Tuesday is burger night. $4 buys you a turkey patty and bun. Any veggies are $1 extra. It was really tasty! Didn't feel like they were trying to cheapen it at all. The other food our tab,e ordered was also great.

    I've been here twice.

The first time was getting home late from a west-coast trip and looked for a restaurant open late during the week.  How crazy am I to think such a place exists?  We lucked out and tried Tap House.  Good choice.

Had a burger and double stout.  Partner had a kabob--me and Miss Finicky (no she does not read these reviews that I know of) both enjoyed our meals.  The double stout was great.  The server knew the beer menu which is good.

The second trip was to take visiting entrepreneur son for lunch and get his reaction to the beer list.  No snob he (but definitely an expert)--he noted the solid beer list.

Son had the burger--his fair comment was that it was a 4 star, but not the out of the world ones that you find some places.  I had the 'pizza'--chicken and mushroom with a drizzle of some mushroom sauce (good for some, not for me).

This place is solid as solid can be.  A good place for upscale bar food and the hours are near urbanesque!

Our second time at this restaurant. Went there with another couple. It was packed (Final Four weekend). My soup did not come and when our meals arrived we had no cutlery. 5 min later still no cutlery and our waiter is serving water to another table.

We asked to see the manager who never came (was told too busy)!

I know problems can arise but we will not return when the manager does not whant to know of the problems we had.

    You were warned!

5 star place for families to dine in.  Fresh local ingredients and they list out the local food suppliers in the menu.  Delicious Kobe burgers and they don't overlook it.  Crisp pretzel bun.  Real food in kids meals instead of processed junk.  I like the cole slaw as its not too creamy.  Celery salt marinated into the fish and chips batter gives it a kick.  Husband loves the beer menu which gives much info to help you select the right beer.  Can't wait to try the prime rib dip sandwich and fried chicken.

Went here for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed the food.  Tap House Grill had a great assortment of local beers that I hadn't seen anywhere else.  The burgers and exotic buffalo wing varieties were both delicious and the live music later in the evening was a bonus.  The service was friendly but a little slow.  Overall a great experience and I plan on going back.

This place is starting to win me over! The service is improving... And they have always had good food and good prices.

Hubby and I have been back a few more times and each time it's a bit better.

Go on Tuesdays for $3 burgers! They are delish. The turkey burger is yummy with a salad on top. I think it's $4 for that one on Tuesdays. We have gone back other nights, ate at the bar, went with friends, and ordered out to take home. I can't complain about any of those times.

I'm only giving 3 stars because I was so disappointed with the service early on that they have to "earn" those last two stars... We'll see of they make it happen!

I tried the fried pickles and pretzel appetizer, as well as some quesadillas. They were fine, but I think I'll stick with the burgers I love so much, and the beer, don't forget the beer!

I really like this place.  The beer is always new and different, they actually hand you a clipboard full of your beer choices.  And the menu has such a variety, everything from buffalo chicken wontons (my wife's favorite) to a great sausage and cheese plate that would make anyone be happy, filled with saurcraut, potatoes, cheese and sausages (trust me, try it).
This is definately one of my go-to places when I want to go to a bar without a dingy, dirty barlike atmosphere.

Food is always great.  Service has been terrible at times and simply friendly atmosphere . I have been there many times and would have rated it a 4 but last night was the kicker . Dirty plates were waiting at our hopefully cleaned table . Waitstaff was very poor , food took a long time, refills were hardly poured , check took too long to get paid!  Great food though!!!!

Delicious food, served hot by friendly, well trained servers.  Thank you Colleen.  You provided my family excellent service with a genuine smile.  Yes, we will continue to tell our friends and family to ask for a table in your section.

Came back here for Sunday football and the buffet with my friend and his wife. They live in the area so I tought I'd pay them and Tap House a visit.   Had a great time.  Bartender was very accommodating with quick and concise service.  Not too overpowering and not away for long periods of time. Just perfect.  Drinks were a plenty.   They have a fairly good selection of "3 Floyds beer" which I love.     Just wish they could bring in the "Zombie Dust", but then again I say this about every bar.   Standard liquor selection, but did not get a chance to try any of them as it is a long ride home for me (about 30 miles).     So had 2 pride and joys, water and some coffee for the road.

The food was ok,  standard breakfast food buffet style.  Had the pancakes/eggs/bacon.   They also had some wings at the buffet which were good as well.   The only thing I would suggest is(and maybe it was that day 12/2/2012)....but someone kept the door open which was making the food cold and we were cold as well.   Our cool bartender would close the door for us but someone would open it back up.  Jeezus. I'm going to have to take a star off for that.

But overall this is my third visit so I'm a fan,  Staff is very friendly and it looks like they keep themselves busy.  Bartender gets an A+(I'll let it slide that he's a colts fan).  This is Bear country!

I'm not sure where we went wrong the first time we went to Tap House. We ordered a couple of beers from the not-impressive beer list and the spinach artichoke dip from the appetizer menu. The dip tasted like warmed cream of chicken soup. We ignored it, but ate the tortilla chips and finished our drinks.

I've been back several times, mostly for large group events, and have never been quite as disappointed. There have been weird incidents -- the staff removing a tray of appetizers that still had some left was notable. The food has consistently been better than that first trip, even for the large group events with a pre-ordered buffet of sandwiches or appetizers.

The beer list is actually impressive and seems to be getting better with more from 3 Floyds, Revolution, and other Chicagoland breweries.

This was my second visit to Tap House and I consider this the best gastropub in the LF/LB/HP/HW area. I came here last Sunday with my wife and younger sister's family and everyone loved what they ordered. Aside from a couple beers, I tried their fried chicken special, (hey, I'm on vacation), and it was unique... amazing and unique.

Tap House has a big menu, lots of big TV's and a full bar. Like most places in Highwood, there is no parking lot, but I've never had an issue finding a spot right out front.

I came here for a work lunch and they were not very busy, but the service was painfully slow.  They were nice, but not at all attentative.  I had to get up and get my own ketchup and we it was impossible to get a refill on our drinks.  The menu looked great on paper, but my medium Kobe beef burger came out well done.  There wasn't any pink on the burger, which is certainly not medium.  If it is really "kobe" why would you ever cook it that long?  Maybe I just got this place on an off day, but I was really put off by the service and the food.

First visit  - really enjoyed the Tuesday $4 hamburger special.  Thought maybe the tuesday burger would be a smaller variety, but it was NOT.  Half-pound burger was delicious.  Sides were $1 extra.  As advertised, the beer selection was fun, with specials every night.  We even got a sample of the Root Beer Beer - that tastes Just Like Root Beer.  They will make you a Root Beer Beer Float.  Have to try that sometime.  Very pleasant and efficient service.  Only downside to me was that the room's bare floors and open space make it kind of Loud, especially with families on a Tuesday.  I will be back.

A beer lovers paradise. If you like beer this is the place for you. Not only do they have an extensive beer list most of their food is beer based. Their Blue Moon Mussels yummy! Everything I have had there has been very tasty its nothing fancy but still delicious.

I have to admit the service is a bit slow when they are busy on weekends it takes a while to get your food or to even get a seat.

The ambiance is cozy they have a nice lounge area and it is a great place to meet up with friends and hang out. They have specials every night and really fun trivia games on Wednesday nights. I feel that they have something for everyone here.

Mediocre food that is way overpriced.

The restaurant looks brand new, very bright with lots of windows, comfortable dining room. By the high prices on the menu I was expecting some extraordinary food.  But when it came, it was tolerable at best.  We were all excited that tater tots came with the meals, but they turned out to be the same frozen tots my mom used to make at home with a little seasoning sprinkled on them, and far less than expected.

My burger looked like it had been pre-packaged meat.  It was tasty enough but not for the price. My friend ordered Steak Frites which turned out to be a very thin and poorly prepared steak with fries on top, not nearly worth the $16 it cost.  The bill for 4 adults and 2 children was $75 plus tip, but no one really enjoyed their meal.

I would suggest to the owners that the food must be improved or the prices reduced, preferably a little bit of both.

Tap house is slowly making its way back up to where it was when I first visited.  Maybe my second trip (and subsequent 2 star review) were just an off night.

We've gone back a few times with my BF's parents, and everything's been A-ok.  Both times were later in the evening, but the restaurant and bar were still busy.  Servers were always attentive and friendly, willing to answer questions.

Since it was late, I didn't go too crazy on the food, one time I had the Louisiana shrimp appetizer, and another the mussels appetizer.

The Louisiana Shrimp appetizer had the *flavor* of Louisiana style BBQ shrimp, but that's it.  It was good, but not what I had expected.  The shrimp was drowning in a heavy creamy sauce, not at all like the BBQ shrimp I've had in New Orleans.  The flavor was good though, a decent size portion for an appetizer (which I ate as my meal.)

The mussels were awesome.  The broth wasn't heavy at all, and perfectly flavorful.  I really liked how they put the mussels OVER fries, so the fries can get some of the broth, too.

All said and done, Tap House is a good addition to Highwood... and we will keep going back.

    In a word, "horrible".

We stopped in a couple of weeks ago during the dinner hour on a Saturday night.

I knew we were off to a bad start when a waiter and a host got into a minor disagreement over who was handling the host stand. After a minute or two of waiting to be acknowledged, we were finally seated.

I had the buffalo chicken sandwich with tater tots. The sandwich itself was pretty meh. The tater tots? Ice cold.

My wife had the grilled chicken and wild mushroom panini with fries. Awful. Barely any chicken between the bread--bread which had "fake" grill streaks on it.

Warning: the french fries are some of the worst I've EVER had. These are frozen food-quality fries that will contribute to the nausea you'll feel about an hour after eating at this place.

With a handful of decent restaurants in downtown Highwood, why you would want to eat here is beyond me.

Unfortunately, it took personal experience to figure that out.

    AVOID TAP HOUSE GRILL!

We were regulars at this place when this place was occupied by "Sage Grille" and I can say that this place makes a great successor to the venue.

The vibe is more laid back, casual, and family friendly.  We came here tonight for dinner and were very pleased with our experience.  I appreciate a server who can actually comment a thing or two about their beer choices and can be confident about his recommendations.  Ben, our server, made our first visit pleasant and deserving of a return visit.

For dinner, my husband ordered the ribeye special - "just ok" according to the self-proclaimed steak connoisseur.  I had the blackened tilapia tacos.  The fish was grilled just right and the salsa was good.  It would have been better if they were served on corn tortillas and even if they were served on flour tortillas, they should be warmed but not toasted.

The kids had Mac and cheese with tater tots; I appreciate that they actually made their own unlike other places that whip it out of the blue box.

The best part was the dessert- warm doughnuts drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce---heavenly!

I just meandered in on a Saturday for lunch. My first time. I was a little skeptical as it was very slow, only a couple tables seated when i peeked in through the windows. In fact as i write this, I am the only person in the place at 3:15pm on Saturday.

I ordered an IPA that was the special beer. Excellent! So far so good.

I ordered the crispy buffalo chicken sandwich with the hottest hot sauce ( forgot the name of the sauce but waiter told me in contained ghost peppers-supposedly hottest around). Absolutely best I've ever had! It was fantastic! Same for the tater tots dipped into a side of the hot sauce which I requested. Even the cole slaw was great!

Seriously, patronize this place, please! The restaurant is gorgeous with nice picture windows overlooking scenic Highwood. Superb food and beer! Great service! It has everything!

    I will certainly be back!

    Loved it!

Stopped by last evening in search of a bar with a decent beer selection and quiet atmosphere. The Tap House Grill nailed it on both of these.

Reasonably priced pints, a really good selection of roughly 20 beers on tap, almost entirely craft beers. Had two pints and stuck around for trivia. Service was quick and friendly at the bar, it seemed like a pretty quiet night but I didn't see any of the slow service everyone else seems to be complaining about. Will be returning soon to try the food as well!

Really nice restaurant / bar.  Husband and wife team are the owners, and the food and service here has been great the multiple times I have been here.  Very hospitable people.

20+ beers on tap, and a nice selection of wine.  The food is very good.  Homemade soups, good appetizers and lot's of sandwich options.  Love the prime burger.  They have a Kobe burger, but the prime was just fine.  (Hmm, I am a poet and didn't know it)  Very very good homemade fries.  They have tater tots, which a number of folks have recommended, but I haven't had them (never have been a fan)

The fried chicken is outstanding.  They have a Sunday Brunch buffet that is reasonably riced, and different specials at night.

I haven't been to too many places that have invested in a tap that rinses out the glasses prior to drawing the beer to be sure it's properly rinsed.  A nice touch.

I have been here when group were, and they seemed to be having a great time.

If you are looking for a high end place, this isn't it.  If you're looking for a place that has a lot of health food, this isn't it.

This is a tavern at it's best.  Just go in, get comfortable and relax.

Honestly, I've been disappointed my last few visits. I think the food consistency has gone down a little. If the kitchen won't make a simple modification (less sauce or to have something grilled), the server should really come back and tell you. Furthermore, the last 3 times I've come in for a burger, it has not been cooked right. My med-rare came out very, very, well done ever single time. The service has slowed down a little as well, but then again, it seems like half the staff have left or been replaced, never a great sign..

In addition, it really seems like the bar needs to get its act together. I really feel sorry for the waiters when yelpers say there is "slow service". I always sit at the bar, and it seems like the waiters have to stand over the bartenders for their drinks to be made.
In this economy, I find it hard to believe that there is no one with bar tending experience, or a willingness to learn, looking for a job.

I still am crazy about the desserts though, so I will return.. but I just hope Tap House pulls it back together a little more.

Disagree with anyone that says the service is bad and the food is mediocre.  I have been three times and I have had great service every time.  All have been recent visits so maybe they fixed the problem.  My daughters wanted me to ask our server on our last visit if she would babysit for them.  I will say that I agree that there is one woman there - hostess/owner maybe? -- that appears to be incapable of smiling and seems pretty put out.  Probably not someone you want out front. That aside,  the beer selection is pretty deep for the suburbs and the servers seem to be fairly well educated on the selection.  The burger is easily in my top5 five at the moment and I eat a lot of burgers.  Give this place a shot.  Go bowling next door after -- super friendly never crowded so you can usually get a lane.

Update --- went back a few more times and can see the knock on the service.  It can be really bad.

I love to belly-up to the bar here with my husband!

Service has also always been pretty great for me, except during the NCAA tourney - but that's to be expected.

I think I had the same rude, cranky hostess as some other Yelpers! I came here for lunch and it wasn't terribly busy when I got there. It took the hostess turned waitress a whopping 18 minutes to take our order. We mentioned we were on a bit of a time constraint and she had even more attitude.. Now I will give her some credit as a table of 10 sat down but hey, that's the job!
The food was ok. I just got a half pizza and Caesar salad. Can't really screw that up!
My partner in crime had a meatball sandwich which he said was also "ok".
If the service was better, it could be a better rating, but it was also freezing in there.
I'll probably try another outing there for drinks, but certainly not if the rude staff was there. Sigh.....

We had an early Friday dinner with our 1 & 3-year olds.  THG wasn't very crowded. There were a few tables that looked like work groups out to start the weekend, and other families with a similar plan to ours, which made us feel more welcome.

There isn't an actual "kids menu", but they do have kid sized servings of hamburger, mac & cheese, cheese pizza, and a couple other things I think.  We ordered the mac & cheese and a hummus plate (the 3-yo loves hummus with anything & everything!).  Mac & cheese was OK, nothing outstanding, but certainly not bad.  The hummus plate came with sliced cucumber, grapes, and pita bread, and was good.  We would definitely order this again.

We also had the deep fried bacon as an appetizer.  It was breaded bacon that was deep-fried and served with ranch and  honey mustard sauces.  My 3-yo couldn't get enough of it, but I don't think i would order it again.  Really salty and a little disappointing.

For our main course, my wife had the turkey burger, and I had the fried chicken and rib combo.  My wife loved her burger and thought it was moist and had great taste.  My combo was good.  The ribs were fall off the bone tender, probably parboiled, and had the kind of sauce I like: sweet, but not cloyingly sweet.  The fried chicken(I loved that you choose the two pieces. I had 2-thighs) was very moist and flavorful, but the skin, my favorite part, was very salty.  The underlying meat had perfect flavor and moisture!

We will definitely be back.  The service was good, the food was good, and they are kid friendly.

Was impressed with this little gem tucked away in Highwood. The area had a small town feel which was unique considering it's not too far from the city. Was here for a Yelp event and i'll admit that they left a good impression on me.

The craft beer selection was nice, always sweet to have the option of having a cold Green Line draft. Was also introduced to Abby, and that was a good brew as well. The food is good, my faves being the sliders and the jambalaya pasta.

Overall, it's a good addition to this area. Good food, good beer, and an extremely attentive and generous staff who deliver great service. I'd definitely come back here as it's a great time and not a bad value.

Fact: I purposely came here an hour before the Pirate Booty event in order to eat THG's tater tots at the bar.

Not just any old tater tots (although, even plain tater tots are little nuggets of fried happiness) but "Loaded Tater Totchos". Yup, you read that right. An awesome combination of tater tots and nachos. Topped with Goose Island steak chili, Merkts cheese sauce, corn poblano pico, fire-roasted salsa, and sour cream. In fact, I was SO excited about these Totchos that I completely overlooked the cheese curds and fried pickles on the menu. (Time to plot my return!)

A large draft beer list meant an Allagash White for me, and a Green Line for J to wash down our "snack" with. What a huge mound of Totchos!

But the most unexpected thing? They have a Megatouch machine at the bar! As someone who isn't a big beer drinker, I can hang out in one for many hours as long as you sit me in front of a Megatouch machine with lots of $1 bills. I now hold the #1, #4, and #6 place in the Tai Play ranking. Booyah!

Last night there was a Yelp event at Tap House Grill which was the tops, but my friends and I stuck around for the Trivia Night! We love us a good trivia night of fun! Plus, I saw deep fried bacon on the menu and being the swine enthusiast that I am, I knew it must be a tackled meat.

Trivia was a lot of fun!!! We loved the Harry Potter round! The guy running the trivia was super helpful, friendly and the perfect host for the event. I'm definitely going to go back for their Trivia Nights.

The Crispy fried bacon was $8 and well worth it! I'm obsessed with bacon and really love trying all of the crazy things that people will deep fry so this was a perfect marriage! It was deep fried and battered and just delicious! It's served with honey mustard & ranch sauces on a bed of lettuce...got to keep it real for the health conscious people! I loved it and could literally not stop eating it. 2 of 4 of my friends found it a bit too salty.

Tap House Grill is a fun time and I'll fo sheezey be back!

How could I live in that area all of my life and visit almost every Highwood establishment (many times) and last night was my first time??!!

I came here for my first Yelp event and by the way, it was freeeeeaaakkkkkiiinnnggg awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The place is right on the corner with tons of parking - after all, with a town known for taverns and restaurants, how could you not find parking?

The inside is much bigger than the outside deceives.  What a great place to get some great food and great spirits and watch a game!!

And onto the food - The event had a buffet style and I found myself forgetting that I wanted to lose a couple of pounds and indulge in the eye candy!  Ok, can I tell you that the Jambalaya Pasta just blew me away!!  I love an al dente pasta and then add some heat - you've got me for life!  And the sliders...I could eat a hundred of you!

The only beer I had was recommended by the server and when he brought the honey colored Green Line Ale, and I saw that light frost over the golden color I knew this was the beer that was looking for me.

My only regret was not trying a couple of items that really drew my attention on the menu:  Crispy Fried Pickles and Buffalo Chicken and Mozzarella Wontons!!!

I have gone to this place a couple times with my family. It has been mostly for dinner on weekends. The feeling of this place is somewhere between casual family dinning and a sports bar. I can't quite place where they are trying to go. There is a section with booths, a section with high tables, a bar section, a private party section that you pass on the way to the bathroom, and a section with couches. I guess it is safe to say there are many options when you visit.

The service can be very good or a little slow. Most commonly the staff is young with extremely high energy. Even when it has been jam packed with customers, our food has never taken too long.

With the exception of one dish that was on special (some kind of pot roast sandwich), all the meals I have ordered and my family members have been worth going back for. Now that I have been there a few times, I can't seem to veer away from their classic burger and fries. They give you just enough of the lightly seasoned fries to leave feeling satisfied. The burgers are huge and delicious. When I am brave enough to pass up the cheeseburger, I plan to order the trio of tacos because I see so many people around me eating them and they look delicious. Stay tuned!

This is a nice place to bring someone because it is busy enough to keep conversation, there are a lot of tv's and different seating options, they have a GREAT craft beer list, and the food menu is big and tasty!

Burgers!!! Got the Kobe with Boursin mayo and provolone, tater tots on the side.
Cheese curds are ok, it's the sauce that's more exciting.
    Yummy flatbreads.

I didn't try the food here, to be fair... My friends and I just came for some drinks.  They told us we could sit either in their cozy couch area or at the bar.  The cozy couch area looked great: leather furniture by a fire and a giant tv, so we took that option.

It was a Tuesday evening, so "animal drafts" were on special-- anything on tap with an animal in the name of the brewery or the beer (Goose Island, really. And dragons count).  Good thing, because on special meant we paid $4 for a goblet of ale... Otherwise we'd be paying $6 or $7 or even $8.  And I'm not spoiled-- I live in California.  Even our air is more expensive.

We got one round and the waitress never returned-- not to get us more drinks, not to give us our check... For that reason exactly, we never ordered another round.  Maybe Tap House doesn't care, they want the big spenders who will pay double what we did for 8 oz of beer.  It might be a cozy atmosphere, but at these prices, I'll take cornhole over cozy down the street at Teddy O'Brian's.

It's saturday night, you've just got off work, and it's christmas eve. I needed a drink.

My manager had been telling me about here, so several of us decided to grab some beers here after a ridiculously busy week (not that we didn't expect that).  To start off, the beer list is excellent. A 1 pg draft list with a good variety of beers and prices. They even had some lost abbey on tap, so of course my eyes darted straight to that. I didn't even bother with what looked to to be a great bottle list as the draft list was keeping me more than busy. They even were fully on top of all of the stemware too.

I wasn't originally going to get food, but mac and cheese was calling. I got everything loaded in it, which included bacon, tomatoes, and other stuff that I wasn't paying attention to. It was great. Granted, I was probably going to like it to begin with, but I was cramming macaroni onto my fork like it was going out of style.

The service was extremely good too. It was never a problem getting a beer and everyone there was very friendly. They have some ridiculous monday specials, so I will certainly be back

To put it out there right away, I love this place.

It's decent if you're looking for a bar, but if you're looking for somewhere to have dinner and a drink, it's great.

The menu is full of things that sound incredibly appetizing and there are a good amount of unique items (such as deep-fried bacon) as well as more common foods (such as burgers).

My friend and I were blown away when we asked about specific beers and were offered to have samples to see which we would like to have. I, personally, have never been at a restaurant that offered something like this. This was very helpful as their list of beers on tap is a full page long and full of variety (there is also another full page of beers they have in bottles).

Then, before ordering our meals, we ended up ordering the deep-fried bacon as an appetizer because we couldn't make up our minds. It came with two dipping sauces, a honey mustard and an onion ranch. They were very different from one another, but both mixed really well with the bacon.

I ordered the barbecued pulled pork and it was great. Their fries were also really good (fries are not one of my favorite foods) and the coleslaw was a lot better than the coleslaw served at most restaurants.

If you like food and you like beer (you don't have to like beer, but they do have a great selection, so it is a plus), you will like this restaurant.

When you read this post - you will understand that the 2-stars were due to a myriad of circumstances... they're really quite comical, actually!!

Tap House has a very comfortable environment that suits several occasions, ages, and styles very well.  Just in the first glance around the room I see a business meeting, a bunch of guys sitting at the bar  watching a game, a date night, etc.

The bar is spacious, the lounge is kinda swanky with comfy chairs, and the tables are spaced apart nicely so that you feel like you can talk without whispering.  Lighting, noise level, all good.

The only thing I wonder is why their sign isn't lit up better!?!?  Tap House Grill blends into the block in between Bridie McKenna's and Sage Grille.

For as many times as I've driven through Highwood looking for something that wasn't quite the Nickel or Backstage Brothel but not going to gouge me for low quality food and drinks like Bridie McKenna's... this is that perfect place to grab a glass of wine (worth the money) with friends.

I would have thought A LOT more of the place if my 2+ hour experience wasn't riddled with terrible service - orders that don't come out as described on the menu - and perhaps a server who knew ANYTHING about the place.

Somebody who is as completely clueless as Alyssa shouldn't be serving without a more experienced server working beside her!

Everybody waited twenty minutes or more for their first drink, first of all - and that's after she fumbled around for twenty minutes running back and forth to the bar asking if the beers we were pointing out were on tap.

This silliness is due to the fact that our server said that in order to determine whether or not the beer was on tap - she had to 'ask' the bartender.

I said, exasperated - How the h-e-double-hockey-stick can you run a place called the Tap House Grill without a MENU of the beers on tap!?!?

Oh, yeah.  After twenty minutes of running back and forth and ordering seven different beers that aren't on tap - the server realizes that there's a BEER ON TAP MENU.  (!)

I ordered grilled calamari - outstanding.  Very delicious.

I also had the 'Drunken Shrimp'.  Also outstanding - very delicious, good portion, everything included fresh veggies as a garnish with the dish.  Very good food... until...

My husband ordered the Chicken Sandwich with Mushrooms and Brie.  No Joke, what came out looked like a Ceasar Salad on bread with some chicken breast.

Gooey mayonnaise-laden dressing with hunks of lettuce.  No brie or mushrooms to be found.

My husband - a Mayo-Hater to the core - asked the server if this was the proper sandwich.  She disappears for a long time as usual - then tells us that it's the proper sandwich.

Brian couldn't eat it so she took it away and comped it (first decent thing she did all night).  However - she couldn't help him find anything else on the menu.  At all.  There was no assistance.

Finally I said - bring him soup and bread.  I don't want him sitting here for drinking on an empty stomach.  He ended up with half my Drunken Shrimp (to my dismay) and some delicious bread with a sort of pesto rub on it that I know we didn't pay for.  I wish they would have brought it in the first two hours we had been there so I could dunk it in my marinara or the delicious lemony-white-wine cream sauce that came with my Calamari.

Who knows - maybe she did order the bread when we sat down at 8:30?  It's hard to tell because in the th

My wine decent.  A Malbec I paid about 9.00 for.  The other girl at the table asked for a Pinot Grigio - meaning the 7.00 house glass.  Our bill came with a $24.00 tab for her two glasses.  The server failed to clarify just which glass the girl wanted so charged her for the most expensive on the menu - $12 a glass.  Not cool.

The guys had awesome beer and although there were two massive TV's in the dining area with a sports game on - they were high on the wall and they guys didn't get distracted by them.  Very cool.

At the end of the meal I told Alyssa to put $26 on one card and the rest on my card - as we were purchasing the first round for our guests and all they ordered was dessert - a really ice-cream-laden looking cookie of sorts - the ice cream looked good but I didn't try it.  Naturally, the bill was split in half - $50 on one card $50 on another.  Even though I wrote the number 26 explicitly on the check.  SO not willing to let A-Game disappear yet again, I asked the bartender to fix the bill.  She did so willingly and quickly as I stood there.  Nobody's really that "happy" about a pissed of customer but she wasn't terribly put off, either.

As a kind gesture the bartender sent a couple of free appetizer coupons our way which was very sweet and we really can't wait to come back soon for the delicious appetizers and beer.

So all in all this place would be a 4-star casual dining experience easy in my book if somebody had only been able to train this server in anything related to waitressing.

A coworker and I went here for lunch. It was a nice day so we sat outside    Because it was a little loud inside. Outside was ok as long as you dont mind the train going by.
She had the tilapia sandwich w/out bun.  They were more happy to accommodate the request. It looked really good!! She would totally get it again. Ihad the hoagie sandwich it was good. The bread a little more toasted than I like.
It was a little more  than I like to spend on lunch. Once In awhile not bad.
The staff, including our server Robert, was very nice and cheerful. Our drinks never had a chance to be empty.
