Westy's was the perfect place to have the after party for my wedding. The staff was wonderful to work with and went out of their way to make everything easy for us. They closed down the bar early so that we could have it to ourselves, and all of my guests commented on how friendly and upbeat the bartenders were. Thank you to Westy's for helping to make our day memorable!
Review Source:Love this place!
If you are looking for a place to hang for drinks (beer & wine only) and actually be able to talk to someone, this is the place.
The guys and I always head down here to play darts, pool, or foozball.
It is like hanging out in your best friend's living room EXCEPT you have to pay for the drinks.
Very cool place.
I like this place! I come in to get away from some of the larger places. Its really nice inside...feels like a proper english pub...with a twist. They even sell some cool antiques. Decent priced beer...no food..but great beer selection. They have menus for some of the places in the area and those places will even deliver to there. Roger is an awesome bartender and keeps us coming in. Im within walking distance so its a perfect place to walk and grab a pint in Point loma!
Review Source:Westy's is a one of a kind place. They have a nice selection of beer + wine, 2 nice pool tables, foos ball, tv room, board games, this place is just great.
The staff there (Roger, Chuck) are some great guys. Always attentive and if you're a local, they will greet you by name. Truly a neighborhood place.
There is a bartender (Kirsten?) who works there who is rude and not attentive, but since she is only there 1-2 nights per week, it doesnt take away from this great place.
We saw this place on Yelp and checked it out. Â It didn't disappoint! Â It's like drinking in your house, but a better, classier house with a lot more space and antiques! Â They have a cool, chill area where you can sit on the couch, read or play games... Â they also have a pool table. Â The bar is cool too. Â Our bartender was friendly but I liked that it was pretty quiet and he did his own thing, but was available when needed. Â Beer/Wine and they have chips available to snack on. Â When we're in Point Loma this is such a cool stop! Â Definitely check it out. Â Not a "scene" place, very mellow.
Review Source:When I rate a place I don't rate it on what it could be, or how I would change the business plan. I rate a place to how well I am treated (customer service), the ambiance (was the place dirty or clean, and did the surroundings make sense). I rate the quality of the served food or beverage and I rate the place for accessibility and ease of getting in.
Granted there are some things that every business could improve on, but yelp is rating a place based off of our experience at the place not if we think a OB bar needs to be a high end yacht club.
And I for one really enjoyed going into Westy's and checking out the antiques and enjoying a few pints. Cool place, very trendy feel. Very clean. The bar tender was top notch in service.
After reading reviews on this place, I had to check it out. Â It's truly beautiful inside. Â There were two pool tables, both with red felt and both in very good condition. Â I didn't have a drink, but did shoot a few balls and look around at the antiques for sale. Â The pool tables were free to play on too. Â There was one person working and there was no pressure to buy anything. Â There were only a handful of people there besides us and they were rather loud, but just having fun loud, not obnoxious or anything. Â The downside was they closed at 11:00. Â Very early for a Friday night, but it was a nice place and worth a visit a little earlier in the evening.
Review Source:Stopped into Westy's for a drink after having dinner at Garbardine, and was completely blown away when I walked in to the Tavern.
The tavern is spacious with a red velvet pool table, dark wood flooring, rich colors, a side room full of huge barco-loungers, fooz ball, dart boards, and tres' fancy with antiques for sale. The 'fort' is also held down by a really nice bartender!
Growing up in a household full of antiques, I simply could not fathom 'games', especially ones involving sticks and sharp points, with antiques. I could almost hear my mother screaming, "You and your friends out! You'll break the crystal!" But no..here I was in a place that handed me a beautiful smoky porter in a giant glass, and I was welcome to relax, play and shop. Â Ha..take that, Mom!
They also have a beautiful regular long bar counter, as well as separate cozy bar seating.
Where else can you get a killer beer, play pool & buy some kitsch?
This place is a riddle wrapped in an enigma that I absolutely adore.
Go check it out - great place to bring friends to hang out, watch a game, or to have a drink pre/post dinner locally. Â There's no food yet, but I think that's in the works....?
