The Wall Street Cafe is a cozy little cafe on a neighborhood corner where people still eat breakfast and read newspapers (*large pieces of paper with typing and pictures on them).
Definitely off the beaten path but quaint. Decorated like your grandma's house with servers almost as sweet. They had a simple menu. Just enough choices to wake you up and get you going. The coffee was free-flowing, the servings were hearty, and contrary to other reviews, the place was sparkling clean.
Perfect local cafe! It's a place that no matter who walks in, they're family! The burger I had was huge and fantastic! It was a nice change to see on the menu "Hamburger and eggs" I added grilled peppers and onions and had a field day! I did snag a bit of my boyfriend's ham. I liked it so much, the one bit I snagged was all I got. I never get tired of visiting great local gems that are getting it right.
Review Source:This was the worst lunch I've had in Kentuckiana. Â We walked in and noticed a strange smell. Â We ordered a wall burger and the "huge" country ham sandwich. Â The burger tasted like it came from a cafeteria and the country ham was sliced so thin and sparce that you could practically see through it. Â It was not a large or filling sandwich. Â I requested extra pickle and was provided with three small pickle chips and charged 75 cents extra. Â As we were paying our bill, a dog came into the dining room from the kitchen, It was then we identified the smell - dog urine. Â NASTY!!! Â We did not return. Â I don't know if the place is still open as this was about a year ago.
