After searching for a nice ambiance for Mexican, we decided to give this place a try...

We took someone from out of country here hoping to get some nice Mexican food.  I decided on the the shrimp enchiladas.  They brought out the wrong order, shrimp fajitas.  Once I told the server, he did not ask me if I wanted black or white beans.  I got white beans and I hate white beans!  The shrimp enchiladas were a disappointment.  There was nothing special about them.  It was basically boring shrimp rolled in tortilla with some bland sauce drenched on top.  It was served with rice and corn pudding.  The rice was also boring.  The rice pudding was okay.  My girlfriend got the tortilla soup which she did not finish.  My sister got a chicken tamale with her meal, which I had a bite of.  It was bland and stiff.  Definitely not what I expected from a tamale.  Everything was so disappointing.  Even the beer.

Besides the server messing up my order, food came out slowly one by one.  We got our request to sit outside but the heaters were not on.  It was cold.  The view was pretty but it was uncomfortable.  We will not be coming back again.

It would be zero stars if it weren't for the drinks.  $12 for two tiny tacos, four  tablespoons of rice and beans. The food was tasteless, bland and no spice.  Have a drink, skip the food.

Decor is nice, outdoor patio is nice. Our server Kimberly was nice and attentive. That is pretty much it.

The food is very tasteless. It wasn't even just ok, it was very bland. The fish taco had no flavor what so ever and the fish tasted like if though it was frozen. The carne asada taco was flavorless as well. The only decent thing was the corn pudding (they put a tiny scoop on your plate). Would not return.

Excellent freshness! Great flavor! Love the selection of specialty drinks. To start I ordered a strawberry piña colada. Yumm! I had shrimp fajitas. They were so yummy; they had some sort of chili powder seasoning on them! And the roasted peppers in the fajitas were to die for! Tasted like they were just picked!

My dad got a wet burrito. I had a bite and loved it! Just great flavor and freshness all around! Didn't seem like they just let their food sit in the kitchen forever before they make it. I'd go back in a heart beat!

Aug 18th Lets just say the food is amazing ans I truly enjoy the ambiance.  Took my cousin here for his birthday to celebrate, just a small party of 4. We truly love the fresh chips and salsa.  I had the chicken soft tacos w rice and refried beans.  Sooooooo delicious!!! Our server was good even though we never got her name.

The disappointment was the drinks, we ordered 3 cadillac margaritas and a strawberry margarita. The drinks were not up to par....if I could have reached over to the Yardhouse to grab my drink to have with Tequila Jacks it would have been perfect.  Whoever the bartender was that sunday afternoon on August 18, they need some additional liquor training.

Will def be back for the food and ambiance but not the drinks........

I'm a fan!  Margaritas are awesome!  Tableside guacamole was GREAT!  I had the enchiladas and that was amazing.  And they serve this little corn thing on the side with all of their dishes.  It's like a cross between Tamales and corn.  If I could get a bowl of just that I would seriously be a happy camper!!!!!  The view is great, our waiter was a doll!  I wish I knew his name... he was so sweet.  My friend had the ceviche...he said that it wasn't that great, so I wouldn't recommend the ceviche.  But all in all, it was a great dining experience.  And the view is amazing... it is so beautiful!  Definitely would go back - and seriously if/when I do, I'm going to ask for just a bowl of whatever that corn thing is!

I've only been here a few times for taco tuesdays. Great price for giant margaritas and yummy tacos. The wait is a bit long sometimes, but we always get a drink first and wait out on their patio. Last time I drank too much of my magarita and couldn't even touch the food I ordered, but since it was taco tuesday, we couldn't box up the food, so ended up wasting about $15 on food I was too drunk to eat. My fault, should've waited until I was seated to order drinks, just didn't want to stand awkwardly on the patio with no beverage. I'd go again, but I'd eat first.

I am a fan of this place. The view is gorgeous and so romantic. I like the grilled corn on the side of the entrees. Good touch and makes it more authentic. The guacamole tasted fresh and delicious. The steak was juicy and savory. the black beans were flavorful and well cooked. The drinks made me very happy lol

Definitely worth checking this place out :)

    * Good for dates! ;)

I've only been here for Taco Tuesday and I would definitely be back! Taco Tuesday starts at 3pm so get here early because the wait was 45 mins when we arrived at 6:45.

Fish tacos, chimichangas, and house margaritas are the way to go. The service was as expected given the amount of people here for Taco Tuesday (so don't be a snob expecting to be waited on every 5 minutes).

Tacos for $1, huge house margarita for $4.25, and free chips and salsa while you wait...you'll definitely see me here again on another Tuesday!

Another great meal and experience here. Our waiter Leo was as always, FANTASTIC!,
and Doreen the Manager, always delightful and the best. Love coming here! I am a regular with my best friend as we always get treated like royalty. If you like HOT Latin eye candy from friendly and smiling Wait Staff, this is the place. The patio is the place to sit. Roomy, comfortable and great views. I don't come here for the views, I come here for great food and EXCELLENT service. This is a must-go-to establishment! Not fond of the extra price for sour cream........not a lot, but a little in a cup. When I spend this kind of money, I DO EXPECT a little extra sour cream without a charge. I go to Omelette Inn down the street on Pine Avenue........never a charge. Maybe a thought for repeat and well paying customers.

I'm definitely a fan. I would only go here on Tuesdays for taco tuesday OR between 3pm-6pm for their happy hour. A huge margarita for 4.25 is quite the deal. The atmosphere is fantastic and so is their food. Also, looking at the marina when you sit outside is a plus ;)

    Angie, Angie, Angie
Horrible service. As we do every Tuesday, a couple of friends (all of us are servers/bartenders) and I went over to Tequila Jacks to dine in. The hosts showed us to our table, shortly after the server comes over and (without a welcoming smile nor eye contact) asks, "Are you guys ready to order? If you're going to drink give me your ID." I know customer service for crying out loud that is not the way to greet someone.

The attitude of this server was completely unnecessary. We felt unwanted it was all just bad vibes. Later on when the food comes she asks "Is it cool that I transfer you so I can leave?" At least she asked right? I don't know man. My friends and I are always lenient with service because we know how it is back there. We are always amongst the best tippers in the house. She sadly lost her opportunity. We really went in to grab something to bite on and mainly drinks! With her service we left after one cocktail. The food was okay, nothing extraordinary. The potato skins were really stingy with the cheese and bacon. The drinks were also okay.

Would I come back? Maybe to give there menu a second chance but with this location, I am most definitely done with.

My friends and I happened upon this place on wintery Tuesday while wandering around Shoreline Village. As we walked past the place, I saw the menu they left outside, and two words caught my eye: "Taco Tuesdays".

I love street tacos, and the ones we had here were quite delicious! A lot of the time, when businesses offer $1 taco deals, they either skimp on the quality or quantity of the meat. But not here! I ordered the carne asada and fish tacos, which were amazing. And the patio has a beautiful view! One of the best happy hour experiences I've had. :]

OK. Not exactly the follow up I was expecting to write but it needs to be seen here by all potential customers of this establishment.  I received a VERY nasty harassing message from KEEPING IT R after posting my review here.  I have also learned that KEEPING IT R sent a harassing message to another person that reviewed Tequila Jacks.

I came here for late night happy hour. The drinks are pretty cheap here. Either a 20 oz. margarita or select beer for $4.25. They also offer well drinks, wine and  bottled beer. The margarita was pretty good. Not too strong compared to Mai Tai.

We also ordered a couple appetizers. We got wings (4 pieces), taquitos (3 pieces) and chimichangas (3 pieces). The food was just okay, but then again most people aren't coming here for the food.

I'd definitely come back here if I wanted to get a couple cheap drinks before moving on to the next bar. Check it out and have a good time.

I went here for happy hour and it was BUSY!!

Food Quality: I ordered the $1 carne asada and fish tacos. Now when I saw tacos for a dollar I fist thought that they might be very small To my surprise they were "good" size. The carne asada could have been more marinated/seasoned. Their fish tacos however were BOMB!!! I was actually surprised. They weren't fishy and dry like fish sticks but had a good breading on it. THe fish tacos also came with a nice "zesty" sauce. I ordered about three tacos and I was good.

I do appreciate their great array of tequilas however, don't be fooled by the size of the drinks, this is not Compadres, the drinks were rather weak. I got the "Toes in the Sand" and it was O-K.

Service:The service was okay. The waitress was attentive to our group. The only thing I could say was that she didn't smile much and she seemed a little overwhelmed when we asked her split our bill, despite us conscientiously writing out out card numbers and amounts.

Environment: I love going to restaurants with long lines and packed rooms but the experience was utterly killed by the fact that the AC was not working. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FUNCTION WITH NO AC ON A 80 DEGREE DAY IN A ROOM PACKED WITH PEOPLE? We asked the manager to put on the AC but trust me it didn't happen. It was hot.

I give this place three stars because it was good... that's it. Let's put it this way if I end up here again, I wouldn't be mad.

The food sucked this time. They have started using ground up dark meat chicken in everything instead of chicken breast.and I'm not shitting you, I actually walked around and couldn't find anyone to get any refills or silver wear, so I had to get my cell phone out to call for the stuff.

So we're sitting at a table in the bar area drinking a few beers and watching game 7 of the pacers and heat. All of the sudden my friend FREAKS out and starts saying 'oh my god, oh my god. Move!' I thought a glass was falling or something. But then I saw it. A GIANT (easily 4 inches) cockroach was crawling on some guys back while he was sitting at the bar. In one fluid motion, She gets up, swats it to the ground and then double jump squashes it. Disgusting. The bartenders reaction 'we get those all the time' are you fucking kidding me? A giant cockroach is crawling all over your customer in a restaurant and you don't even apologize. No one working there acted like this was a big deal. This absolutely grossed me out. I was expecting a free anything or a discount - I just wanted someone who worked there to act a wee bit concerned. The way they acted was like the cockroaches are always there having a party crawling on food. I will never be back for this sole reason. That is so far beyond health codes, how is this place still even open?

Besides the unwelcome dinner guests. The beer selection was weak to say the least and the margaritas (at least the house ones) are premixed and come from a gun. They are sorely disappointing as well. Way too much sour mix.

Bottom line for this place: if you like eating with bugs, and possibly eating food that has had bugs on it - go for it. If not, stay faaaar away.

    Nice view though.

This place was fun on a Friday night. We stopped in with some friends for dinner before heading to the Laugh Factory. The food was decent, but the drinks were mouthwatering! I had 2 Scooby Snacks with my dinner, this sounds dumb but now I know why Scooby always went bonkers for Scooby Snacks! LMAO

We came back after the show at the Laugh Factory and they had a late night happy hour. Score!

This place is often packed so I guess that's a good sign, and they serve food fairly late.  Definitely go for Happy Hour, and the late night Happy Hour.  I really like their Margarita's- House Margarita's for $4.25 is a good deal to me.

I went in a large party and they were able to seat us quickly.  The chips and salsa are very tasty and I really liked my vegetable burrito.  The wait staff was friendly and the service was quick.  I ended up going there a couple times during my stay because of the flexible hours, happy hour and fast service.

So after deciding what we wanted to eat for dinner the friend and I decided on Tequila Jacks, at first the host said the wait would be 45 minutes but did mentioned we can kill time at the bar, turns out the bar had a few spots opened and they served the same menu...

Yup, we ate at the bar and heard our named called out three times, why bother letting them know since we already had some drinks and chips & salsa in our system.

Tried their Queso Fundido con Chorizo, chicken enchiladas con mole & their Grilled Salmon. Everything tasted great, even the chips and salsa were good.

Service was on point with anything we needed and wanted.

Will return next time I'm at the Shoreline.

    TACO TUESDAYS!!

It's the only reason I come here. They have the best deals for Taco Tuesdays:

    DOLLAR TACOS!!

My cousin took me to this place for the first time and I was thoroughly impressed. The place was packed and there was a bit of a wait especially if you go on Tuesdays, but it is worth the wait! We were quickly seated and greeted by our server who was very attentive and friendly. I love places that serve you something to munch on as you wait for your food. In this case: chips and salsa. Now, this isn't your traditional tortilla chips bought from your local grocery store or those stale tortilla chips that taste like they've gone bad. Nope. This is hot of the stove, freshly fried tortilla chips. They are fried to perfection and perfectly crisp. Plus, they give you this salsa that has just a bit of a kick to get you excited to see what else is in store.

My rule of thumb of a good tortilla chip is one that does not break when I go in to dip. That's not the case here, the chip stays pristine and conditioned and the whole thing makes it to your mouth. What I love about this place is that the chips and salsa is on the house! I would think they'd charge for this because it's actually really really good enough to be and actual order.

I ordered 3 tacos: 2 fish tacos, and 1 carne asada (just 3 bucks!)

I first tried the carne asada taco and it was pretty good. I had everything on it (onions, cilantro, lettuce, and what tasted like a chipotle mayo sauce.) Whatever it was, it was good. But, nothing beats the fish tacos! These are the best fish tacos ever!

Take that Hole Mole! Their tacos are much bigger here at Yardhouse. Sorry, not sorry. More bang for your buck!

The fish taco was perfectly fried and seasoned with great flavors. It paired well with everything that was in the taco. The slaw had a nice crunchy texture, but with a hint of sweetness to it. Eat this with the chips and salsa, and you're set. You can even ask for more chips and salsa if you want too!

To wrap up, Yardhouse is now one of my favorite go-to places for a Mexican fix without breaking the bank. Another dish I'd recommend is the potato skins, and their taquitos.

Definitely check this place out, especially during their happy hour and taco tuesdays specials, which yes does include drinks!

Tequila Jack's. I found myself over at Shoreline because I initially intended on dining over at Yard House next door. Long story short: 45 minute wait...impatient family...decided to give Tequila Jack's a try.

The food was distasteful. I don't mind shedding a little extra cash on food, if it's actually good, that it is. The food at Tequila Jack's is very bland & mediocre in both taste in presentation. The entrees were priced far too high. This is easily the worst Mexican restaurant I have EVER dined at. I've had fast food better than this.

I'm assuming the main attraction to this place has to be the drinks, because the food surely is not anything to entice customers to revisit.

This is not a place I would not recommend grabbing a bite to eat at. You will leave highly disappointed and hungry as well.

I'm not sure why this restaurant doesn't have more stars, as it has easily become my favorite out of those I've tried at Shoreline Village. The chips and salsa always taste fresh, the margaritas are huge and delicious, and every entrée I've tried has been excellent.

On our last visit, I decided to order the Chicken and Mole Enchiladas, as I've always been curious about trying mole. I ended up loving it! Our waitress, who was very attentive and friendly, mentioned that she has tried mole elsewhere and wasn't a fan, but that she loves the one at Tequila Jack's. I can see why...this dish has great flavor and is the perfect combination of sweet/savory. It came with a generous portion of your choice of  either black or refried beans (I went for the black beans), rice, and their yummy Mexican corn pudding. Because of the large size of this entrée (as well as every other I've had), I was able to enjoy half of it and take the rest home for lunch the following day!

Their Taco Tuesdays and Happy Hour specials also offer great deals on street tacos, appetizers, and drinks. It's hard to beat sipping on a margarita while taking in the view from the patio, which is located right off the water.

I've never really experienced a problem with management, as other yelpers have mentioned, besides the fact that the hosts/hostesses sometimes seem a bit overwhelmed when it's understandably more busy at peek times. We've often had to wait for 30 minutes to an hour, but the food and drinks are worth it. Can't wait until the next visit!

We came here for brunch and the management is horrible!! One of the busboys spilled an entire tray of drinks on one of the girls in our group. It ruined her shirt, shoes and purse! No one came to apologize except our awesome waitress. We felt so bad for the waitress because she was amazing and paid for our guacamole out of her own pocket because she felt so bad (the management refused to comp us for anything). Do not come here unless you want to be treated like a second class citizen by Oscar "the Manager" and the 5 other managers that walk around not doing any work.

This place is AWESOME! They have great food! Very tasty, seasoned just right, big portions and great prices! The waitress was very helpful. She was busy with a bunch of tables, but still attended to us rather quickly! We had the steak torta and fries. Pretty good and I like how the meat had a hint of lime which complimented it well. My girlfriend had the chicken fajita which was also very tasty. The rice was good, I would say 2.5 out of 5. The strawberry blended margarita is a must have on a hot day. Not too strong. Give them a try.

I have been here 3 times and all visits have been great!

Twice was to eat tacos on Taco Tuesday and they are very good for a great price.  Went this past Sunday for lunch and again, the food and service were great!  We ordered the Cajun Chicken and Carne Asada Torta sandwiches and they were delicious! My brother had one of the burritos and he devoured it.  $5.00 bottled Pacifico's - not bad.  I would definitely keep coming back here.

They do have a nice kids menu too.

Decided to come here for Cinco De Mayo because my friends and I were looking for a kid friendly restaurant to have some lunch and margaritas! :)

I was a little hesitant because it only has 3 stars and I haven't had much luck with places who only manage to receive a 3 start rating.  However, after my experience there I'm glad I took the risk.

The drinks were deeeelicious!!  Our table ordered a variety of drinks and each one of them tasted yummy!!  From the reaction of my friends, the food was just as good.  I myself had a ceviche tostada that I was quite pleased with.  It was fresh and perfectly seasoned!

The patio or the adjacent room, is the perfect spot to be seated on a nice day!

The only complaint I have would have to be our waitress, although nice, she was over talkative and appeared to be, for the lack of a better word, a bit sloppy.  I think as a server you should always look presentable so that your customer is comfortable with you handling their meals.  She failed to get minor details correct on some of our drink orders. For example, rimming margaritas with sugar rather than salt as requested, and bringing flower tortillas rather than the corn tortillas that had been ordered.  Other than that, our visit was pretty pleasant and I will most likely be returning. :)

This place is all about the outside bar and the drinks. Such a great atmosphere, looking out on the harbor and watching the parade of humanity walk the boardwalk. The sun, the water, the boats, big tasty libations, classic rock, good friends, cool crowd...that's where it's at.

For a bit of criticism, I really wish they'd prohibit all smoking, not just cigars. The lady smoking next to us did what so many smoker do: to keep the smoke from her and her man, she put her cig at her side/back with the smoke coming straight into our group. Hey, if you want to smoke, let the stream go toward you, not us. But really, no one should have to sit with a stream of smoke in their face. So much for that refreshing ocean breeze.

I also find the salsa really watery and bland, although the chips are tasty. Have yet to try more than appetizers, so will wait to remark on the food.

I'm a regular here. It's hard to predict if you'll have a wait or not. Some nights it's pretty empty, while other times the wait is about 45 minutes.
It's a pretty loud place-- lots of people trying to share their conversation with the entire restaurant. Somehow every time I come there's always at least 3 individuals that seem to be the loudest. Like.. I can still hear their laugh when I'm in the bathroom. It doesn't bother me, but you should know this isn't some quiet romantic spot by the water to bring your date.. unless it's on one of their slow nights. But if it's busy.. oh man, it can get pretty loud. So to me, this translates to.. they have some good-ass margaritas. Haven't tried any, but seen others order it and it looks cool with a little Corona sticking out of it.

Queso fundido is yummy here. Chicken tortilla soup comes with a ton of chicken breast cubes, so it's pretty filling. Their carne asada plate is a real deal-- that's probably what keeps luring me back.

Service is good-- only had one instance I had to confront the server if I was bothering him by asking for more chips and salsa. I'm almost certain he spit in my salsa after that. haha
They validate parking. I think if you're there for less than a couple hours, with validation it's $1. Going beyond the validated time can get pretty pricey, so down that margarita!

I have only been here on "Taco Tuesday" nights for happy hour.  Get here before 7:30 (earlier if there is a game on) or you may have to wait for a table.

It's loud and crowded, but the chips and tacos get the job done for the price.  Chips are always served warm and fresh and the salsa and pico de gayo are delish.  The $5 20oz house margaritas are strong too!  Lots of TVs set up everywhere too.  The service is decent for how busy it gets.

Great way to catch up with friends over a game.
