went in there as my car was getting fixed at Tuffy's. Simple place. No pretensions. the  lunch portions were pretty decent. Had a pepperoni but to my luck the spinach pizza was better. the service was nice and the staff friendly. They had internet too helping me finish off some work that needed attention.
Review Source:I consider myself to be a true pizza snob. I have my favorites and am not often impressed with a new (to me) pizza joint. With that said, Amato's has quickly become a regular spot for my family. The pizza is truly, very good. Two things that set this place apart for me are the dine-in area and the great service.
With two small kids, I don't always want to commit to a "formal" meal out with a server, so their self-service dine-in area is perfect. It is nicely decorated, clean and always stocked. There are two TVs, one on each end of the dining area, and  every time we come in, the manager turns Nickelodeon on for my kids. This small gesture makes a world of difference for two hungry parents just trying to get through a meal while it's hot!
We love this place and will keep coming back!
we got the stuffed pizza compareable to a deep dish,, the pizza was ok.. nothing special.. and WAYYYY pricey  24 for a medium..  the dough i would of liked crisper..  the toppings were very generous,, but that doesnt make a pizza taste better..  Im still looking for that authentic italian restraunt that serve pizza like they should,, i think ill try the chicken wings next time....
Review Source:We were in Aurora visiting and wanted carryout pizza. Â Since Amato's is close to where we were staying we called in for our standard Italian sausage, green olive and mushroom. Â We love the tartness of green olives on pizza so it is a plus for us that Amato's offers them. Â Our large pizza was not cheap compared with all the chains advertising lately, over $20, but it was better.
The thin crust was fine but seemed a bit like machine made. Â Beyond that the pizza was very good. Â The sauce was not sweet or applied in excess. Â The sausage had good fennel flavor. Â All of the toppings were plentiful and best of all the cheese was thick, rubbery and chewy.
This is certainly much better than you will get at places like Domino's or Papa John's. Â It is not extraordinary, but is above average and very acceptable. Â We gave it 3-1/2 stars.
One of the benefits of living in the Chicagoland area is the large amount of pizza joints to choose from. Although I would like to see myself as a pizza connoisseur, I know I'm just another shmuck that eats a lot of pizza from multiple places.
Years ago when I was living in Carol Stream, I was able to enjoy Amato's from their Glendale Heights location. Since I moved out to Aurora in 2003, I haven't seen nor touched their food. A couple Friday's ago while getting ready to order from our standard place, for some reason Amato's flashed in my head. Since I haven't enjoyed their food in over 7 years, we figured we'd give it a shot.
Since then and every time we've ordered from this location, delivery has been like lighting. I think the longest we have waited was 35 minutes. As for the food, better than I remember. Actually, this is in my top three of best thin crust pizzas I have ever had. Another plus about this location is they don't skimp on the ingredients. The first time I ordered with extra cheese and there was just too much. The next time I ordered normally and it was perfect. The only other item I've tried on the menu was the wings. They are good and large, but their sauces are pretty average.
Either way; great pizza, fast delivery and competitive pricing.
Highly recommended!
I think this place is good if you are ordering a standard pizza (I.e., Sausage or Pizza). We went out on a limb and ordered their Buffalo Chicken Pizza. The first problem was the price - $20 for a medium! And then the pizza was not good. Very bland and disappointing considering the price. One positive, delivery was right on time.
Review Source:I ordered a vegetarian deep dish pizza from Amato's last week.
The crust was pretty plain, but the sauce was good. I liked the olives, onions, and green peppers that went into it, but I have to admit the broccoli added a different twist. Since broccoli is so flavorful, it didn't mix well with the olives, which on their own are pretty empowering.
If you order the vegetarian pizza next time, I'd recommend no broccoli. O
When I'm out in Aurora again and REALLY wanted to a deep dish, I'd probably order from Amato's if I couldn't find another alternative. Â It wouldn't be my first pick though.
This is pretty standard pizza, but they get an extra star for having...drum roll...green olives. I've not seen green olives at a regular old pizza joint since I was about 10. Let the sausage and green olive extra-larges be plentiful.
Everything I've had has been tasty, and prices are reasonable, if not a tad higher than your normal chain. But it's a good change from the big chains.
