This is one of the only hookah lounges in South OC. From a teenager's stance, this is great. It's somewhere you can hang out and smoke without having police bother you....
But from an average customer stance, this is the least attractive part of this establishment. It's just like any other hookah lounge, but instead of it being full of Persians and Indians and Middle Easteners, it's filled with OC bro teenagers, with their loud and overzealous attitudes. Most of these teens look like they're still in high school, but clearly not 18. The best outing days (Thurs-Sat night) are FILLED with teens, and anyone who isn't, feels entirely out of place.
The owner is a large Middle Eastern man, and seemingly friendly. But he's a little pushy when it comes to ordering, as if he wants you to leave as soon as possible. You feel rushed, and that's not appreciated. I say seemingly friendly, because it entirely depends on your gender. I was with a few friends, including my girlfriend, and the owner kept on hitting on her. Blatantly, right in front of me, and it was starting to creep her out. Clearly, not interested, he moved onto the other girls around the table, lingering around them, while they ordered their drinks. He even touched a friend's hand. TOTAL creeper.
This guy asked me for my ID, along with the other guys at the table, but didn't ask a single girl, which was alright because we were all of age, but the table next to us (all girls), weren't carded either, but they were definitely not 18. They honestly looked like 15 year olds, but probably were 16. Maybe 17. But the point is, I felt like a police officer, would bust in at any moment and arrest like half the lounge for being underage.
The hookah itself is okay. It's cool 'cuz they use an apple instead of a normal hookah chamber, but it's still a little pricy. But, it's south OC.
It's $22 for a hookah one refill. They have other specials. But that's the best deal. There's an all-you-can-smoke for $60. But that's excessive.
The servers are friendly, but all seem scared of the owner. Which gave the place a forbidding vibe.
The joint pool/ping-pong table is slanted, making pool ridiculous and NOT fun. Drinks are overpriced, but not unheard of. And the bathroom is a unisex bathroom, which (according to my girlfriend) was disgusting.
OVERALL. I would say, if you don't have any other place to go. Bring girls. But girls that wouldn't mind being hit on by a 40+ year old guy, just to get decent service. Otherwise, take your money and go elsewhere. Suggestion: Try the new place. Cafe 3 Sixty.
