We came down here July 4th weekend on the Saturday, I expected it to be crowded but it wasn't at all. However, I didn't expect the $30 for 2 cover charge to get in. Yikes!
It was a beautiful evening and not too hot, so we came down on the bike (Harley). They let us self park real close with no parking cost which was nice. I asked the doorman about the cover charge and they just started doing it about a year ago. I guess they want to make sure you spend money and don't just come in to look around. Seems funny; I've never been charged to walk in to a 5 star hotel before!
We went to the Observation Bar. I used to live close by and would hang out there many Saturday nights. The atmosphere and view is still beautiful, and the service is still good. The view is not quite what it is compared with next door Fuego.
Came here on a Saturday night. Â I took Mr purple heart here, since he's NEVER been on the queen mary. Â I thought it would be fun 2 grab a few drinks. Â
It is true abt the $15 dinning voucher. Â But it wasn't bad b/c you're going to be spending that much anyways. Â It went towards the total bill.
We walked around the ship and took pictures. Â As we arrived the observation bar, there was a lot of empty seating. Â We grabbed a table in the back near the window, rt next to the performers. Â They were a cool cover band. Â Lead singer sounded like Lady Gaga. Â They were pretty cool. Â
There's a mixture of ppl here. Old and young. Â I felt a little over dressed in my summer dress. Â But ehhh, made the most of it. Â
The waitress was very attentive and friendly.
We ordered 2 mojitos, which came in huge glasses. Â For food, its all finger foods, so we ordered spinach and artichoke dip and bbq wings. Â The dip was fantastic! I really liked the flour chips they used. Â
We had a great time. Â Very chill place. Â Had an old time feel. Â
Oh yeah, if u dine here parking costs $5 instead of $15 if u show them the receipt from the bar.
