Typical of dinner restaurants on Pearl Street. Â They don't know if they are a bar or a restaurant. Â If you like boisterous acoustics, deep fried chicken satay, and poorly trained wait staff, then this is your place. Â We didn't have the sushi, but after what we experienced of the poor quality hot food, I wouldn't want to tempt fate.
The host/manager/owner was too busy chatting it up with women at the bar to notice that we had to wait for over 5 minutes for a waiter to approach us--we were ready to head down the street to the Brown Derby.
They really need a trained chef! Â The food was amazingly mediocre. It all came out way too fast, and the wait staff were understaffed, with no assistance from the owner/managers that we could tell.
We won't be going back.
Had very high hopes for this place...Decor is nice but you can tell it's not finished yet. Sushi is way below average, I admit Albany doesn't have the greatest Sushi options but the most important thing with Sushi is FRESHNESS. Went on a Friday night and got 3 different rolls and two were not fresh what so ever. Drinks are good and atmosphere is pretty chill. I recommend taking the trip down to NYC and give Nobu a try or pretty much any of the other hundreds of top notch sushi places so you can know what really fresh sushi should taste like.
