Taqueria Mi Tierra

If you're looking for a place that will remind you of hole in the wall eateries in Mexico, this is it.  They have horrible flourescent lights and no decor.  But if you're interested in Mexican food, brush off your Spanish and give this place a try.  Our waitress did not speak English, but one side of the menu is in English, so pointing will probably suffice.  I had the daily special, pork ribs, and hubby had fajitas.  The pork ribs ($5) were delicious, tender, meaty and in a thick chile sauce that had me dripping sweat.  Hubby was cranky about the shrimp in his fajitas ($12) still having their tails, but when he was finished he said the fajitas were delicious and loaded with more meat than veggies.  We both had tamarindo agua fresca.  Unfortunately they don't serve beer.  The guacamole ($2.50) was wonderful.   They have a large menu - tortas and tacos of chorizo, asada (steak), carnitas (roast pork), lengua (tongue), pastor, cabeza, etc.  They've got seafood, mojarra frita (fried tilapia) and caldo de siete mares which is a seafood soup, among other things.   The prices are incredibly cheap, so forgive them for not having chips and salsa on the table.
