Napoleon slices from here = heaven.

I've been coming here for years.  You point at what you want, and they fill up a box with all the goodies.  One thing that is ALWAYS in my box.  2 Napoleon slices.  Must try!

I don't need to say much this place is pure awesomeness!!! My waist line might beg to differ but my taste buds love it.. I had the Napoleon, and Mocha loved them both.. I took a box home and everyone loved it as well it was devoured within a few hours. I'm not sure how these cakes hold because they never last more than a few hours in my home. Can't wait to come back soon

I had to find a cake to bring to a baby shower, somewhat last minute (we thought we were getting one from someone else, but that fell through). I ordered a yellow sheet cake the day before the shower, and expected.... a simple yellow sheet cake with white icing. I didn't ask for any kind of fruit filling because some people don't like those, some people have allergies, which is why I kept my order very simple and basic. When we cut into the cake, much to my surprise and delight, we had what was indeed a yellow cake- but 3 or 4 layers of it, with a wonderful vanilla pudding-like filling between the layers. Everyone at the shower LOVED this cake and many went back for seconds- which, from what I've seen at most parties is rare- usually there is a cake there, to be traditional, but either the frosting is nasty or the cake is nasty and most people don't end up eating much of it. Not this time. Literally everyone there was raving about this cake! The whipped frosting is not my thing- I typically prefer the heavy buttercream- but, with the vanilla filling, the whipped frosting was perfect on this cake. I would definitely buy from them again and recommend them to friends!

If you are looking for a chocolate cake here (and they have so many kinds), the strawberry black forecast is the best one IMO.  It's not too sweet, has chocolate cake with whipped cream and strawberry in the middle, and chocolate dipped strawberry on top.  It's delicious.

I agree with a previous poster their cakes don't keep well.  They get very "wet".  So you should eat it within 48 hours which is not a problem in our household either.

Love all the pastries and cookies I've eaten here! The chocolate croissant is amazing. My favorite treat is the polvorones con dulce de leche, two shortbread cookies with amazing dulce de leche filling in the middle.

Great place for cakes (the round ones - I don't know if the birthday cakes are different).  Our friend brought over a chocolate cake with choc mousse filling and it was delicious!  Not overly sweet, great flavor and moist.  I got a cake for my son's 1st communion and was not disappointed in the flavor  Unfortunately they used blue icing for the wording and little cross (it was on a light tan background with chocolate frosting so it looked odd and was not very well done)  - must be specific if you want the round cakes worded.  The coffee flavored cake was out of this world.  Again, icing and filling were buttery smooth and not overly sweet.

Fabulous cakes, tres leches is my fave!

I was psyched to walk in and see individual slices of layer cakes  i ordered the mocha cake.  Unfortunately, the yellow cake was doused in rum - not my preference.  Also, majorly waxy frosting.  I might try another alice, but wouldn't get mocha again.

The palmier was quite tasty, nicely flaky all the way through.  i would definitely have another if I'm in the area.

Been here a few times and tried different cakes. Each one has not been a bad experience at all--although I do have my favorites. Ironically, the yellow cake with fruit on top is my favorite since I didn't think I would like it at all. People on here call it the fruit cake but that's not an accurate picture. Fruit cakes make me think of those nasty hard things people give out at XMAS. This one is soft, moist, and just the right level of sweetness. Fruit toppings are very fresh.

Black forest tiramisu, and tres leches cakes are also just as good here. Customer service is great. The girls are super nice, helpful, and know about their products. They have cookies and other baked goods here but I've never tried them. They sell the large round cakes in various sizes. If you're not sure which cake to get, they also sell them in slices! Prices are decent for the quality cake you're getting. If you want overly sugary, processed, cheap cake, then go to the grocery store. But don't complain why no one wants seconds. I buy my cakes here now for special occasions--and they never last long at a party. The cakes themselves usually last 1-3 days depending on how you store them.

Love this bakery! I asked the clerk for some of her favorites once and ended up with some very tasty pastries. Everything is so delicious, you really can't go wrong here!

This place has the best fruit-topped cakes in town!

They are worth the price: ripe fruit, moist cake, and delicious frosting!

What more can I say but delish! I have been getting my cakes here since my first baby shower (in 1999) and in a few we will be ordering my daughters quince cake from here as well. Not to mention they brought back the chocolate crossaint! I used to get that when I was 9/10 years old. The fruit cake is to die for.

    Mr. Sunman here:

Love this bakery. When I go to Dogfishhead for lunch in the parking lot, I always stop and get some bakery items.  Cake all rave about is that good!  Butter cream, fruit on top and almonds on the side, try a small one next time you throw a dinner party of special event.

Not too often you find a French sytle bakery with a Mexican-Hispanid influence too.  Love both the Spanish and French items...try what you think you will like...you will like it all.  Try the choclate and cream missed mouse...yes, mouse not mousse.  My wife loves them.

Worth the trip, and then try a few beers and lunch at Dogfishhead microbrewery.

Holy mother of God. I go to my step moms for dinner. Someone gave her a cake from here for her birthday. It was already sliced into and three days old. It was the BEST cake I have ever had in my life. It is the one that is mentioned many times in these reviews. The fruit cake with the almonds on the side and the custard filling. I am a super harsh critic unlike a lot of people who are forgiving. I am planning on going there to get this cake for my Husbands birthday.

What a great surprise. I judge all bakeries by one standard : buttercream chocolate cake - its a pass/fail system if you will. This is a pass!

The bakery is tucked into Seven Corners and I only decided to come after seeing alot of trucks bearing the colorful logo - If they need a truck that size, they must be good, right?

Went on a Saturday afternoon --what a line, well not really a line but a push to the front for your turn kinda deal. All good, they are super polite and informative. Went for the chocolate cake, but they have many, many reasonably priced pastries, cookies and other delights. And great coffee!

The 8" cake was only $23. And very good, fluffy and moist and the icing was just right. I would definitly go back for an office party or sheet cake--they were flying out the door. Waiting in line I saw 9 cakes go by. Impressive!

A nice independent bakery with a large variety of sweet items and cakes. They seem to specialize in custom cakes for special occasions. The customer service is mostly good, but they can get overwhelmed at times with some of the large groups that come in. The prices seem to be really good value on most items. There's a limited amount of seating if you want to eat there, but it's basically a carry out place. I prefer to come here over Starbucks to get a drip coffee and pastry if I'm in the area.

Finally got to this other location...usually hit their Annandale shop.  Friendly staff and easy parking once you fight your way into Seven Corners area and make sure you go 25 miles per hour in Falls Church.  There are speed cameras.  Anyway, I always buy their Quesadillas...which is a misnomer...what I am actually buying is like a corn bread with parmesan type cheese mixed in and sesame seeds on top.  This is a popular item in Central America-especially El Salvador.  Recommend trying it.

I need to go in for round two--ding! But thus far, everything was lacklusterly dry, from the almond croissant to the five other things we bought.

The tres leches cake was saccharine somehow, it really missed the delicious mark. The girls behind the counter were legit sweet, though, and the cakes are a great price, so I'm there for the next birthday purchase.

My family loves this place. I find it really hard to hate Latin style bakeries (But then again, I'm Hispanic) Its a bit of a drive to get there (That's how the DMV is :P) but its worth it. its not pricey like a lot of bakeries are and the pastries come out delicious.

Place is delicious!  I have been getting baked goods here for over 5 years now and have no complaints.  The staff is very friendly, the cakes are moist and delicious, and all the other items are good too.  Everything is fresh and the owner stays late and works early to prepare the items so they are fresh.

I would highly recommend the fruit topped cake with almonds around the sides.  Unlike other bakeries (esp. the Korean ones) in the area, the cakes here are moist and fluffy, but not like eating a sponge.  Also, they use custard, not whip cream.  I really enjoy everything they have here, and are reasonably priced.

The cake with fruit on top, bavarian custard filling, and almonds on the sides.

That cake is so good it gets this place a 5 star rating.

Other reviewers call this cake a fruit cake (which it is), but that tends to confuse (white) people.

This little latin bakery gets packed on holidays with people nearly lined out the door getting the cake I mentioned.  Other cakes are not nearly as good (strawberry shortcake).  Haven't tried the rum balls or cookies, but the other reviews are tempting me.

How does a fat boy top off an All You Can Eat (AYCE) lunch outing?

Well he waddles his fat ass over to the bakery 2 doors down and buys 5 pounds of cookies.

    Yep, that really did happen...

After stuffing my face, I walked over with my buddy Steve and we picked up a huge box of assorted cookies.  Truth be told, the cookies were for the boss lady who enjoys some something sweet (besides my sweet kisses) after a long day of watching the two monkeys.

As I picked out an assortment of cookies for the wife, Steve pointed out some tasty looking cookies and cakes that I may have to try out for myself on our next visit.  One such cookie was the pecan chocolate chip cookie which looked very tasty.  They also had a huge assortment of tarts, danishes and fruit topped mini-cakes perfect for satisfying a fat boy's sweet tooth cravings.

The service was friendly but the place was pretty busy for the middle of the day.  One lady (owner or a regular) was typing away madly on her computer with paper laid out all over the table before her.  The only reason I mention her here is that she was on her cell phone and was talking in an annoyingly loud volume that made all us patrons turn around and take notice.

    Silly dame...

Now on to the taste of the cookies.

After finishing up the day of work and heading home, I presented my better half with the box 'o cookies.  We tried them out and were not wowed and were not disappointed.  The taste of the cookies were simply "enh" but I would definitely like to go back to try out some of the other cakes and treats in the display case.

Also after reading Tina R's review I'd love to try out the rum infused cake...

Alcohol + cake = Buzzed and happy fat boy

I'll keep you posted after my next trip.

They have a selection of good-looking baked goods and all the cakes look quite delicious. Unfortunately the few things I've tried didn't hit quite do it for me.

The oatmeal raisin cookies are different from what you usually get. They have shredded coconut in them so if you're not a fan of coconut, stay away. The brioche is meh, I don't recommend getting it. It's not as buttery as it should be and it is definitely missing the slight sweetness it's supposed to have.

I might stop in again if I'm in that strip mall and am craving something sweet, but I wouldn't make a special trip to Seven Corners just for that. Besides, there are bakeries in Eden that are much better.

I think this is a great bakery that is local to our area.  There's also one located in Annandale too.  The prices are very reasonable.  Much more reasonable than the Korean bakeries in the area.  What I love most is the cakes are not super rich or sweet.  My favorite cake there is the fruit cake.  The service is very professional as well.

Big selection of sweet pastries. Only been here once but seems like a great place. Although I can't say I'm a fan, I certainly can see why other people are. Definitely worth a try.

Really delicious stuff, from the traditional french pastries like napoleon and buttercream cakes, to latin delicacies like quesadillas (the cakelike pastry, not the melted-cheese-between-tortillas deal) and tres leches.  Excellent prices, too.  It's probably a good thing that I don't live nearby, otherwise I would go there way too often.  It's a pit stop for me when I take trips to Eden Center, which is across the street (sort of, seven corners is a clusterf*ck).

Delicious things I've tried: bread pudding, tres leches cake, quesadilla, almond croissant, fruit topped cake, napoleon, elephant ear, apple tart, brioche.

Good to know: the bakery takes Visa, MasterCard and Discover.  And it's closed on Sundays.

Truthfully, it's one of the best bakeries that isn't overpriced but still delicious.
The cakes are very fresh and french inspired, the bavarian cream is amazing (get the strawberry napoleon and you'll see what I mean)

The prices are good for the size of the pastries....no worries, you won't find $5-$6 mini pastries here.
I would recommend the strawberry napoleon, white chocolate cake and the fruit tart.  The tart base is always crunchy and not soggy, the cream is always fresh, and the strawberries are normally a decent size.
I'll probably get my future wedding cake here, unless I decide to make my own!

This is a great bakery. They have a great selection of cakes. My favorite that we get for my son't birthday is their traditional cake with custard & fresh fruit in the middle. The cake is always moist and yellow. They also carry a great variety of pastries. I usually get the Salvadorean Quesadilla. Its perfect with a cup of coffee.
