This place has gone downhill over the past several years while their prices have risen. Â The food just gets more and more bland too. Â The chorizo tacos had no chorizo flavor whatsoever. Â Safe bets are the enchiladas and the burritos. Â This place does a ton of business and there's usually a wait on the weekend. Â Which I don't get with all the lackluster reviews.
Oh yeah, and one of the bartenders is a douchebag too. Â One night my husband and I went sans kids for margaritas. Â After our first, the bartender asked me for another, but ignored my husband....until my husband had to speak up and ask for another drink. Â Then he did it again! Â It was really odd.
This place was a real disappointment. I don't know why, but I seemed to have heard good things. Well, specifically, I'd heard good things about the wings here - and those rumors did turn out to be true. My husband and I started our meal by sharing and order of the "original" flavor and WOW, they were great. The wings were gigantic, juicy and flavorful. They were seasoned with a dry rub rather than a wet sauce - this can leave other wings I've had too dry - but not these! If there is one reason to go here, it is those wings. However, the rest of the meal was a real let down after a delicious start. First, let me say that the hostess and servers were unfriendly. Never cracked a smile, and our waiter just sort of mumbled at us. We thought about each getting a drink, but decided to share one jumbo margarita - unimpressive. It was a big, sweet glass of cheap margarita mix with some barely there tequila. Blech. Next, I ordered the "Stevie Ray" - an enchilada and a taco. Well, the enchilada had none of the promised "mild green sauce," just a bunch of cheese melted on top that had since cooled into a congealed mass. The skirt steak taco was dry, and just plain boring. Literally a plain flour tortilla with some cut up steak. That's it. The rice/beans on the side were bland, dry and room temp. My husband ordered a burger and said it was no better than anything you could snag at your typical TGIFriday's or Chili's. They do start your meal with some complementary corn chips and two types of salsa, which were tasty...but other than the wings, this place is nothing to write home about.
