Food is normally good but e warned THEY WILL REFUSE TO ACCEPT YOUR COUPON FOR DELIVERY. Â
This is something I feel they should make clear ahead of time instead of making me waste my money. They also refused to give me a refund for the voucher. The food does not justify the bad customer service here. After I use my coupon I will not go back
I stopped here after having to run an errand in Downtown Normal. I had never been there, but knew I wanted a Italian beef sandwich & fries.Walking in there the place was clean & the menu was above the counter in big letters.
I saw there board and decided to get there special on a combo with fries for $7.00- The combo had Italian beef & sausage with peppers(cheese was .50 extra)this was loaded with Italian beef and the sausage was cooked perfectly. The peppers were fresh & delicious.I will definitely be back to this place,it really hit the spot after a long day @ work.
I've been to WCW many times, and I have an admission. I've never once gotten a hot dog there. That's because their burger is one of the best in b/n.
They grill the burgers fresh to order, giving them that backyard over the fire taste. They aren't fancy. Cheese and basic toppings. Sometimes beauty is found in simplicity. Their fries are always hot. Good good stuff.
I'm guessing their dogs are good, too. I wouldn't know. I can't steer away from the burger, which is easily one of the top 5 in town.
I've had the chicken sandwich and their Italian beef and both were pretty good. Whenever I'm in the mood for chicken I go here because it's probably the best and healthiest around. The staff are super nice and it's not a bad place to eat in or carry out. The food takes no more than 10 minutes, but delivery can take a bit.
Review Source:After coming home to a menu hanging on our front door knob, we eventually ordered some hot dogs for delivery.
Note** I thought it was free delivery over $10, turns out that's only with the coupon on the back of that door knob menu**
The daily specials don't include a drink, just the dogs/ sandwich and fries, but the combos do. We got the Friday special, Â 2 Maxwell Polish sausages and fries, a chili dog, and a chicken tenders combo. The tenders were the same you get at Culvers, just smaller.
All in all, the dogs weren't bad, the fries could have been cooked more and the hour delivery seemed a little long considering they are close.
Not as good as Big Mouth's, but it is nice to be able to get a Maxwell Street Polish if I'm in the mood. The hot dogs are pretty good, but the burgers (especially in comparison to Big Mouth's) are just plain terrible. The fries are much better than any fast food place out here as well.
Review Source:So, I've started eating meat again. Â And, man.... I'm glad!
I've tried more than a few of the menu items on Windy City's menu!
Here's the deal: the Italian beef is amazing. Â It's fantastically spiced, well cooked and superbly topped. Â Same goes for my Chicago Dog exclamation, I haven't had an Italian Beef as good as this since I ate at Al's in Chicago. Â It was fantastic.
The Gyros at this place are decent, not the best, but I greatly enjoy them. Â For a quick Gyro in Uptown Normal, you can't beat it. Â It's a great place to try to almost any "Chicago Style" food.
Highly recommended.
On a friend's recommendation, I picked up a burger and a few chili dogs last night, and brought them home to share with my wife. Â It was remarkably good for what it was - yes, the burgers were frozen, but they were prepared just about perfectly. Â And the chili dogs had a good casing on them - they snapped, instead of smooshed. Â That makes them probably the best dogs in town - which is kinda like being the best igloo in hell, but take it for what it's worth!
We liked it enough that we went back today, and it was just as good or maybe a little better. Â I had a double cheeseburger this time. Â I would have gone with a gyro, but frankly, without feta (aka "as God intended a gyro to be"), it's not worth it.
For burgers and dogs, it's a worthwhile replacement for Big Mouth's, and a good addition to downtown Normal. Â We'll be back again, for certain. Â Maybe this week!
As a hot dog enthusiast, it generally takes quite a bit to be turned off by a hot dog. Unfortunately, WCW is a location I care to never visit again. For starters, much like Eric's review I was expecting Big Mouth's because i had gone there on my previous visit and thoroughly enjoyed their food. It didn't reinvent the wheel fast food wise, but it was quick and pretty tasty. Upon ordering WCW gets the quick portion down, but the taste? Well that is another story. First and foremost their hot dogs are Chicago Red Hots. While not the worst product in the world, it is definitely an inferior product to anything Vienna Beef has to offer. And their burgers? I mean really? This is the one item I love more than hot dogs and it was pretty obvious they used a pitiful frozen patty. If you really cared about this product, you would know to do otherwise. Goodness, do yourself a favor and do not support this location. You want to try better hot dogs and burger? Come to my place and I would be glad to serve you a meal infinitely better than anything this establishment brings forth. I really don't think the people at this location have ever tried a truly good hot dog in Chicago...
Review Source:Went here expecting Big Mouths and found new ownership, name change, and a reduced menu. I was not excited but gave it a try. The burger I got was a simple frozen patty you would get at any cafeteria, and I paid something like 8 bucks for a double burger fries and drink. Not planning on going back.
