Nice Irish pub with a nice atmosphere and the requisite draft beer selection, situated inside the hotel with a student staff. Service was hit and miss; missed place settings, one course too early the next a tad tardy, dirty dishes lingering. The NY strip was a perfect Pittsburgh med. rare and very good, as was the chocolate mousse torte. However the cream sauces and bisque were not Julia Child, not even Rachel Ray.
The duo that entertained us were very enjoyable and did not preclude conversation.
Waitress - awesome, she got TJ Maloney's that 3rd star.
It's a bar/grill in the Radisson Hotel...
You'd figure that being in a hotel and all that, they'd be used to seating customers quickly, being properly staffed and ready to get you fed.
Noooope, stood at the "please wait for the hostess to seat you" sign for 10 minutes before just walking over to the bar and asking for a table... still no idea where the hostess was at the time.
Got seated, the waitress came and got waters and bread pretty quick so props to her. We ordered our food and drinks, the drinks came out quick but apparently there was something up with the kitchen staff because 'I'm sorry, it's taking longer than expected". We were only seated for 15 minutes, no biggie I'm patient., plus we had our soup and salad already. Another 15 minutes, a drink refill and serving of bread and butter... still no steak, still no pasta. I asked our waitress what was going on and apparently they were behind back there and that they'd get out food out asap.
Fine... OK, we wait (most awkward "not-a-date-date" ever). Food came out shortly thereafter, good thing too because we were both thinking about just paying for soup, salad and drinks and finding someplace else.
As far as the food goes, it was pretty legit. My steak was cooked Medium - hot and pink, tender and juicy, the mashed potatoes were phenom.
I'd probably give it another go some time, maybe some folks called off last minute or something... aside from the hostess sitch and the kitchen turtles, service was good.
