I came into town and met a group of friends here for a night out to celebrate my wife's birthday. Â The was enough room to support a large table and the service was quick and friendly enough. Â
It is not too loud to carry on a conversation. Â Parking is adequate. Â The place is clean and non-intimidating. Â After drinking beer for several hours, I was so surprised by the amount on the bill being so low, that I wanted to stay for another two hours. Â
I will return!
This is a great divey bar. Â The regulars are friendly, and the bar staff is smart, quick, and talented. Drinks are reasonable, and strong. There's ping pong in the back, and foosball. Large tables are good for groups, and there's a smoking area outside. I haven't had any food, but intend to. Â I'll be back!

During the Cruisin' the Gut, there were only bartenders inside and they were ON IT! I was impressed. They could have been cranky because it was non-stop but they were smiling and just going through the bartop. It was really nice to see and made for a pleasant visit.
During Cruisin' the Gut, they gate off a large portion of the parking lot so you can drink and see the cars. You can enjoy being outside or inside. Â I will definitely go back!
I am very happy to have Tip Top about 2 blocks away from home.
It is the perfect bar to just pop into to have a drink and relax. This is not a pretentious crowd, It is a mix between young and old people just looking to have fun for a bit.
The bartenders are so attentive, friendly and helpful it's a bit alarming.
Their drinks are not over priced and wednesday 50 cent tacos is the perfect deal.
Tables are big enough for a big group, but I like to go there with my bf to have a drink, play some ping pong and beat all the records on buck hunt.
So definitely come to Tip Top, but dont you dare beat my score.
Tip top is nice for larger groups (I think there were 15 of us last night) because they have lots of big long tables. The regulars are always glad to scoot over or give you their extra chairs.
I was amazed at how efficient the bartenders were. The place was packed, because of 50 cent taco Wednesday, and there were only two girls running the show. They were pouring, clearing tables, and cooking, and they did it all with a smile. No one in our group had to wait more than three minutes for a drink, and they checked on us often. It was the best service I've had in a very long time.
If you're not going with a group, there's lots of ways to entertain yourself. They have tv's, a juke box, and lots of pull tabs. If I lived closer, tip top would be my regular hang out.
This is a fun little divey bar that I've frequented over the past few years. Â I've never really eaten here myself, but my friends are big fan of Taco Wednesdays. Â The drinks are cheap and strong and they have a nice selection of beer. Â And ice cold jager.
The bartenders are pretty awesome. Â I watched one extinguish a drunk douchebag's cigarette on her palm once because he was smoking inside. Â They're very friendly (unless you're a dick, then they're just friendly) and always remember what I'm drinking. Â If it's not packed then they'll check in on you frequently. Â They can call me "sweetie" and it doesn't make me want to hit them, so that's really saying something.
Other highlights: Big Buck Hunter, pool/ping pong table, an outdoor area, TVs (sports and the Food Network are pretty much always playing on some of them), pull tabs.
Burger of the year -- a half pound of beef, thick slice of onion, tomatoes, pickles -- you get the idea. There's a large horseshoe counter, lots of tables, some outside seating, friendly service, not too loud, pool, video games, punch boards, beer and liquor. I don't usually rate taverns, but if you want a real burger later in the day, or on Sunday near downtown Vancouver, this one's as good as they come. M-F 6am-2am, Sat-Sun 10am-2am (posted Jun-2008). Late night menu limited, call first.
