I have been to Arooga's probably a few dozen times with friends and the experience is always consistently average.
On the positive side, you can choose from a lot of wing flavors. My favorites are the buffalo blue or kinda-hot medium. I like getting the wing special with the tater tots, celery, and blue cheese because its not that expensive. The menu is vast and intimidating, which is why I stick with the appetizers and wings I enjoy. The sometimes have interesting beers on tap or trivia nights going on, which is a plus.
The service is hit and miss. Unfortunately, there is more "miss" than "hit" here. While the servers are always friendly and a manager tends to walk around and ask how we are doing, they tend to disappear for extended periods of time into the back. We have had food brought out cold that we have had to send back, appetizers and entrees brought out simultaneously, and empty glasses for way too long. They are always hiring new, inexperienced servers. However, the more experienced waitresses are friendly and generally pretty good.
Don't even get me started with their points program. You could drop about 1 grand at this restaurant and will be rewarded with a $5 coupon or something similar. They need to seriously overhaul their loyalty program if they want to actually reward their loyal customers!
If you want a chill place to meet a bunch of friends and watch a game or eat relatively late, this is a good spot. Just keep your expectations relatively low!
Against my better judgement, I agreed to come to Aroogas after swearing on my life I'd never ever set foot in one on any of my trips home to Harrisburg.
It's a sports bar. So gentlemen, expect a bunch of  20-somethings in too-tight, a little too low cut referee shirts serving up your food.  Service was attentive and food came out quickly.
Speaking of food... since it's a sports bar, you can imagine what you might find on the menu here. Â The most unhealthy selection of cheese-smothered, fried food imaginable. I think there was one relatively healthy thing on this menu that I could find (a veggie plate with a side of uninspired ranch dressing) but no one goes to a sports bar to count calories, do they? I'd imagine a trip to the cardiologist isn't out of the question if you eat here even semi-regularly - this is calorie overload.
Drinks: I feel like the best thing this place has going for it are the drink specials. Cheap! Why don't they have deals like this in NJ/NYC? A decent selection of craft brews along with the usual bar suspects so if you want to indulge in some decent beers, you can do that here.
Otherwise -- I don't know what I can say that hasn't been said before. Will I be returning? Doubtful, as this isn't really my scene but it was fine to try it out once just to see what it's like, since they seem to be everywhere in the Harrisburg area.
It's a great neighborhood bar. Have been to two of their locations and this is my favorite since its proximity to my home.
Decent beer and liquor selections, Vizios  all around and the BEST wings, hands down. I have tried only few other items on the menu and was not impressed at all. It's as if they they have 100% to wings and like 39% to other dishes. Be your own judge. I wouldn't mind hanging out here any time.
