YES GAWD! Â Great Home-cooking. Â Brings back memories of the great Soul Food of the South. Â Homely look place......nice people.....community oriented (small senior meeting happening at the next table) ---been there three times and the food has been great each time. Â Candied Yams, Cabbage and Jerk Chicken--- the Bomb! Â Love it.
Review Source:Today it's pretty darn chilly out. Â And I forgot I was supposed to go to the DMV for a client and let my son take the car... So off I went to catch the train to Five Points DMV. Â It wasn't a bad day - I only had to wait an hour - but I sure was hungry when I got out! Standing waiting for the train, I look behind me and see "Mona's Wings & Things" and well, lunch won out over getting back to work!
And boy, did I ever make the right decision! Â I was looking at the menu thinking "how in the WORLD am I going to decide?" Â They have good ol' Southern food AND Jamaican yumminess! Â Then the sweetheart of a waitress happened to mention to me that they have brisket today and decision made! Â I got slaw and huspuppies, and some amazing cornbread. Â It was all good (and a lot - I had to get a box) and I will go back when it's not so ding dang cold!
Of course, I also had to let my son know right away - they have fried catfish! Â I personally can't stand fish - but that boy has been in love with catfish since he was about 4 years old (and he's 18 now). Â I guess I'll have to take him out to dinner!
