Friendly service, decent portions, and food was pretty good. Â I had a groupon deal that I bough and I think it was a great deal for 32 dollars for 2 people. Â Some of the menu items online are not available though. Â Overall good atmosphere and will probably come back. Â We all ordered meat dishes, I know that is what Argentinians are known for so that people that ordered fish dishes should try the meat.
Review Source:I seem to be the only person who didn't use a groupon. Â I believe they have a separate groupon menu. Â We were trying to go to Flanigans, but it was too crowded. Â We ended up trying this instead. Â We shared the mixed grill meat dish for 2. Â It could have fed 4. Â It's traditional argentinian, so it included sweetbreads and other stuff we don't usually eat. Â Service was a bit overwhelmed and english-challenged, but all in all it was a nice find.
Review Source:I purchased a Groupon for this restaurant because it is in my neighborhood. Â Once I read some of the views, I wasn't very excited about dining here. Â Well, I have to say, it was wonderful! Â There were only a couple tables occupied and it was a Monday night. Â Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating. Â The food was incredible! Â My husband had Gnocchi and I had the skirt steak. Â The skirt steak was enough for three meals! Â The house Cabernet was very good. Â They bake the bread fresh, so it is hot when they bring it to the table. Â Many people complained about the 18% gratuity, however many restaurants in the area are doing the same. Â Servers depend on tips. Â We will definitely be back!
Review Source:Other than the provolone, the food was terrible. Â The sea bass was tiny and not very good texture-wise or flavor-wise. Â The filet which was supposed to "melt in your mouth" did anything but that. Â It was tough.
The service was slow and we were the only ones aside from one other group at the restaurant. Â We waited for our check forever, until I decided to go pay and was greeted with, "would you like your check?" Â I had mentioned to our server that I had wanted the check the last time she came around, one of the few times.
What a joke. I made a reservation. We showed up and they said they never the reservation. They practically ignored us and we had to ask for each course. Food was mediocre at best and I regretted having to leave an 18% tip. I cannot say bad enough about our experience. Totally disorganized staff.
Review Source:Excellente! Skirt steak Very tasty and generous called Vacio on menu cooked to perfection medium rare and juicy available in 8 12 or 16 oz.. I got the large and it was a nice portion. House salad not bad. Mixed vegetables fresh and crisply steamed. Â Gnocchi was enjoyed by my wife in pink vodka sauce. Argentinian flan with caramel for dessert is home made and delicious.
Review Source:We had a Groupon which is why we came here, but will definitely be back!
Groupon deal was for four people - 2 appetizers, 4 entrees and 4 glasses of house wine.
The appetizers were great! We had the melted provolone and grilled veggies. The grilled veggie plate could have been a meal in itself, and the veggies were grilled to the right degree of done-ness (plate included tomato, onion, portobello mushroom, red pepper and zucchini). The rolls brought to the table were warm and went well with the cheeese.
I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I enjoyed the house malbec.
We had the mixed grill for 1 (half of which was taken home), the skirt steak, the shrimp in a tomato-y sauce and the snapper. The snapper was cooked perfectly and came in a garlic butter sauce. Everyone enjoyed their meal. All entrees come with a salad (house, made with a nice mesclun spring mix, or caesar) and a side (maduros, fries, yuca, morros, baked potato, etc).
Basically, TONS of very good food for the money. The waitress was very friendly and did a great job. The only downside was that it seemed like she was the only one working. When we arrived, we were the only ones in the restaurant, but there were 3 other tables by the time we left and it took a LONG time to get the check.
But, all in all, a great experience, and I will definitely return without the Groupon!
A little too far south to be on my regular rotation but I had a $40 coupon I paid $16from South Florida dines so off I went. Â I had the seafood stew. Â Everything very tasty and fresh except I didn't eat the green muscles( Hate them) other then the fact they come frozen and are ez to use they do not compare with black farm raised or PEI muscles and for a $30 entree they should not be there. Â The skirt steak while absolutely fabulous...Maybe even better then Argentango's was ordered medium and came rare....not complaining just a fact!
Don't know if the 18% gratuity (before discount) was automatically added because of my discount or if it's their regular practice. Â Service could have been a little more attentive. Â It was slow because of the Jewish Holiday and still had to ask to get water refilled.
Restaurant was bright and tables nicely spaced.  One waitress doing everything.  There seemed to be a helper but he brought out plates, did not remove plates for other tables and left the clean up to the waitress.  Seemed to be a problem in kitchen because there was a 10 minute wait for the first course and lack of coordination.  One person in party tried the pumpkin soup and was not having the Spice menu.  The others in the party having the Spice menu.  Everyone ordering the Spice Menu  had the Chirrasco steak with the empanadas as the appetizer.  Meal came with appetizer, salad, side and dessert.  It would seem that better coordination would have been to bring out the salads with the pumpkin soup.  Instead, first the empanadas were served with the soup but the empanadas were very fresh and fried to order.  Crispy and tasty but why not serve the salad first.  Pumpkin soup was mild, tasty but too thin.  Could not taste the pumpkin.  All natural linguini was cooked fresh with a good portion of diced tomatoes and basil.  However, the chef forgot to add the feta cheese and waitress had to go back to get the cheese.  Unfortunately, the cheese was taken straight from the refrigerator and was cold and by the time it arrive, the linguini had cooled. The one steak ordered medium well came out medium rare but all the steaks ordered medium rare came out medium rare. Steamed vegetables were plentiful.  There were sugar beans, broccoli and yellow squash and cooked properly, not undercooked or over steamed.  The flan for dessert was set in a dressed plate with florets of caramel on the plate's corner.  The flan was a room temperature, moist and a nice finish to the meal.  Slow service was a drag, kitchen mistakes were as if the cook did not know the menu and better coordination for food delivery when not all are ordering from the special menus needs to be addressed to make this more than just another Argentinian steak house
Review Source:We wandered up and down Harding Ave trying to choose which restaurant where we should eat. The menu at Asa 2 looked nice, and the tables on the street looked inviting. I'm so glad we chose here!
I couldn't resist the homemade empanadas and ordered the spinach and the ham and cheese. The ham and cheese was really good, but the spinach was probably the best empanada I've ever had. I also ordered the grilled octopus, which was perfectly prepared to be tender and amazing and came with a very tasty olive oil-based dipping sauce. My fiance ordered the mixed grill special, which he enjoyed as well. And no lunch (or was it dinner or linner? Who knows-we were on vacation!) would be complete in Miami Beach without fried sweet plantains, which were also perfectly prepared and not greasy or oily at all!
This food snob recommends Asa 2, especially over the TGI Fridays-like places nearby.
