Very aesthetically pleasing bar with nice staff and customers!  My roller derby league was skating through Tower promoting our next bout, etc. and a really nice lady flagged us down and invited us into the bar.  Then she bought us all a round of drinks on her!  We posed for pictures and mingled with the other bar patrons.  We all had a great time!

I have been reluctant to write a review of Tower Sports Club because I really want to love this place, but after my most recent experience, I finally felt compelled to Yelp...

I have been coming here off and on since it opened. I am a Livingstone's person, but come here to mix things up. The venue itself is decorated with care and attention. I am sensitive to ambiance, and this place delivers. Most likely the ambiance is the reason I want to love this place so much. Drinks are cheap, and usually poured on the heavy side. Cheap drinks and a heavy pour? I can get on board with this.

The bartenders are another story - they're terrible. The older, sloppily dressed lady takes her sweet time to pour a drink. She's been taking her time for months - would think she'd get the hang of it by now. She's nice enough, awkward as hell, but she's no bartender. They have a younger guy now who is more bartender material, but doesn't know his liquor. I'm sure this will improve. The venue is gorgeous - the owner obviously has pride in it - so why not take the time to properly train your bartenders??

But let's get to the dirty. A few weeks ago, after finally deciding this place has the worst well vodka in Tower, my friend takes issue with the pour on his Guinness beer. The owner's response, you may be wondering? "I've been pouring beer for eight months!" Wow - you really showed him! Note to self: don't order a Guinness here! But then it got worse...

A bystander was listening in on this short Guinness-induced conversation between my friend and the owner, and this intoxicated bystander decides to get into an argument with the owner after my friend relinquishes and returns to our small group. The owner - with full right - decides to kick him out. That's fine. The bystander was pissed off and wasn't leaving. As the young male bartender came around the bar to, I assume, escort the intoxicated man out, the owner PULLED OUT A BAT and THREATENED the guy! Not knowing really what was happening - all I saw was the owner threatening a patron with a weapon!

Needless to say, I don't feel safe at Tower Sports Club any longer. I really wanted to like this place... The End.

Went here with a group a bit back. I loved the atmosphere. it wasn't your typical "sports bar". It had a vintage library feel to it, complete with wing back chairs and lovely painted walls. The atmosphere was my cup of tea. The prices were decent, the owner was bartending and was very polite to me. He was a little heavy handed with the rum in my rum and coke, but I guess that's better than the other way around? All in all nothing special, but I'll go back.

I have been to this place a few times now , They have great decor and clean venue . I have had no issues with their location or selection of drinks. Perhaps I just do not know the reasoning but I found the owner rude. As it got close to closing time he was rather vocal to have drinks picked up finished or not and to have people to just get out. I did not favor for swear words which had got used to get a customer out the door.  No one else may have this experience other then the crowd tonight. I wish this business the best .

Well... the bar now has Fireball - so upping to 4 stars. BUT it is called Tower SPORTS Club and they have a pool table with NO pool table light... so still can't give 5 stars. The bartenders are friendly and fun and go out of their way to make your time spent there enjoyable. Definitely recommend stopping in and grabbing a drink.

I recommended this place to a friend coming into town with his grandfather just last week but after last night's experience I will not recommend it to anyone I know ever again.

The bar is great.  They have potential to be my favorite spot to hang out BUT... I have a pretty high tolerance for "boys will be boys" type behaviour.  I don't get offended by off color comments just because they are off color.  All that being said, I found the bartender (owner) to be SOOOO offense last night that I will never be back.  He was just shooting the breeze with his buddies which shouldn't be a problem but this GUY letting his true colors show was just racist/sexist/disgusting.

    The END.

I will have to say we had little to no intention of walking into this place when we left the house for a friends bday get together. Ya see, we are 'Stones people and have always been and always thought we would be however after they were unable to accommodate our large group without reservations we decided to give Tower Sports Club a try. Walking in I already felt very welcomed...no daunting looks from the patrons already sitting at the bar or even staff. When we first walked in, the bar smelled like a seedy hotel, but in a good way, if that makes any sense. I was immediately pleased with the old Victorian style seating....they provide big comfy chairs with good lighting at the front of the bar and there is also a very long bar, with comfortable seating and even more tables set on the opposite wall which had a more gloomy dim lit feel. The service was very friendly, the pours were generous and the prices were very acceptable. The only downside is that they do not serve food, but I will have to say they didn't seem to have ANY problem with us ordering pizzas and having them delivered while we were there. As the night progressed they began to play jazzy lounge music which I will have to say was a nice change of pace. It gave the place an older more sophisticated feel, which I have come to realize may be exactly what I'm looking for. Only time and future visits will tell if this will be our new local hang out spot.

    Still three stars.

A plus is the price of the well drinks and most beers, which is a little less than some other Tower places.  One downside is how on a couple of occasions I've had a hard time getting a drink when half or fewer than half of the seats at the bar were taken.  I sat for 10 minutes once and waited while the tall bartender held court with some women at the end of the bar.   This has happened a few times when he's been serving.  I don't think he does it on purpose, and he seems like a pretty decent guy; he just gets distracted in conversation with people and stops paying attention to the other customers sometimes.  It won't keep me from going back because the place is nice and the prices are right.

Went back a few times since my first few visits. On weekend nights it does get a little crowded at the bar and noisy, but still manageable. I like sitting in the old chairs with the leg rest, premium brew pub in hand while watching sports on the teles. I could easily fall asleep in those chairs. Free pool is a also an added kicker. The bartenders are chill to boot.

It was a little tough to find at first, with it not being listed many places, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got there. Usually Tower and sports aren't uttered in the same sentence, but this is a great new addition. The old-style furniture and the barrage of different games going on excited me when I first got there. My favorite part would have to be the interactions with the bartenders. Specifically Pete, the owner was really friendly, and always willing to have a conversation with everyone. It was a refreshing change from other places on Tower, where it takes you 10 minutes to get a drink, and they seem annoyed with you even asking for something. They only had about 6 beers on tap, but To be fair, they are still fairly new, and were getting a porter the next day. They do not have any food, but allow you to order pizzas, or bring in any food you like. Overall, I was very glad I was able to go here, and definitely plan on going going back next weekend. If you want a chill place to watch a game and meet new people, this is definitely the place for you.

This place is great and I love the furniture.  Ask the bartender Ruben to speak Cajun when you order your drink.

Hopped in here last night since our regular place was closed for new years day. We all totally fell in love! The service was fast, friendly, and generous. The owner was clearly excited to be open and chat with folks. The music is perfectly suited to the decor and atmosphere. There will be two Tvs to play requested games on but when not in use for sports they will display art. I think they have pizza available but that is the only food option at this point. Also, pool is free! Loved it, I will be back again soon.
