This bars done..as a person that works in the bar/service industry I will never return. After tonight I will see to it that none of my friends return. Came in with about 18 people, even mix of guys and girls. Spent at least $500 within the group. Fight broke out the bar backed with the assholes that started. This bar will not get our business and I will spread the word. When someone comes in and spend hours and money at your bar you respect it. Not the scum bag that just walked in with 10 dudes... Good luck
Review Source:A great place to start the night and keep it going!!! Â My girlfriend and I stopped in on a Friday night around 10:30 to get the night started. Â A live band was playing behind the bar and sounded great. Â The atmosphere was lively and fun. Â The bartenders were friendly (and hot). Â Drinks were not expensive and poured correctly. Â The Bartender even did a couple shooters with us. Â Highly recommended!
Review Source:Not personally big on this place, but somehow I get dragged here occasionally. There is a very mixed crowd and usually everyone is getting pretty drunk. That can actually be fun... if you're not being too serious.
If you stop in on Tuesdays, most drinks are just 2 bucks! :)
The bartenders are generally friendly also.
The music and crowd are not really for me... but if you love kereoke, I could see you loving it here.
There is a pizza place called Guy's attached that sells 1$ pizza slices if they are open.
This bar is great to go with a group.
My friends brought me here last night. I didn't really want to go. We started off with a beer next door at the Kenilworth. My friends call it the "K Hole" which I think is one of the funniest and best nicknames for anything. Maybe I was just a little buzzed. I could not stop laughing about it though. We came here after "K Hole" and I was not too impressed. There are a lot of good looking young drunk chicks moving around like jelly fish which is great to look at. The music is not my style because it is not good. I am a veteran of Lakewood bars. I am not proud of it. That is why I don't go to most of the places around here. I had some flashbacks last night and felt like I transcended time and space back to McCarthy's circa 2001. The Avenue Tap House is carrying the torch that Paninis at the Riviera first lit and passed along to McCarthys.
Review Source:The owner may have gotten rid of the Put-In-Bay island theme by updating things a bit inside, but as my grandfather taught me many years ago...No matter how hard you rub you'll never polish a turd.
Sadly, the crowd hasn't changed. Â The pizza that they serve - made by Guy's Pizza - is no better then the $3.99 2-pack of pizzas you buy at any conveninece store. Â No taste, bad sauce, and really sparse amount of toppings. Â I suppose if you're smashed out of your mind it's okay, but what isn't at that point.
If you're in the mood to hang with the dredges of Lakewood, and listen to shitty cover bands....you'll love it!
