Awesome place. Â So happy we have this in Harrisburg, its very unique around here. Â The Hookah is great, and really good selection, but that has already been said. Â The food is GREAT! Â Best indian in town IMHO. Â The chiken tikka is ridiculously tender and good. Â Have had 5 different meals, all were very, very good. Â
The Samosa appetizer with the yogurt, chutney, etc on it is SO worth getting. Â Everyone has samosas, but this is particularly awesome and the whole menu is decently priced.
Highly recommend if you like Indian/Hookah!
I really liked this place when it was the Sphinx and was sad to see that place go. When I saw that they had changed it into a hookah lounge, I just had to check it out. I hadn't smoked hookah in a few years, so I was excited to try it again.
We came in on a Wednesday at around 6:30 PM and we were the only customers there for our entire stay. The owner was there and greeted us immediately. He was extremely nice, informative, and attentive which was helpful because I'm certainly no hookah expert. He took the time to chit chat with us and stopped over at the table several times to ensure that we were doing alright.
The inside is still decorated exactly like the Sphinx with restaurant-style booths and Egyptian-style wall murals. I would love to see the place take a more "lounge" feel as it becomes more popular. Even so, it was a comfortable and laid-back atmosphere, with an interesting variety of background music (everything from top 40's to house music to some exotic tunes).
There was a very good selection of flavors, but we narrowed it down to the Exotic Passion Fruit which was delicious. Much to our surprise, this flavor was served in a pineapple bowl. Apparently any of the "exotic" flavors are accompanied by some type of fruit bowl.
There is also a food menu and I was happy to see a few Egyptian dishes on it. We did not order any food this trip; however, the prices were quite reasonable for everything from sandwiches to fried appetizers. The drink menu was also quite diverse with everything from milkshakes to smoothies, lemonades, teas, and juices.
Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be back again soon!
It's a ritual I know well. The setup, the shisha packing, the methodical checking to make sure there are no leaks and all your work is almost complete. Â Lighting the coal, heating the bowl. Then you get to watch an almost hypnotic visual of the bubbles as you inhale and listen to the sound of the nargile gurgling as you draw. Then for a brief moment in time, you are a dragon as you exhale cool plumes of white flavored smoke.
I am no stranger to Hookah smoking. As you might have already inferred from the first paragraph, Â I own a few myself and have spent many a night enjoying a good book while I indulge. Â Or as the case may be now, enjoying a session while reviewing where it came from. Â
The Hookah lounge, provides drinks, food, and of course their namesake, water-pipes. The menu (which I have provided in picture form) is simple, and effective. Pricing looks reasonable and in check with other lounges I have been into. Â Also, they have Wifi which is how this review is getting posted at this moment instead of later.
The service is also good, The servers take time to explain what hookah smoking consists of and aren't pushy when it comes to getting your order quickly which tells me they actually want you to have a good experience when you come here.
Inside  is spacious, air conditioned, and smells like, you guessed it, hookah smoke. There are multiple fans and air cleaning units to help keep the air moving.  Seating is your typical restaurant style tables and chairs with 2 cushioned spots in the back for larger parties. (6 or more from what I hear, however I am sitting in the back one at the moment and they are letting that happen... most likely because when I got here it wasn't busy.)
As far as the actual smoking experience goes, so far, so good. On top of offering a wide variety of flavors they also have different options for the bowls. Giving a choice of fresh Pineapple, apple, and possibly more but thats all I see at the moment.
Ok, I think I am going to wrap up this review for now. If you are in the area and want to give hookah a try, swing on in here.
