This restaurant is a true hidden gem and well worth my weekly drive from Pasadena. Â The atmosphere is such that I feel like I am on vacation when I sit down in the restaurant. Â It is a light, airy feeling, with relaxing but upbeat background music playing at just the right volume. Â Staff is efficient and always available.. and the best part is the food. Â OMG... you have got to try those pancakes! Â If you are not feeling breakfasty, try anything with their homemade bread... pizza, sandwiches... anything. Â They make their own bread and it tastes so delicious! Â I have been to ATX probably about 9 times and have ordered something different every time (actually I ordered the pancakes twice!) Â and every time I have truthfully enjoyed the meal and my guests have enjoyed theirs as well. Â This is one of those few restaurants that you can order anything on the menu and know it will taste delicious. Â I commend the owners of this restaurant and hope they will soon open a second location in Pasadena, so my drive will be easier.
Review Source:Wow, first of all who would of thought there is a restaurant buried amongst these homes. Â This is a great place and the food is unbelievable! I started out with the Kale salad. Â I am not much of a salad eater but I ate every last bit on my plate wishing for more. Â My partner enjoyed her watermelon salad. Â The service was awesome and servers were patient. Â They asked if we were ready for the next course instead of just putting it in front of us and watching it cool while we finished our salads. Â I had the Beef Cheeks and while I admired the dish I put my fork into the meat. Â I swear you could cut it with your fork. Â Who needs a knife. Â This beef was so tender and the beans or pasta it was laid on was so delicious. Â I usually don't eat all the decoration etc but with this dish I literally licked the plate clean. Â My partner had the Scottish Salmon with squid and I kept poking my fork onto her plate stealing bites of the salmon. Â I drove a long way here from the San Gabriel Valley but I know where to come to enjoy a fantastic meal that is different ( you won't find this anywhere) but most important to enjoy the atmosphere. Â It is very spacious so other people aren't eating next to you and the service from everyone is so attentive. Â Michael the manager or owner stopped by our table to see what else his staff could do. Â Listening to the music while eating and talking was easy because it isn't like a loud club scene but the music did not lull me to sleep. Â You need to come by and try this place. Â I will be back for sure...
Review Source:Tonight was my first visit to ATX and the staff could NOT have been more open and amazing. 1st- I was there to see FLAVIA & THE RED who great. If you have not had an opportunity to see them, I highly recommend it. 2nd- Mary Kay and Mike went out of their way to provide us with the ultimate 'family' experience. "Family Experience" is actually under rating them. It would seem disingenuous. The staff made us feel as part of their beautiful family and Greek heritage. 3rd- Sangria. Mary Kay's son Mike served this delectable cocktail that I am still salivating over. I don't really like Sangria because the wines used are not great and they are too sweet. THIS Sangria used a very embodied bouquet with fresh fruit, a touch of Angostura Bitters and Orange Blossom syrup. It was the PERFECT blend for the PERFECT Sangria. I am coming back for this for sure! 4th- Chicken Skewers with a Cilantro Pesto and Coriander seasoning. The chicken was so tender and freshly cooked, it just melted. Flavorful, spices tantalizing your palette. It also happened to be one of Mary Kay's favorite dishes. This followed a freshly crafted, Organic Kale Salad with heirloom tomatoes, mini green beans, carrots and tofu all carefully tossed lightly in a Sesame Oil dressing. The kale was delicious. It is not the store bought kale that you find in some restaurants, this was fresh kale from organic farms. It was lighter and less rigid. It was the perfect compliment to the Sesame dressing. ATX iis doing their Summer Music series for the next few weeks. It is a wonderful, family environment that has the best Summer ambiance anywhere. it's transporting enough for the mind and soul even though the physical is in Los Angeles. Â Thank You Mary Kay, Mike and all of the staff for making this night a really wonderful Summer Night!

I am so glad that I found out about this place! I went to see a band play last night (Flavia and the Red, check them out), and couldn't believe the space when I walked in. Open, inviting, spread out, intimate - all at the same time.
I met the owner Mary Kay and her son Mike, and they really do treat you like family. The wait staff were all busy doing their jobs, but none of it was rushed. All happy to answer questions and make sure you are taken care of.
My friend and I were not that hungry, so Mary Kay suggested the Russian Kale salad and some chicken skewers. The kale salad is unlike anything I have every had before. You can taste how fresh the kale is, and before you think that rough, bitter kale, no. This kale is delicious and subtle. Mixed in are cherry tomatoes, carrots, peanuts, edamame and tofu, all tossed in a very light sesame dressing. The chicken was so tender and perfectly grilled, you didn't want it to end! It's served with a pesto sauce that has a cilantro and jalepeno kick. So delicious!
I had read about their sangria, and thought it sounded very unique. It is. And it's so smooth and delicious, you could drink it all night. I tried the sangria rojo, and what makes it unique is the angostura bitters, which you catch on the end (count to 5 after you take a sip) and the orange blossom syrup. Most people use cheap wine to make sangria because they think the sugar and the added fruit will take over. Here, they treat their sangria with respect. Good ingredients and very good wine. You can tell because of how smooth it is, and it won't give you a headache. Take a look at their wine list. These folks are definitely wine lovers.
I will definitely be back! There were so many things on the menu I need to try. Put this place on your list, and go visit Mary Kay, Mike and their beautiful space. You will not be disappointed. I have food restrictions, and was told they can accommodate gluten free. Looking forward to trying more off the menu.
Beautiful space and experience! You're excited to be there from the moment you enter what's a really beautiful, tastefully decorated open space. Â The food was delicious and the service could not have been better. The salmon is delicious and the appetizers were all terrific. It's also a great space to throw an event, or attend one. A real gem in a very cool neighborhood!
Review Source:This place has gotten progressively worse. Â Don't get me wrong, the space is nice and open and you can see the AmTrak pass by just outside which is kinda charming, but.... the constant change of food... NO ME GUSTA.
When this place first opened as Atwater Crossing kitchen, they had some tasty noms. Â The flatbreads were amazing, especially the zataar with feta sprinkled on, as well as the lamb flat bread. Â With all the fusion food taking over, my favorite flatbreads are no longer on the menu which totally blows cause they were the only reason I was coming there. Â Man, they were delicious with some High Life. Â Which leads me to my next complaint, which is what's with all the fancy beer snob beers? Â If i wanted that, i could go to like one of those breweries popping up all over LA. Â what the hay.
Another thing.....that mural. Â Jesus Christ, it is depressing looking. Â I came to eat, not lose my appetite. Â I would suggest warm tones, you know, golds, reds... but not steely grey which is rather moody and depressing. Â I would also recommend maybe some roses around it so it looks like more of a positive tribute to that person instead.
Basically, the new food blows and so does the painting. Â Won't be coming back.
Great atmosphere, awesome service and delicious food. Â The employees were very helpful with the menu, they know their wine and how to provide the best service to their customer. Â I have referred all my friends and family to this place and they all have been happy and 100% satisfied.
Review Source:Been here quite a few times, but held off on writing this review to give the new managers a fair chance to get into their groove. It's been a couple months now, so I feel I can write a fair one.
ATX by K12K is kinda ambitious. The management & staff are pretty young, but quite dedicated, which shows.
ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere is friendly; they have a 'Welcome Home!' sign at the front, & you really get a sense that they strive to make you feel welcome and relaxed. They have new art displayed every week, which adds to the "artsy" feel. The design and murals fit together well, too.
The fact that it's outdoors and under the stars makes for a wonderful nighttime dining experience- I agree with reviewers who say it's a good spot for a date night, or even a casual dinner meeting. The trains passing by add a touch of excitement too, as the staff cheers!
SERVICE: Every server I've had has been warm and sincere without being cloying. Â Even on busy nights where it's taken a bit longer than normal to get our order, the staff have been attentive and apologetic while staying light-hearted. It's obvious they're still ironing out the kinks, but I've really come to enjoy the staff members I see regularly. So friendly!
MUSIC: I'm actually quite impressed with how diverse the performances have been (that I've seen). They really work to get live acts almost every night they're open. The stage is small but the sound is good, and again the outdoors aspect adds to the overall feel. A couple nights they've even gotten quite a crowd dancing!
FOOD: I ADORE the flatbread! Don't offer to share until you've tried your order, haha. And the fries are delicious; be sure to ask for extra sauces- they have quite an array. The salads have never disappointed (kale for the win), and the pita sandwich, hamburgers, and grilled cheese were all yummy. I've not tried some of the more adventurous dinner items, but the BREAKFAST! The pancakes must be made with mana from heaven, my god. Definitely check out the brunch if you can.
I was thrown a bit when I discovered they change up their menu with the seasons, but I realize they want to use organic, fresh ingredients as they become available. From what I saw of the summer offerings, I want to try the watermelon salad and catfish nuggets. I like that they obviously attempt new things and are bold with the items they choose.
You won't like everything, but you'll find something you love for sure!!
DRINKS: Order the SANGRIA. Red or white, it is delicioso. The beer menu is pretty impressive, and the servers are usually quite adept at suggesting good pairings for your food. I don't drink much wine, but the friends I've taken here had high praise for the selections.
OVERALL: I've really grown to like this place. It has/had some growing pains to be sure, like any place, but if they stay on track, I truly believe this will become an LA Hot Spot. The atmosphere is just so chill and friendly, I can't imagine having a bad time. I've brought one friend and been a part of a large (and rowdy) group, and both experiences were positive.
DEFINITELY GIVE IT A TRY!
This place was great! The atmosphere is awesome with cool decor and tasteful decorations. I love the fact that they have a stage where they showcase really great talent.
For food I had the quinoa salad, which was quite delicious along side a glass of white wine on a warm summer evening.
I will definitely be back!
love the space and vibe, as well as live music on fridays. i can tell it aims to be and somewhat achieves its goal of being a community space. prices aren't exactly community-friendly but i still like the ambiance a lot.
food was mixed. we loved the savoy spinach burrata salad w/the sweetest berries. but the hamachi was too thick, peaches in the peach brulee was unripe and the spinach, artichoke and goat cheese flatbread was dry.
sangria was refreshing. would definitely return. full review w/pix of the food and space on my site.
We went to this amazing destination Restaurant tonight and we all agreed it blew our socks off!  The ambiance was amazing , the service  was perfect. There were six of us and we ate 8-9 dishes and shared them so we could all taste the amazing variety served here. The exquisite flavors were enhanced by well selected ingredients and you could tell that a lot of love and attention was given to the details of the menu.
Our waiter(s) told us about the top of the line vendors used to make sure that all the produce is a very high quality. I have never had baby Kale and the salad I had is beyong description. We had salmon, flatbread with an amazing pepper sauce of 7 peppers and cous cous that tasted like a combination of rice and noodles and sauces that go beyond description. My husband Herb and I have travelled extensively in Europe and Asia and we were both very pleased and sated. I plan to have a party for some special clients and can't wait to go back .
Just found out about ATX by Kitchen 12000 and I am one happy girl!!! I work close by so this will definitely be my lunch spot of choice. A few of my co-workers and I stopped by to try it out and the place is decortaed very stylish, love the chandeliar and indoor/outdoor feel. It's still new but I see the potential for its customers with it's trendy vibe in Silver Lake. Everything on the menu looked delicious; it was hard to choose but we ordered the Moroccan chicken salad sandwich, the margarita pizza and caprese salad....everyting was exceptional and prepared just right! I'm glad I discovered this place becuase they have different bands in the evening  also serve breakfast (which sounded amazing on the menu) I will be back for breakfast, lunch and dinner :)
Review Source:WOW. just WOW.
pros
one of the most peacefull, beautiful atmospheres of any restaurant in LA.
food outstanding with many original veggie options (they even made the eggs benidict veggie for me)
nicest, funnest, best server.. ever.
cons
coffee served room temp every time (must be the machine)
food came slow, they did have a rush and the poor guy was the only server but i think it was the kitchen that got slammed.
well worth it ! cant wait to go back
What a gem. I can honestly say I would spend an entire day just doing nothing and be absolutely happy. Theres a type of positive flow that runs through this place. The mussels are a must along with the pizza. Staff is very friendly and engaging. Bring a book, have a glass of wine and just unwind.
Review Source:The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because I think this place should staff better. There was only one person working the floor with like 5 tables and he was running all over the place and couldn't get to our table until like 10-15 minutes after we got there.
Anyway love love this place!! I came here with a couple of friends after a nice hike at griffith park. We were so hungry and wanted to order everything! So we had to restrict ourselves... We ended up getting the southwest flat bread, fungi 2.0 flatbread, buttermilk griddle cakes, egss basturmadict, and village scramble. Everything was so good! The southwest flat bread had a nice spiciness to it, the fungi 2.0 flatbread (my favorite dish here!) was soooo earthy from the mushrooms, a little spicy and springtimey from the arugula, and a perfect hint of luxury from the truffle oil. It was SO SOOO GOOD! The buttermilk griddle cakes were really really good! It had a perfect crunch to them because I think they use a rustic style flour so the grains are not perfectly grinded. Then to top it off with the blueberry compote and maple syrup... YUMMMMY it just melts in your mouth!
I'm not a huge fan of yolk, actually I really dont like yolk so I didn't really touch the eggs basturmadict. But bascially its an eggs benedict. The basturmadict was really good though. It was like a cured beef jerkey and the flavor was really outstanding. Finally the village scramble.. the eggs were whatever but the ATX style potatoes were soooo goood! it was thinly sliced potatoes that were fried and it had the perfect crunch on the outside with still the nice potatoey texture on the inside. It was like eating a perfect combination between a potato chip and potato gratin. YUMM
I will definitely come back to this place because the food is sooo good and I really want to try everything! Plus the interior or should I say "exterior" since the entire venue is located outdoors, is AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL!
I have been here many times. the last of which was with my Mom. We had a light lunch and enjoyed the Pizza Napolitana and a golden beet salad. Wine selection was great and I had a lovely Argentinean Garnache from Dos Minas- full bodied, yum!
The ambiance was quiet and the staff were attentive. I look forward dropping by for dinner during the summer- the restaurant has mostly outdoor seating.
ATX by Kitchen12000's prime goal is to bring the community together by sharing their love of delicious food, live music, original art, and life.
This unique location by the train tracks has an open flowing patio and bar. There is a gorgeous lounge with a stage and baby grand that hosts live music and art on the weekends.
Aaaaand, they have an awesome happy hour from 4-8 that offers a pitcher of tap beer and a flatbread for $10!!
Such an amazing hidden gem!!
I'm down with ATX, always have been, always will (fingers crossed). I also love the folks at Kitchen 12000, so the marriage of the two is one that I happily give my blessing to.
The space and menu have been revamped and I adore both. Imagine, if you will, a cafeteria from a hip, indie film about life as an upper middle class high schooler meets sophisticated, industrial Atwater Village. There are a ton of seating options and the mix of open-air seating and covered, allows light to filter in from all directions. The bar separates the two and is completely open, so you feel like you're part of the ATX team.
I've had bfast (Buttermilk Griddle Cakes, aka pancakes, which don't look like much but are hearty and grainy) and lunch (smoky tomato quinoa salad with roasted red peppers, slivered almonds, asparagus, drizzled in a smoked tomato vinaigrette that was just the right amount of girth that reminded me I was eating a meal, not rabbit food). The coffee isn't anything to write home about, but I believe they have plans to change that in the coming months and I heard they're now boasting a happy hour which I will have to get happy with soon and their brunch brings all the ATXers to the yard (so has been speculated).
The space is awesome for a special event or to check out during any of ATX's awesome lineup of events.
Parking isn't really an issue since it's tucked away in a shared residential/industrial part of Atwater, so that's always a plus, and they have free wifi.
Wow, once I physically found this place (a little tricky amid giant buildings on Casitas) I loved it! Â The outdoor-ish space is beautiful, the food was LOVELY, and it's not that spendy. Â I think the three $$$ are unwarranted. Â I had the AM flatbread - a wonderful wood fire breakfast pizza with perfectly cooked eggs - and it was only $11. Way less than Little Dom's - and two people could have easily shared it. Â I will be back for sure.
Review Source:We have been going to the establishment for a while now. However this place has been going to a lot of changes this past year. My group and I came here last Wednesday and expected the old business. But to our surprise the Ambiance has changed drastically from a place with unfinished rooms to a more modern but very inviting venue. We were greeted by the Matriarch Mary Kay and welcomed us warm-heartedly , if there is such a word. She was very excited about this new family business. She is such a Sincere and Charming lady. She spent time with our group spilling her heart out about how this venture was gonna make her mother proud. From the way I see this establishment is run , Im very sure her Mother would be very proud. The Ambience is very welcoming. The food is presented well and goes without saying is Delicious. The Menu has a greek flair to it and the flavor is just right. They have great selection of wine and beer. Perfect for an after work-out Lounge. I would definitely recommend this place just for the warm hospitality that we received. Any place that makes it feel like hanging out at your friends backyard or patio gets a 5 star in my book. We have gone back here a few more times. I think this place has a lot of potential to be a local hotspot!
Review Source:By far one of my favorite spaces to hang out. You just don't find places with character like this one anymore. I love the indoor/outdoor feel and found the trains that come by every now and then totally charming. Everything from the food, the decor, and the people at ATX is thoughtful and unique in the best possible way.
I went with large group of friends and there was plenty of seating and space for us to spread out and enjoy ourselves without feeling like we were cramped or annoying the table next to us. While it was perfect for our large party, I could totally see this being the ideal spot to take and impress a first date.
The food was delicious. Everything on the menu peaked my interest, but I decided to go with one of the flatbreads and was a happy camper. I also sampled just about every single one of my friend's plates and would have been just as happy if I had ordered that as well.
While there wasn't live music when I went, I imagine that it would only add to the charm and ambiance that fills every corner of ATX. The stage is cozy and intimate with comfortable couches and chairs surrounding it, making for the ideal place to unwind and grab a drink or five.
Love love love ATX and will be back often.
Great space. Â Went there for the official opening night. Â I would highly recommend it for meeting up with a date or some friends after work. Â It's lively and well decorated with an open floorplan that features a stage a large bar area, and a huge courtyard dining area that butts up against the railroad tracks. Â Kinda fun. Â Might get annoying the 7th time you hear the train rush past, but it's not dull.
The staff is also very attentive, especially the hostess who was super accommodating to our group offering us the best seat in the house. Â I would go back just to see her.
Menu is pretty standard for New American inspired joints these days, and I trust they will change it regularly to feature seasonal ingredients. Â We got a burger, a couple of salads, the brussel sprouts, and an assortment of charcuterie. Â I would say the food is on par with a good catering company, but doesn't excel in the way a lot of similarly themed restaurants do. Â The execution was just not that good, and there was no single dish that really stood out. Â Maybe they will start to get better as they gain more experience, but I wasn't wowed by anything.
However, the prices are very fair and the wine and beer list is quite good. Â I will likely still come here just because it's a cool place to hang out and see some bands or DJs play.
What a cool place! Â Long communal tables with great use of indooor/outdoor space. Â They're literally RIGHT next to the train tracks and you certainly won't miss it when one of the trains goes roaring by. Â It's actually kind of fun! Â There's a little bit of a 'hipster vibe" that can be fun or perhaps annoying to others. The service is all extremely friendly, though they could use a little training both with details and attentiveness. The food is good and all seems to have a unique twist. Â I wouldn't say it's the best food I've had but they certainly hold their own and coupled with the atmosphere, I'd say this place is a winner (do note, I'm a sucker for places with great decor).
Review Source:I honestly don't even know where to start this review, I am obsessed with this place, I've literally been there three times since they opened a few days ago!
The Decor- is AMAZING! The stage is beautifully set for live acts, the comfortable couches and lounge chairs make me feel like I'm sitting in my own home drinking a glass of wine. There is a beautiful wall sized mural on one end of the seating area, lots of room for big parties, and even smaller intimate tables as well. The bar area is right in the middle, and the view of the kitchen is pretty sweet as well.
The Service- They aren't kidding when they greet you with a "Welcome Home!", this place has THE nicest servers/bartenders/hostesses I've ever seen. Everyone is so welcoming and payed so much attention to our tables. (I've been there all three times with parties over 8, and they treated us exceptionally!) The new management/ownership really shows through in the service, I was always a fan of Kitchen12000's catering services, and to be able to get that same experience daily for meals is great!
The Food- AWESOME! Since I've gone with bigger parties, I've had the opportunity to try a variety of menu items. The appetizers are delish, the Brussels with Bacon and the Roasted Veggies were my personal favorite. The flatbreads are so  light, crisp and tasty (not greasy like normal pizzas!) Our parties favorites were the Yaya and the Funghi! We also tried the Salmon and Herb Chicken, both of those were so delightful. And finally, if you get a change to go for breakfast, do NOT miss the chance of getting the GRITS! I can not say enough about how tantalizing and yummy they are! Lastly, the prices are extremely fair, and the food is very vegan/vegetarian friendly which is always a plus!
I'm very excited to bring my business clients here in the future, it's a great environment, with awesome management and service!
