This is honestly one of my new favorite places to go hang out. It's a little on the pricier side but in my opinion worth it. Lots of beer, tap and bottle, ciders, wine and cocktails. Honestly the food is what keeps me coming back though. The staff (from hostess to servers) are all quite friendly although it can be a little unnerving if seated in the back that they do wait there to see what you need. However I prefer that to a server who disappears, never to be seen again. There's a very mixed crowd here, from families to couples to just people hanging out. It's gorgeous inside with dark wood and equestrian scenes everywhere. There's also a seating area upstairs that seems like it might be used for parties and I think I might be taking advantage of that eventually.

On to food... Various family members have had the fish and chips on different visits and it remains a favorite. I did have the pretzel and beer cheese which I'm imagining would be awesome if someone has imbibed a little too much. I didn't love it, the cheese separated a little and I wasn't getting the whole thing. But the flavors were good. The short rib sliders with bleu cheese aioli are also a favorite. To my surprise I also enjoy the gruyere, crab and bean dip. It sounds like something that shouldn't go together but it's actually really good. The family enjoys the meatloaf - can't say I love it because I've never tried it even though it's ordered almost every visit. However I did have some of the best roast chicken ever on my last visit. It was a special of the night (although it's kind of always on the menu) with cheddar and bacon mashed potatoes and green beans. Amazing! I've honestly only ever had roast chicken that good at Harvest on Hudson and X2O. That's saying a lot because I honestly think chicken is generally a throw away but I would go back to Tap House just for this chicken. Steak is always cooked properly (if I ask for my NY strip medium it better not be cooked all the way through) and full of flavor. Honestly, never a bad meal here. My only real complaint would be that sometimes things are a bit too salty, almost requiring a beer of some sort to tone it down. If that could be tweaked it would be perfect. Oh and I almost never order dessert here (except for that peanut butter and chocolate cake that's out of this world) but otherwise there's no real gluten free options or I'm just that stuffed from a good meal.

Great pub (not bar) atmosphere, no attitude, awesome food, solid win.

I didn't care for the beer choices on tap - bartender didn't have any dark beers - and the prices were a little too high when I was expecting happy hour prices. Burger was good though. Might go back on a different night.

I have never come across a bar that turns patrons away. I have tried to have a drink here with friends on three separate occasions all after 10pm. On all three occasions we were told "sorry the bar is closed". Why turn away paying customers!? We do not feel welcomed and we will not be returning.
