This place is so great. Â We did a Metra Wine Bar Crawl yesterday, and All Wined Up was our second stop. Â The owners and the other person working there (even though we were there for 2 hours and talked her ear off the whole time, we didn't catch her name) were so helpful, friendly, and fun. Â We had a really nice and reasonably-priced Merlot and the baked Goat Cheese and Boursin appetizer, and both were awesome. Â The decor is homey and welcoming, and the wine selection was great.
We will absolutely be back!
We found this village wine shop among other commuter-friendly businesses a few minutes walk from the Metra train stop. Â Inside we discovered a really friendly, family-owned treasure chest with wine-hued floors and walls, with a variety of small to larger tables and bar seating areas, surrounded by shelves of probably over 600 different bottles of wine. Â Maybe it's more a wine shop during the day, but it's a great gathering and entertainment spot at night. There's a choice of 30+ samples for flights or wines by the glass which we tried first, then we picked a full bottle from the shelf with a small corkage fee. Â At All Wined Up, wine is definitely the draw, and while the food seemed secondary to us on the surface, we noticed even simple items get more careful attention than many restaurants. Â We had the wine-friendly meat and cheese plates with a fresh baguette, which were served with gourmet/artisan flair, and are high value for reasonable cost. Â We've seen others have the specialty flatbreads and fondue, and look forward to trying that next time. Â The owners pour a lot of fun and passion besides wine, and it's easy to unwind and enjoy laughs and conversation with fellow patrons who were former strangers just an hour earlier. Â A real surprise on Saturday nights is the live entertainment. Â We've heard exceptionally good local artists in just a couple visits, which make us look forward to regular weekend stops.
Review Source:We came here for trivia on Fat Tuesday and it was a blast! The hosts make it really fun and not too intense and all about winning like some trivia hosts do.
The food was fantastic. The cheese and dried fruits plate was great to share.
Best of all, this is run by a really nice couple, so it feels nice to patronize a small business. We will definitely be back!
I call it the little wine bar that could and DID! Â Terrie and Brian make AWU more than just a wine shop. Â They warmly welcome local talent and give us locals a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a glass of wine and great entertainment. Â If you haven't stopped in yet - make an effort to do so. Â You won't regret it.
Review Source:A perfect place to unwind, chat, meet people and listen to music on Saturdays. Â The wine selection and prices rival the big-name places but you get personal service from a knowledgeable friend and not just an employee. They have never steered me wrong on a great wine suggestion to sip in-store or to bring to an important dinner.
Not too loud, not too big, feels cozy and 'just right.' Â
