I used to love Tumbleweed a long time ago, and either my taste in food has changed or their food has changed. I honestly haven't been in years and wouldn't have went if it wasn't for a friend wanting to eat near the Big Four Bridge.
Our waitress was good but the food was severely lacking. The chips were fine, however, our salsa was more sauce that you could suck through a straw rather than any sign there were tomatoes in there. My diet coke tasted way too watery. And my chicken burrito was Ok but didn't have much flavor other than the weird aftertaste of the "sour cream style".
My experience was pretty meh-worthy but I didn't have high hopes going in. It's too bad because they have such a nice view.
We came in with four people in our group.  We ordered two burritos, a burger and a bowl of soup - not complicated stuff.  Our waitress Kalisha took a mental note of our order and didn't write any of it down.  Apparently Kalisha's memory could use some improvement and she came back  30 minutes later  to ask us to repeat our side items - obviously after this 30 minutes our orders were still not put it.  On account of this it  was no surprise when we had to wait  an hour and twenty minutes for our food.  When we finally got the food the soup was cold, and the burritos weren't as we ordered them.  It wasn't busy and the table next to us turned over twice by the time we got our food.  After the manager came over he did in all fairness take off 30% and we left with a few desserts.  Memorizing the orders of a few burritos isn't  an impressive skill and customers would much rather prefer their order right.  If the unfortunate situation occurs where you have to sit in Kalisha's section make sure she has a pen and a piece of paper to take your order or make sure you have at least two hours to waist.
Review Source:After reading many reviews about the chain (not this location in general, but of many of their locations) I expected not greatness.
This is not mind-blowing tex-mex. And there were some disappointing moments. But the food was mostly flavorful and filling.
On a Tuesday night, I was a bit annoyed at the 45 minute wait. I was even more annoyed at it after seeing that the inside seating options were at most half filled. And there appeared to be PLENTY of waitstaff. Though I heard at least 3 of them (our waitress included) warning of potentially slow service since it was their 1st or 2nd day on the floor.
My margarita was fantastic. The chips are bland-er than anything I've ever tasted. And the salsa looks like Catalina salad dressing (tastes...ok). We ordered queso for our chips, which came out 15-20 minutes later (which seems a little on the ridiculous side...) with our entrees...looked like it had been sitting for a while (it had a thick layer of that cooling-cheese-film covering it).
My meal was pretty decent though. Beef and cheese chimichanga sour cream style. Very tasty.
