Went for dinner on a school night with some friends based on recommendations from locals.  I can see why this place is a popular neighborhood hangout - good looking people and nice atmosphere.  We were expecting a gastropub from all the hype, but the food was quite disappointing. We shared about 9 dishes total, so had a representative  sample of the menu.  The words that come to mind for most of the dishes are "soggy" and "bland".  Also, I experienced none of the quirkiness or inventiveness in the food that you often see at real gastropubs.  The waitress was also completely clueless WRT any of the dishes and could not answer even our basic questions.  I would come back for drinks and just to hang out, but not for the food.
Review Source:Hidden in a non-commercialized area and with no sign on its building letting you know you have found it makes it interesting all on its own! As you walk inside you notice a very cozy atmosphere with seating that ranges from couches, to tables, to tall  tables. We all ordered the burger although the rest of the menu choices seemed delicious. First time in a place we always order a familiar food because if that does not make us come back - then nothing will. The caramelized onions mixed with barbecue sauce enhanced the flavors! For drinks I had the caipirinha but wished it was more traditional...the limes were not as muddled and it lacked more sugar. The staff was great and the general manager was very involved with his business, checking on all his customers. We agreed we will return again to try other options in the menu since the burgers was amazing- imagine how the rest of the menu options will taste?!
Review Source:I love this place! Nice big bar with tons of sitting room. Â There are also comfy couches and tables you can sit at if you don't like sitting at the bar. Â They have lots of yummy cocktails to choose from. Â I had their cucumber martini which was very refreshing. Â I also ordered the Scallops which were outstanding. Â Can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!!
Review Source:Live in the area...walked over to check this place out with my girl. Didn't go to eat...wanted to have a couple of drinks and chill. This place doesn't know what it wants to be. Floor to ceiling TV had basketball game (which few, if any were watching) which ruined the atmosphere for me...didn't think I was going to a sports-bar. Sat at a table along the wall...overhead spot lights made it feel like a KGB interrogation setup. Beer was cold. Male staff hitting on single females at the bar...one male staff member behind the bar doing shots with the ladies. Nothing here to bring me back.
Review Source:There is something about this place that I absolutely love. Â I am not sure if its the people or the decor. Â During the two times that I visited, I took my place at the bar and had a few drinky drinks. Â The staff was very friendly and the wait time to get a drink was short.
Both Saturday nights, they had a band playing and keeping the fun and friendly mood going.
I cannot vouch for the food here. Â They seem to change it often and prepare things on the spot. Â However, most of those meals include animal products. Â For vegetarian and vegans, you just have to ask and they will prepare a vegetable dish. I have just opted for the booze thus far. Â
I will definitely keep this place on my favorite drink hot spots for weekend nights.
Don't let the outside of this place influence you, it's kind of plain and I didn't see a sign. Â Once you are inside, I was surprised. Â It was very clean and a nice build out. Â It kind of looks more like a bar that serves food than a restaurant though (maybe that was their intention).
The food flavor was fantastic and that will bring me back in the future. Â Although, Â If you are looking for a big meal, this is probably not the place for you. Â The portions are quite small.
This place is great if you want a meal of "small plates" food, good beer on tap, and/or a mixed drink. Laid back atmosphere, the bar is becoming a regular hangout for those in the local hospitality industry; it's open later than many places in the downtown area, and the food is really damned good.
We had the beef skewers with chimichurri sauce: two skewers with two beautifully cooked hunks of meat on each, resting atop a bed of chimichurri sauce and two crostini on the side. We also had the halloumi plate: beautiful Lebanese style fried cheese with a tomato jam, olives and crostini to assemble. Yum!
The menu changes regularly based on seasonality and availability, so make sure you look at the printed menus by the door before you order.
3rd and 3rd is a bar you have to know you are looking for in order to find it with purpose. Â Otherwise, you may be stumbling around off the beaten path of Delray and notice it. Â Having no sign yet, you still would be curious as to what it is. Â Either way, step inside!
The bartenders here are great! Â I usually get waiting on by Erik - he is really friendly and can make you a delicious cocktail from their unique offerings.
The spot itself is awesome. Â If you have been to Sweetwater, it kind of reminds me of that. Â However, it is much larger. Â Very laid back, art on the walls that were all created by local artists, comfy couches, and a small patio with corn hole and a giant jenga back there. Â On weekend evenings you can find people coming in to play live music. Â Such a chill vibe.
What about the food? Â Freakin' awesome! Â The menu changes based on what fresh ingredients are available. Â I have tried the duck confit, escargot skewers, new bedford sea scallops, braised short rib, and the kale salad. Â I can't complain about a single dish I have eaten. Â Served small plate style, grab a couple and share with friends. Â You will not regret finding your way to 3rd and 3rd!
Meet what is destined to be the business that finally lasts in this spot at 3rd & 3rd. Â This spot seemed cursed for a time with business after business coming through and none of them really being able to make it. Â And it's to say this is a bad spot. Sure it is a little hidden but it has ample parking off the busy Ave and the inside has just had a great layout the entire time, spotlighted by the wonderful bar int he middle. Â Owner and chef JP was finally the one that took this bar full of endless potential and did something great with it.
The vibe is modern and maybe even a touch of class when you first walk in but things are incredibly casual there. Â The bartenders are relaxed in black tees and jeans and when you have a relaxed staff it shows. Â They are attentive and helpful.
The beer selection is quite good with 5 different beers on draft and word is that it is expanding to 10 soon. Â The rest of the beer is all in cans. Â This is a nice little quirk to the place with the popularity of craft beer in cans skyrocketing. Â They also offer a full bar with wine and liquor selections.
And with a chef of the quality of JP in charge you must expect great things coming out of the kitchen. Â My recommendation is go with a few friends, buy a few different dishes and share. Â The dishes by themselves for one person may be a bit small but with a few people sharing a few dishes will fill up pretty quickly. Â The burger is seared to perfection, the skewers are mouthwatering and the duck confit is out of this world. Â Though I haven't had it (yet) more than a couple of my friends have expressed their total satisfaction over the pork sandwich.
Prices are a tiny bit high but you are paying for great quality food here. Â And as I said if you take a few people it makes things better even for your wallet.
In the short time that 3rd & 3rd has been open it has already garnered a buzz. Â Most weekend nights are quite busy with the bar filling up rather quickly. Â With great food and drinks it's no wonder people are traveling off the Ave to come here.
After spending 2 days on the Atlantic Ave strip in DelRay, found this off the beaten path spot from a friend's recommendation- chillest and best bar/restaurant in town! If you are down to earth, enjoy truly great hospitality, top notch food (foodie food, not bar food) and spontaneous live music, this is your spot. It feels like going to a friend's house more than a bar. The kind of place I will definitely revisit next time I'm in town.
Review Source:By far the best place to be in Delray Beach! Â Great food, huge drink list, awesome staff, and always seems to have a great crowd. Â There's usually live music playing and has a feel to the place that separates them from other restaurants in town. Â Picture walking into a big living room with an even bigger bar/restaurant in it. Â I definitely see it as being a frequent place of ours to go to and hang out.
Review Source:A nice little (well it's actually pretty big) out-of-the-way bar. Decent selection of beer (mostly bottled) and wine. They have food but be aware they are tapas sized. I had a couple of skewers (one steak, one chicken). Both were tasty and served with some fried bread. Probably not enough for dinner unless you eat very light (Or have a lot of beer). Others tried the scallops (two large ones seared perfectly), the burger (probably a 4 oz.), and the haloumi (which he liked enough to get another). Our server was right on the ball. Neither too scarce nor overbearing.
They have a few couches in addition to the bar and the usual tables and chairs. There's a big screen TV that they at least use sometimes for sports.
Overall, a relaxing place for a drink and some appetizers.
