We order from Viccino's every few weeks. Â Their pizza is good--but far too salty. Â I wish they could cut back. Â I do like that they offer a whole-wheat crust option though. Â Still, there's really no contest against the pizza "big boys". Â Viccino's sandwiches are reliably good, though since I discovered how good and better priced the sandwiches are at Gusto, I'll probably order much less frequently from Viccino's.
Everything is a bit on the pricey side (except for the individual slices of pizza), though the coupons they run in the mail sometimes help a bit. Â The staff is very friendly, and I appreciate that.
Overall pretty good pizza
I never quite like the employees though. Â They are the post-fratboy types, so you wonder about what they might be doing in the kitchen. Â They also have a no-nonsense attitude about them, such that if u behave in any way out of the small-talk dumbed-down norm, they will be shocked by it. Â Due to these intuitions, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
The other problem is their pizzas are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Â Slices are priced fine, but the whole pizzas + toppings can add up real fast. Â Although their pizza is good, it's not THAT good for the price.
My experience has always been fine though. Â Great, large slices of pizza, and they have 2 TV's. Â They are willing to switch the channel to whatever u want.
I'd like to try the other location on Willow Rd. that's closer to the highway. Â From the outside it looks like a more down-to-earth family-style place.
Good sauce, good cheese, good crust -- an all-around decent thin pizza.
But for the life of me, I don't know why so many places insist on cutting a round pizza into square "party cut" slices. For thin crust pizza, the crust is a handle. All pieces should have a handle! Cut it into wedges!
A 14" large is 13.95. There are always $3 off coupons in mailers that come around a few times a month. So that gets it down to 10.95 + tax.
I think a 14" pizza makes a pitiful thin large. A 14" deep dish or stuffed is fine as a "large", those things are dense! But a large, thin pizza needs more surface area - 18" diameter or so.
If you go in to Viccino's for lunch, you can get a thin slice for $3(!). But the interesting part here is that the slice is both a wedge, and was taken from a pizza with a much larger diameter -- I'd say 18" or 20".
Now Viccino's can that fifth star from me if they start selling and ACTUAL large pizza and have it priced at about $12 after coupon.
They can get a mythical sixth star if they get aggressive and make it an under $10 "pick-up only" special on whatever their slow day(s) are. Monday?
After our misfortune, the owner telephoned me that their POS system is rather old and there are times when a receipt may be lost or late. Â He was extremely generous and offered us a free pizza. Â I called to order the pizza. Â A worker remembered my name and asked if the owner contacted me and how sorry they were. Â He said I had a free pizza coming. Â When I went to pick up the order, he offered me complimentary cookies, which i didn't take. Â
All businesses have their flukes; this time the owner made it right! Â Thank you Viccino's for your great tasting pizza and customer focus!
Holy cow!
Their sandwiches a.k.a. "paninos" are super huge. They remind me of new orlean's huge sandwich a.k.a. "muffaletta". The bread that comes the sandwich is jus so soft yet crispy. And their vinaigrette dipping sauce just seals the deal!
They also have daily specials usually around 5 bucks but you get more than your moneys worth!
It's a really cute place in a strip mall. They have 2 flat screen tvs, outdoor seating, and staff that make you feel like you're a great addition to the restaurant!
Five stars for great food, great presentation, great deals, 2 big tvs, and superb service!
Went in with my boss, and tried a deep dish pizza. I believe we got the Venice pizza. Though the pizza took a while, the pizza was fantastic! Im not a huge sausage fan, but the sausage in this pizza was yummy! The boss and I couldnt finish the whole thing, so we took it for lunch for the next several days.
The service, the owners, and the place in general are all fantastic!
I've been ordering pizza from them for years (also from Glenview) so I would be remiss if I did not put in a plug for them. Super pizza and I'm a little surprised people give it only 4. We always order thin crust pizza with pepperoni. Not greasy, Â thin and CRISPY crust (not doughy or bready). Their Ital. meatball sub at $6 is also a great deal, very good value food!
I give 5 stars because they ALWAYS have $4 off coupon and always honor it even if it's expired -- nice (after all what is the point of a coupon -- to get business, right??) . Some other pizza joints around N. Suburbs are also quite good but stingy with coupons.
Italiano Panino is a darn good sammich.. Â Also have had the Turkey Panino, Roasted Veggie Panino, Cobb Salad, Caesar Salad, etc. Â Love them too....but they don't stand up to the IP. Haven't gotten around to trying their pizza because I'm so in love with that IP. Â I'll get around to it sometime.
Review Source:They have bad pizza if you buy a slice. Â I came in and ordered a slice of pizza with two toppings. Â I waited 10 min when someone else walked in and ordered a slice. Â Four minutes later he gets is pizza then the cook asked me I what I ordered and seems he forgot one of the toppings. Â What a joke he comes back out with a cold pizza and a big cold pile of mushrooms on top of the the slice. Â The kid working at the counter didn't seem to be doing a thing other than talking on the phone with his friends. Â The pizza was uneatable this restaurant has extremely declined they don't seem to care about the quality or the service I will never come here again very disappointed.
