My husband and I almost gave up on takeout Chinese food because we don't feel good after eating it and have had reliably mediocre experiences. We found Asian Rice to be a diamond in the rough. Their dishes are cooked just enough to give you crisp vegetables and very tender meat (it's halal too). Always fresh, no MSG added, and their food is steamed first before adding a little oil. Not greasy or salty. Large portions and not costly. They can also cook with olive or coconut oil for allergen-sensitive folk. Very friendly! Our sometimes timid toddler daughter was confidently telling the lady at the front about the foods she was enjoying! My husband said he left with a good aftertaste in his mouth. They are great! : )
Review Source:Asian Rice was a decent, average hole in the wall Chinese restaurant in Springfield. Â The food is all halal and the service is decent. Â We went for a late lunch and thought it was pretty good. I wouldn't really go out of the way to visit this place as it doesn't have a great seating area and I wasn't amazed. However, if i lived in the area i could see myself ordering take-out.
Review Source:Great food... yes. Customer Service NO. Â I just got off the phone with a woman named Mandy who claimed to be the "manager" when i asked to speak to the manager. Â I have ordered from here for over a year and have never had issues.. except once when they repeatedly went to the wrong house and never called and got my food 2.5 hours later. Â But tonight, my order is wrong and I called back and after explaining the situation, "Mandy the Manager" became argumentative and after she was through with her ti raid hung up on me. Horrible customer service! Â They have lost a dedicated customer.

I've only ordered delivery from here, and they are always polite on the phone and super quick to deliver our food. They quote us at 30 minutes, but they literally arrive at our door within 15 minutes. What I love the most about this place is that they don't use MSG, use low sodium soy sauce and soybean oil, and fresh veggies! Even their website explains that they are "committed to your health, in a tasty way."
My favorites here are: Seafood delight, combination lo mein, kung pao chicken, and their crab rangoon.
Gag never again. I really wanted authentic Thai food, but I should have known that it wasn't going to be good when 5 minutes after I called they had already had it packed up and ready to go (called on the way home from work). The pad thai was sticky, mushy and clumped together. It smelled disgusting. Will never go here again....
Review Source:Definitely not your average chinese restaurant. We ordered take out for lunch for the first time. I was a bit scared the food wouldn't be good b/c they promote a healthy menu but it was awesome. We got Kung Pao and General Tso chicken and they were both great. Even the egg roll was yummy. Great food and priced the same as crappy chinese restaurants. I don't eat a ton of chinese food but I will definitely be trying this place again.
Review Source:The other reviews r overhyping it a bit....it's a good place, I tried the crispy shredded beef. My dad did not like it as much as me, and we both think Mandarin restaurant in Springfield is better but Asian rice is cheaper and therefore a better value because the food was still very fresh. Next time I'm going to get something spicy because the beef was tame. Good place for takeout!

I have ordered many times before & never disappointed. My best choice items are Kung Pao & Sechuan beef. Vegetable mixed rice goes well with them.
A small place in a strip mall behind I-95 & Old Keene Mill Road in Springfield. Not your normal sit down chinese dinner place as front area is small with few tables.
I keep going back to it to pickup or ask for delivery. Moderately priced & under $10 so far.

Asian Rice is absolutely the best, freshest, tastiest Chinese food in the Springfield/Lorton area. Â Absolutely every dish my husband, a few of our guests, and I have ordered has been excellent. Â The meats are fresh, never gristly, perfectly cooked, and tender. Â The vegetables are fresh, crunchy and never mushy. Â Sauces are flavorful, dishes are bright and colorful, and very generously portioned.
Also, service is very fast with a very short wait time from order to delivery. Â We love this place!
Absolutely top place in the area for chinese delivery. Â VERY fresh veges and great flavors. Â I love it. Â We have tried most places in the area that deliver to Kingstowne and we are completely satisfied with this spot. Â
Never dined in - do they have? Â They actually bill themselves as a healthy option for chinese food lovers and they keep that promise. Â Kung Pao Chicken is tops!
Asian Rice really is fantastic. I've passed by this restaurant countless times, but I thought that I'd finally give them a try. My family and I were pleasantly surprised :)
There are a few tables in the restaurant, by my family and I were the only patrons there for about an hour on Saturday afternoon (around 3 pm). Â There were about five different people who came in to pick up their carryout orders. Each of them seemed like they were satisfied returning customers.
My family and I made it in at 2:45 pm, 15 minutes before the lunch special would end and were able to take advantage of this (runs until 3:00 pm).
I ordered five entrees to share and my sister had the beef Asian rice bowl. The entrees ran about $6.25 each and the rice bowl may have been over $7. The entrees were amazing and beautifully prepared. The rice bowl was good as well, but I don't think it should have been that expensive.
The lunch special entree is served with white rice (additional .50 for brown rice substitution) and the crispiest spring roll you will EVER eat!
The entrees included Beef with Mixed Vegetables, Hunan Shrimp, Sesame Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, and Chicken Lo mien.
My dad loved the Hunan Shrimp, and for good reason, too! The shrimp were pretty big, juicy, and cleaned really nicely. Spicy too!
I wasn't too impressed with the sesame chicken, but it was still good. I just didn't like it as much as the other entrees.
The Lo mien was soft and really yummy. Perfect! Not greasy at all!
Beef with Mixed Vegetables was really good as well. I will need to order this again. The beef cuts were thick (but not too thick) and thin (but not too thin). My mom really enjoyed this dish. Their mixed vegetables offered a great variety and fresh products! I loved the Zucchini!
I thought the General Tso's chicken is the best I've ever had. It was really saucy, the chicken was tender, but also crispy. Will re-order this as well.
Parking is available in front of the restaurant, but getting out can be really tricky since left turns are difficult (but not impossible) because of oncoming traffic and a right turn would take you to ramps to get on to 95, 395, and 495.
As you may have guess by looking at the length of this review, I really enjoyed myself at Asian Rice. The friendliest service, versatile menu, and fresh products. My parents love that its Halal high-quality food and love the fresh veggies!
This place is MSG-free, is halal, and the ingredients are fresh (you can taste it!). I think this restaurant is fantastic. So far have tried the General Tso's chicken, crispy beef, vegetable lo-mein, shrimp fried rice, and received a Basil Fried Rice free. Everything was delicious.
The customer service was good, and everyone working there is very friendly. Best for take-out or delivery as they don't have much seating in the front of the store. There are only about 4 tables.
I will definitely go back!
I ordered carryout from here about a week ago. Â I had the Pad Thai and the Panang Curry. Â Both portions were hearty. Â The Pad Thai was delicious. Â It had just the right amount of sauce and flavor. Â I liked that I could actually see the eggs, carrots, bean sprouts, and scallion. Â Some carryout places leave you guessing. Â As for the Panang Curry, it was good but I felt the sauce could have been thicker. Â I'm also not a fan of string beans in curry. Â I would order from them again but definitely ask for no string beans.
