This review is for their bubble tea as I have yet to try the food.
The best boba in Aurora. Why? ALWAYS CONSISTENT. And more flavor options than others. Unlike other places it never has the artificial taste from the flavoring powder & it's never too sweet.
Buy 10 get 1 FREE boba card is a plus!
I don't want to give this a low rating because I own a restaurant myself and I know how much hard work you have to put into a restaurant....but I took two bites and couldn't eat anymore. I had the Massaman chicken curry , and my husband had the pad see ew shrimp. At first I thought I can just try and eat as much as I can if I can find some salt since it didn't have much flavor to it , but after the second bite the chicken tasted a little spoiled. I asked for a to go box, and packed it up and threw it away when I got home. The owners were nice, quiet people...and it was just too hard to tell them their food did not taste good. The only reason we didn't go to Thai street  is because they are closed the days I have off! Bummer!
Review Source:This place needs a little more love!  I've visited Thai Landing twice last week.  Granted, it's in a slightly sketchy area on Montview and not as fancy or hip as Thai Street Food across the street but, what this place has going for is authenticity.  Thai landing features  soft-spoken, shy-ish owner with warm customer service, Thai soap playing on TV (I had the pleasure of viewing two thai chicks fighting, pulling hair and pushing each other into a swimming pool - score!), slightly faster service (probably because it doesn't get quite as jam packed as the place across the street), cheaper but comparable size of entree and food that is authentic and feeds the soul when you crave that home made, heart warming comfort (thai) food.  I can only speak for two curry dishes I had - Panang curry was definitely better than Thai Street Food.  Second time, I had Jungle Curry which was a no nonesense, straight up curry (no coconut milk) packed full of complex, deep, rich flavor - I wanted to soak my tongue in there for good hour or forever. Another wonderful feature of Thai Landing is their diverse bubble tea offerings - can't think of a better beverage paring for thai food than a thai iced tea with boba!  They also accept credit card which is a nice convenient feature.  Please don't get me wrong, I love thai street food just as much, but when I am pressed for time and don't have cash on me, or just have to have a bubble tea, I will be heading over to thai landing.  How lucky am I to have two wonderful thai choices!
Review Source:Not overly fancy but comfortable interiors and a simple but great Thai selection. Â My Tom Kha Gai was delicious! Â Hot and fresh. Â I spent a month in Thailand and this tasted like I was right back in Thailand. Â And pretty authentic thanks to the Thai owners and the Thai soaps in the background. Â I'll be back for sure as there doesn't seem to be many other options close to UCH and UCD-AMC.
Review Source:This restaurant definitely has the cafe experience with register based takeout style ordering and seat yourself tables. Â That being said the owners of the restaurant were very friendly and of Thai origin. Â Upon asking how they prepare their pad Thai, the owner was happy to talk about the mixture of flavors and their focus on keeping the flavor authentic to Thailand vs Americanized dishes.
I ordered the chicken pad Thai which interestingly enough came wrapped in an egg omelette style. Â The dish was pretty tasty a little on the wet side for my liking of pad Thai but flavor was good. Â I also tried the Thai spicy popcorn chicken but it was only ok, seemed to be coated in Chinese 5 spice powder, didn't taste bad but wouldn't order it again. Â
The bubble tea menu at this place is huuuge. Â I got a Thai boba tea and it was a good portion and reasonably priced.
All in all I would return to this restaurant and try some of the other dishes, potentially the curry or non noodle dishes. Â Prices were inexpensive and staff was friendly.
This is one of the worst Thai meals I have had in Denver. I Yelped "Thai food in Aurora" and drove to Thai Street Food - Â just to find out that they were opened only on Saturday during the winter, Since Thai Landing was a block away we stopped by for lunch. My stomach butterflies tried to warn me, but hunger prevailed and we walked in. That was a fatal mistake!
We ordered drunken noodles with shrimp and a whole fried Tilapia. The drunken noodles looked sick. The shrimp just laid there, bit up and depressed. It was obviously frozen before being dumped into the pan. I took one bite of the noodles, but didn't dare to taste the shrimp.
The fried fish was ok, but after looking at the shrimp I could't trust its freshness. I tried to repeat what my grandma used to tell me: "Hunger is the best cook". That didn't help.
The best way to support this place is not to go there.
Great hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Â Started going here because of the bubble tea, which is good and up to the usual standard of Lollycup. Â I go there regularly now and continue to order the same dish. The chicken pad thai is fabulous and really unique. Â The egg is like an omlette and is wrapped around the noodles. Restaurant itself is nothing special. But I love the pad thai and bubble tea.
Review Source:I had some stellar deep-fried spring rolls from Thai Landing, so I decided to check out their full menu. Â I ordered a typical cross-section of Thai cuisine: a salad, a curry, and pad thai, as well as the spring rolls again and an appetizer sampler.
Pros: Â The spring rolls were, once again, fantastic. Â And the prices are really low -- typically $5.95 for most non-seafood dishes.
Cons: Â Where to begin... The pad thai was made with some strange gravy, with the egg supplied as an omelette-like covering. Â The curry was thin, lacking any flavor except a mild hotness and lacking any vegetables save for the pineapple. Â The beef in the salad was soggy, the lettuce was soggy, the tomato was as bad as any I've ever eaten and the dressing was missing the oomph that characterizes Thai salads. Â The appetizer sampler had some Japanese potstickers and a dim sum-like scallion cake. Â It was possibly the worst Thai meal I've ever eaten.
Thai food is notable for its strong, pungent flavors that make a big impression on your palate -- I describe it as "a fistfight in your mouth." Â Thai Landing, unfortunately, is more like watching two fat dudes half-heartedly arguing over the best brand of mayonnaise.
I first savored the food in this restaurant when it was located on East Colfax. In those days, they had a buffet that could not be beat. Even though I wanted to save money, I still ended up buying single entries because the food was rich in those subtle flavors so characteristic of Thai cuisine.
I was broken hearted when they closed shop; elated when my Google brought up this new location.
Yes, the food was still great. No buffet though, at least not that I could see.
This is one of those places I take people to and say "Everything here is good." Great place to experiment with different dishes.
I talked with the couple who run the place. Very nice folks. They had dropped out of business to support their daughter's effort to attend college. Now that she has graduated, they decided to reopen at a new location.
Other Thai restaurants strike me as too modernized and 'hip' for my tastes. When I go out to eat, I like simple, fresh, and tasty food, with some connection with its origins. Thai Landing meets all those criteria.
Perfect for a quiet lunch when all I want are my own thoughts to go with a tasty meal.
I have a compulsion to eat at restaurants that haven't been Yelped. Â Sometimes I find new, incredible, undiscovered gems. Â But more often than not I end up eating some wack food. Â I don't like writing bad reviews about small, family-run operations - but every once in a while, a restaurant will deeply offend my taste buds. Â That restaurant is Thailanding Cafe. Â The quality of food served here is really, really bad. Â The deal breaker for me was the really old, moldy tasting bean sprouts in the drunken noodles. Â A smart crappy restaurant would have tried to hide the sprouts with heavy seasonings or very conservative usage. Â Thailanding decided to go with a very liberal use of their bean sprouts, as if they hadn't gone bad already and they were trying to get rid of them before they went bad. Â Nope. Â They were bad. Â Probably two days ago.
Review Source:Had lunch from here on Tuesday. I ordered the Hot Spicy Thai (stir fry chicken with chiles and basil over rice) and ordered it extra hot. I love spicy food!!! The meal was delicious, though this time they did not give me the extra hot (in fairness i placed multiple orders- first time they missed it) I've tried a few others dishes from this place and haven't been disappointed yet. It's cheap (about $6 for lunch) and there was plenty to fill you up.
I also ordered a Mango Boba slush drink. Â If you haven't tried this odd tapioca ball drink it'll surprise you. You'll either love it or hate it. They are really good but strange the first time. I now love them.
I've never ate at the place, only picked up, but there is seating and the place looks pretty clean.
I was overfull when I gorged myself on my favorite spicy dish, so good though!!!
