there is a good chance they will goof it up. Â They will deliver their goofed up mixed drink each time with a smile, and eventually you just settle for what you got and enjoy the company that is happily drinking their tap beer and nachos.
Review Source:I came to this Taco Mac last night to meet up with some friends and watch Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks. Â This Taco Mac is located on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. just south of the Pleasant Hill intersection. Â If traveling north on Peachtree Industrial, the restaurant is on the left in its own standalone building. Â There's plenty of parking outside and it's big and spacious inside, making it a convenient destination to watch sports.
Most of the clientele were either Korean, in high school, or both. Â Well, this *is* Duluth. Â Most were there to watch the Finals. Â The Mavs supporters were quite vocal throughout the game. Â It wasn't until Chris Bosh hit the game-winning jumper that the Dallas fans were silenced and the mostly-silent Miami fans erupted. Â My tablemates and I were about evenly split as far as our rooting interests were concerned. Â It was an entertaining game.
I actually counted the total number of TVs in the main dining area and came up with 35. Â The restaurant has another room in the back, next to the bar, so they have even more TVs than that. Â This Taco Mac is a good place to come with large groups (there were several last night) because of the ample floor space and many tables that can be arranged together.
Like the Dunwoody Taco Mac, the Duluth Taco Mac plays the TV audio over the restaurant speakers. Â I like this because you can hear the announcers during the game. Â However, the speakers are not as loud or clear as the ones at the Dunwoody location (crowd noise may have also played a role). Â Also, Duluth Taco Mac does not have any giant HD screens like Dunwoody Taco Mac.
Service was good. Â Our server was always checking up on us and the manager stopped by at one point to drop some Dirk Nowitzki trivia on us: Dirk played soccer until the age of 19. Â "Can you imagine a 7-foot (soccer) forward coming at you?!"
Taco Mac never fails to satisfy my hunger! For some reason, I ALWAYS think it won't fill me up, but surely enough, I'm full by the end of the meal. Taco Mac will always be a place where I can come to with a group of friends and enjoy a meal together while watching some games on their million HDTVs so conveniently placed all over. You seriously won't miss a thing even going down to take a bite. The booths are big and gives you a sense of privacy and can easily sit 6 people. They also have been able to handle large groups as well in the past so props to them! This place can get LOUD. We went here during a Falcons playoff game against Green Bay, =(, and the place just erupted and boomed. It's a sports bar so they made the place with acoustics in mind it seems--it's a great place to cheer for your local teams. The place is also quite spacious which is a plus for me.
As for the food. It never fails to disappoint. Their burgers although not the most memorable, are always well prepared and satisfying. The wings are huge! A single pack (10 wings) with fries always leave me content and sleepy. The wings are usually a bit dry, but are fried just right so it's nice and crunchy. They are usually sauced unevenly as well which I wish they would add more sauce, but you have to pay extra for that. The sauces that makes Taco Mac stand out in their wings would be their Habanero BBQ and Three Mile Island. Their Death sauce slowly creeps all over your mouth but fails to deal the critical blow. You'll find yourself laughing at death wing after wing; I love spicy foods so this might be unfair, but those who don't deal well with spicy foods I would recommend against this. As for the rest of their sauces they're merely ok, though Hot seems to be a favorite among friends,
Their Nachos All The Way is a spectacle to behold. You'll catch yourself staring in awe for a few seconds wondering how to attack it. Make sure you have a buddy with you. Together with my girlfriend we took on this behemoth together, but I think I ended up eating 3/4 of it.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of their Spinach and Artichoke Dip is "unhealthy." Their dip honestly leaves you feeling a little icky. The first few bites will be enjoyable, but you might end up forcing yourself to eat the remainders. But, if you find yourself craving some spinach and artichoke like I do many times it won't hurt ordering it.. well, maybe your toilet.
Oh gosh, I almost forgot their fries. I LOVE their fries. It has that  distinct flavor that I look for in my fries and the fried batter is fried to a perfect light crunch. They're so good in fact that I prefer not to use ketchup while eating them. They go really well with the blue cheese or ranch dip that comes with your wings.
It's been a while since I tried their fish taco, but if I remember correctly it was just ok. If I had to rate it I'd give it 3/5 stars. I do remember it having a bit of a kick which I always appreciate in my fish tacos. Oddly enough, this is the only taco I've tried from Taco Mac, but I think it's safe to say judging from others' reactions to their tacos that their tacos are merely on par.
Despite the franchise being called Taco Mac, don't bet on getting the best tacos ever. Instead come for the great social environment they offer, great service and good food. This particular Taco Mac is located in the suburbs of Atlanta where the demographics mostly consist of families. So families will appreciate the spacious seating, friendly staff, friendly fun environment, and good food. As for the rest, it's still a great place to enjoy a meal with friends and loved ones. Their staff should get an award or something as they seem to deliver great service without fail consistently. It's great to come here on nights with big games as it really comes alive.
This has been the only Taco Mac I've visited so my review doesn't apply to the Taco Macs in other areas because they may be different.
I'm a repeat customer simply because I love their chicken tenders with honey mustard and their fries with hot wing sauce. Their chicken tenders are crispy on the outside and their fries are nice and fat which I love. I haven't tried anything else so I can't really account for the rest of their food. They do have a very very wide variety of beer which is good if you're a big beer drinker (I am not). It is a sports bar so all those stereotypes about sports bars and big groups and loud cheering, that's all evident which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's pretty big in size which is nice so you're not jam packed together and the booths are large and comfy.
The one con that I've encountered every time I've been here is the service. The servers are never happy or helpful, but always seemed stressed and rushed even during slow nights. It takes a while for food and drinks to come out and getting another bottle of ketchup or some more napkins means you have to flag down your server with hand motions and noises.
Overall, if you're with your talkative friends and are low maintenance restaurant guests, this is the place for you, but if customer service is your top priority, try somewhere else.
-A
I usually come here for work happy hours since it's close by and reliable service.
FOOD:  I always get their taco salad with a side of Ranch dressing.  It's not really healthy, but tastes great!  Taco meat & beans, tomatoes, and onions on top of a bed of greens inside a huge taco shell.  Or I get their Southwest wrap which is chicken, beans, rice, peppers, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes wrapped in a tortilla wrap with a side of  fries.  I usually get it without the wing sauce since the spicy sauce kills the flavor.
We like coming here because the kids can get a burger or chicken fingers and we can get wings and a decent beer. Smoke-free and LOTS of TVs for sports events. Very large selection of domestic and imported beers with a free incentive program to try all the different kinds. Drink the beer, get a t-shirt. Oh! And they now serve tacos! Even so, stick with the wings... they go so much better with beer.
Review Source:I haven't tried this taco mac specifically for the FOOD yet (something I am going to do in the near future) but we did stop by here to try out their extensive beer menu.
The only thing I wish they had was a DESCRIPTION of each beer. That might seem a lot to ask for but a pub in Athens, GA (called Trappeze) does this and it is a monstrous help in helping me choose a beer that would be suitable for me.
I like how Taco Mac has this brewniversity card that keeps track of all the beers you try. I think after the 13th beer or something you actually get a free t-shirt. The concept behind this is that you can actually earn a "bachelors" level, "masters" level, all the way to "dean" by consuming a certain number of beers.
I also notice that on Thursdays, if you order the beer of the month you get a free pint glass (while supplies last, unfortunately I didn't get one because they ran out---better come early?).
But in summary, I thought the service was top notch. I'd give it a 5 stars for service but there isn't a service rating soooo...yeah. The establishment itself gets 3 stars for letting me sample the ones I wanted before I ordered, and for having that brewniversity card thing going on...the bill totaled to about $35 for 6 beers (b/w me and my date).
Isn't bad, just wish I liked what I ordered.
I know that I can rely on Taco Mac for a late night bite to eat and a cold brewski. Â Having everything close at sun down in the Duluth area, Taco Mac will open its doors and invite you in when all you have left to go to is Waffle House. Â I love me some WaHo, but I don't enjoy smelling like grease right before bedtime.
Sure, you may not get the best service, but it's Taco Mac. Â The food is reasonable, and they have a wide variety of beers on tap if that's something you're into. Â So the next time you're in the mood for a late-night beer and wings, chili cheese fries, salad, or burger, Taco Mac can satisfy.
Different Taco Mac. Same Nuclear Wings. A group of guys from our church got together here after it turned out that the Three Dollar Cafe down the street went down the Great Disposall. As I've said on my review of another TM location, the ONLY reason I will go to one of these is Nuclear Wings. No, I'm not dead from the neck up. I really like these things! Ordered 10 and chowed down. Gave one to Pastor along with a double-dog-dare and had the satisfaction of watching him get quiet and turn kinda splotchy. Aside from the self-created entertainment, I found nothing else above average at this place. Average = 3 stars (barely).
Review Source:Taco Mac is great. don't let the name fool you. It's an all American eatery: for the restarant's history you'll have to see the menu :-) I have never had a bad meal here and they are reasonably priced. I've gone twice with co-workers and unless we've had drinks we never spend more than $10 for a meal. The servers are great and the WINGS. My goodness the WINGS. LOL, I highly recommend Taco Mac for Happy Hour or football.
Review Source:Beer, beer, and more beer. Taco Mac has over 100 beers on tap, and even more bottled. They're always rotating stuff out due to the changing seasons, so I don't think its possible to actually sample every beer they have - though I've always liked a challenge.
Currently, they have a variety of Oktoberfest-themed beers, so I'm happy as can be.
This particular location recently moved to its current building for greater capacity. Â I like this one because even though it gets busy, I don't think its ever as chaotic as the Perimeter and Lindbergh locations. In fact, I don't believe I've ever had to wait for a table.
Televisions are everywhere, so you can catch just about any sporting event that is on at the moment.
The menu consists of your typical sports bar food - nachos, burgers, wings, etc.
The quality of service can vary, but for a local, neighborhood restaurant I suppose that can be expected. Its not an abomination to the service industry, but realize that you're not at a Rathbun's or Sotto Sotto. The service here suffices for where you are.
Psst. They serve great wings here....
I am a fan of the T-Mac from my days in A-Town. This place has over three hundred beers to satisfy your belly. The wings are some of the best I have ever had in Atlanta. Wings are not healthy for you but sure tasty here and fairly good size. Â This chain is local to Atlanta so next time you are in town stop by and give it a try. Â I had a great time here watching the Superbowl between the Patriots and Giants. This place was rocking that night. Plus there is/was a waiter there that looked like Jack Black's son.
I disagree with everyone who spoke negatively about this place. On the other hand, I agree with the fact that I wouldn't make a special trip to go here either. It's in the middle of nowhere, but development is coming this way. The beer list is hands down the best i've spotted in the states. I'll go here again on my next visit to Suwanee, and will continue to do so after.
Review Source:I ended up meeting some friends here earlier today to watch Georgia defeat Florida (much to my disappointment). Â They had already been hanging out for about an hour before I could meet them and they thoughtfully had a beer waiting for me...
I swear our server looked just like Jack Black and we even took his picture because of the close similarity... the chicken wings were great and my Bud Lights were always cold and served before I really needed another. Â The crowd was fun and they have big TV's all over to watch sports from any angle. Â GO GATORS!!
This Taco Mac is a little dull. Check it out if you like the small town feel. Â The trivia livens it up a little. Â I wouldn't recommend making a trip out to Duluth just to check it out, but if you're in the neighborhood, it might be worth stopping in.
UPDATE: 3/14/08
Since my first review, this Taco Mac has stepped it up. Â They have moved to a new location just across the parking lot and cleaned up. Â The new space is large with lots of TVs to view the games and a huge selection of drinks. Â It's very similar to the Taco Mac at Lindbergh. Â I've upped the stars to 4 because the new location definitely makes a difference. Â The waiter we had was so friendly and helped us talk smack about OHIO State who was whooping on MSU. Â (MSU let them win.) Â Anyway, good job Taco Mac for improving your business!
