Wine Bar Rocky River

Frequent this place ALOT.  Was able to enjoy the outside patio this time around.  Great wine selection and food.

I love this place.

Two stars based off the food - atmosphere, wine selection, service, and patio are very nice.

We visited Rocky River Wine Bar on a Thursday night in late September, and it was too chilly to sit on the beautiful and charming patio. We were seated pretty quickly and the service throughout the night was friendly. Although neither of us are wine snobs, we certainly enjoyed the bottle of Malbec we had.

The food was not as pleasant. We started with a bowl of the chorizo/sweet corn soup and the arrincini. The soup was disappointing - it's portion was closer to a cup than a bowl, and it was flat. Felt like it came out of a can. The arrincini were fine, although probably a bit too heavily crusted as it almost felt tough to chew through the fried exterior.

We then split the tomato/mozzarella salad and the savory three cheese board. Considering that late September still has a good selection of tomatoes, I was not overly impressed with that variety. It was fine. The cheeses on our board were good - especially the Gouda and Tillamook cheddar. Pretty small portions though, and very subpar set of crackers.

Overall, a nice atmosphere, solid wine, and awesome patio - we will be back next summer for drinks on the patio. Won't be eating though.
