One of my friends just moved closer to me so she's inkling to explore the neighborhood. Lately, we've been driving around after work exploring. She saw this place in a place we didn't expect. Nice bar, cash only so the first time we only went for a drink. The next time my friend wanted to check it out longer so we did, stayed a bit, watched a baseball game, got some snacks, talked to a lady bartender who seemed to know everybody coming in cause she greeted them like she knew them. The two times we were here seemed like they were locals but older crowd. We came on a weeknight so that's probably why it was slower. We'll have to check it out on the weekend, maybe invite some other friends.
Review Source:It's a small local bar that gives you that welcoming cheers vibe. Drinks are cheaper but cash only.
Crowds very friendly made really good friends here. They also have fun dance nights during the week with great djs and a juke box on the other nights.
Britney the bartender is a bundle of positive energy. Not only does she make delicious drinks she also puts a smile on your face! She's the most sweetest person you'll meet in your life. Go in and ask her to show you her salsa moves.
Its a hole in a wall, if your looking for a night to party this is not the place. You get the ghetto young crowd and some nights you get the quiet older crowd. God was awesome enough to put it right across the street from my job, so after a long day of dealing with peoples cars and their bullshit, this is my spot to drink and wind down with my buds from work. Only thing i hate is it cash only but hey given the area I would do the same, especially with all the identity theft and fake cards going around. Drinks are not outrageous, average prices and dave is pretty chill. The better nights were when i would race over here with my buds to finish watching the games that had been playing while we were at work(football).
Review Source:Typical dive bar with a ghetto twist! Dj is so so. Drinks are cheap and strong. Â ppl who come here hip hop young croud. It can sometimes get a little roudy. I have seen people show up in hoodys and jeans, house slippers, scarfs on their heads etc. so basically there is no dress code. The owner is a little Chinese lady who sometimes shows up and shows out if she doesn't like what's going on. They have a pool table, video arcade game, jukebox, and clean bathrooms.
Review Source:Last time I was there I saw a guy beat up 4 russians and then drive off in his tiny honda civic which had an Operation Iraqi Freedom sticker on the back yelling "Chinga Tu Madre" = translation = "fuck your mother." Â I hope these guys were ok but I left quickly after this. He was also yelling something about how John Mccain should have won the presidency and that in his mind America won Vietnam.
Ps. I think he's related to that retired cop in the below post.
This is the WORST bar I have ever been too. I went to my friend's birthday party here. After reading the reviews I thought "Hey this place seems chill" Â That was NOT the case.
I went on a Saturday night and there was no entry fee and once you're in you can see why. This place is absolutely Ghetto! A bunch of underage kids ranging from 17-20. The all openly admitted they were in high school and come here often! Â
The DJ sucks and the mic was messed up so you couldn't understand a word that was being said.
There is no dress code, but come on people! Who goes for a night out in their Sweatpants, slippers, and White Ts that look like dresses, I'll tell you who---people that go here.  I was surrounded by "BGP" in tight spandex or sweats. When a slow song came on I thought I was at freak nik when girls got on the floor and allow multiple men to touch them or  hand down @$$ up happened.  By far my worst experience in the Bay :(
PROS: Â NONE
CONS:
Underage kids are allowed here
BGP
Women dancing barefoot
Ghetto
I recently moved to this area and drive by this place frequently. It's a little dive bar-ish when you see it but that's what I'm in to, so I decided to check it out.
I stopped in one night to have a beer and shoot some pool and was really surprised, it had a what looked like a well stocked bar, a decent pool table and the thing that I loved the most was the out door patio which was cozy and very inviting!
I don't remember what day I went but it wasn't crowded and we had the pool room all to ourselves, which I love!
Tuesday nights, post-softball. Â I'm here...along with a bunch of my other softball peeps. Â The bartender is cute and funny and will experiment with drinks. Just don't trust him when he says...this is great! you gotta try this!
Come here with a crowd of folks during the week cuz you pretty much have the place to yourself. Â There are always a few oddballs here that make things interesting! Â Wait. Â That might be me. Â Anyways...I hear it's much busier on the weekends.
i used to accompany Mace M. to this fine little establishment on mondays to play some pool and drink some beers. it was definitely a good time. it wasn't as "divey" as some bars i've been to and had a full array of alcohol to quench the thirsty palate. Like Mace said the patio was the best part about this place. It was like chilling in someones back yard, drinkin beers and havin a good time.
Review Source:The Usher is a place I used to frequent with friends on Mondays. It's a small little dive in San Lorenzo. Theres an internet juke box, so if they don't have the song you can download it, for a price of course.
The beers are cheap, $7-10 a pitcher, but only few on tap. Plenty of bottled beers and all the alcohol for any mix drink you could think up, and friendly bartenders to serve you. They have a pool table in the back, and its usually free to play on as long as one of the teams are playing on it. There are televisions on all the walls, usually has some sports up on it, basketball/baseball/football.
The back area is one of the best parts of this place. It feels like home. A patio complete with a fountain and pond, a canopy, tables and chairs. There's even a stereo and a television out back.
A bit strange, but funny all the same is their crane game machine. For fifty cents you can get a chance to win a stuffed animal, a flashlight, pocket knife, or a porno. Yes, I said it, 50¢ porno.
this place is located in the sidestreet directly behind the starbucks shopping center. entrance is in the back.
there's many flatscreens here,  one turned to baseball, the other to nascar. another one in the rear room with the pool table wasn't on. this place is bascialy a long bar with 20 small tables for 2 in front of  it.
the patrons here all seem to have military experience either in 'nam, iraq, or afghanistan. also, they know of someone who is currently in the iraqi theater. i've spent a long time talking with a former oaktown cop who was in 'nam. he was recalling crazy ollie north antics in undercover missions in north vietnam. he seem to enjoy talking to me.  i wonder would he be surprised  to find out i was protesting the war in the streets of berkeley and san francisco at that time?
this bar is solid mccain turf.
menu: 2 drafts, few bottled beers...
