I am just not a fan, no matter how much I have tried. I do like the cream and crimson but can only eat one slice--it is super heavy, even for pizza. Avers is way too oily and makes most of my family feel sick afterwards. I go elsewhere for pizza when I pay, but Avers is edible. Good service.

Recommend the cream and crimson! Breadsticks aren't that great, so you can skip those. Get the loganberry drink!

Whether you're in a drunken stupor, hosting a game day party, or what-do-you-want-for-dinner? dilemmas, Aver's has traditional and more gourmet pizza pies to satisfy any carb cravings. One of the two best pizza places B-town has to offer, hands down!

Whenever, I visit, I gotta grab a small 8" specialty pizza for myself (about $1/in of pizza), not bad! My all time favorite has to be the most unhealthiest pizza on the planet, *drum rolls* the CREAM & CRIMSON - smothered with a rich alfredo sauce base topped with thinly sliced, oven-roasted red potatoes, fresh garlic, generous dill, bacon, cheddar, and melty gorgonzola cheese. For the V's, there's plenty of specialty veggie pizzas available (when my healthy conscious kicks in - I'll give them a try also).

I've done the lambda gyro pi and build-your-own custom pizzas. Doesn't really matter what toppings you throw on because I don't think Aver's can deliver a crappy tasting pizza.

Pizza here is decent. The deals are the best reason to go here.

Avers has good service and excellent ingredients. The only thing I don't like is that their crust is a little too sweet. No biggie though because their sauce and cheese is great. I love their Italian sausage! It's some of the best in town! It's also a great deal. Very hearty pizza. We always have leftovers because it is so hearty and robust! Very thick wonderful pizza. Definitely one of the best Bloomington has to offer!

Best pizza in Bloomington, hands down. I recommend the Cream & Crimson, the Veggie Revival, and/or the Popeye vs. Dracula, but I've never had a pizza from Aver's that I didn't love.

The breadsticks are excellent as well.

My choice for delivery (especially late night) or feeding a large group. The specialty pizzas are well put together, wings are tasty and the breadsticks are the best in Bloomington. Prices are very reasonable.

People love Avers. I really like it, but stop short of using the L word. Good pizza, but better if you like the fancy and unique stuff. I like traditional pizza with red sauce and standard ingredients so it's just ok for me. Great breadsticks!

The pizza isn't great but it is pretty good. The huge cheese bread, though, is the best thing ever for a late night chow fest. Fast and cheap.

Aver's makes a great pizza and with multiple locations their delivery is fast! Much faster than Mother Bear's. Anyways, I haven't had a bad pizza here.

As everyone says the Cream and Crimson is awesome. Don't be afraid about potatoes on a pizza, just enjoy it! Also, the Cuban Black Bean is something spectacular. I mean again don't be afraid of beans on a pizza because they crisp them up and it is heavenly.

They use great, unique ingredients and you will not be disappointed.

Only ever had a few different types of their pizza, but both were delicious.
One of if not the best custom pizzas in bloomington, the cream n crimson pizza is absolutely delicious.
Their deals are decent and the regular pizzas are good. The crust is delicious on their pizzas, and the only drawback, at least from a college student view, is the price. Somewhat on the higher end when considering the other pizza options. That said, you get what you pay for.

This place is obviously better than one of the chain places but I would not say much more than that. The portion of the bread sticks is amazing though just not very good.

Breadsticks are really not that good. The dipping sauces are definitely the best part! The pizza was whatever. I mean, definitely better than Domino's but pretty below average to average pizza.

Mmmm. I just stuffed my face for the umpteenth time with some delicious Avers, and they have hit a home run once again.

As mentioned in a previous review, it is *very* difficult to get bad pizza here. They not only have the best variety of toppings in Bloomington, hands down, but every single ingredient is SO fresh, flavorful, and delicious! I have to say, one of my favorite specifications on any pie of theirs is to add garlic, and have it cooked well-done. Garlic + well done + ANYTHING out of their kitchen = an absolutely fantastic meal.

And for how much I absolutely adore their pizza, I simply cannot rave enough about their chicken wings! They are the biggest, juiciest, most succulent chicken wings I have ever had, from anywhere. This is not an exaggeration. And they don't just drench it in Frank's Redhot like a lot of places, either. They have a unique wing sauce for their wings that has the perfect amount of both heat and flavor. They are, admittedly, a little greasy - but you're ordering pizza, you know? This isn't health food. And I confess that I dip my pizza in the remaining sauce when the wings are gone. It's *that* good. They also have the best ranch dipping sauce, as well as a huge variety of others, each just as delicious as the last.

I could rant about Avers for another 5 minutes, easily. But as this is already quite lengthy:

TL;DR - Avers. Is. AMAZING. If you haven't tried them yet, treat yourself immediately. It's scientifically impossible to regret it.

Amazingly delicious pizza, and very decently priced considering the unique specialties they offer. Their delivery has always been really reliable - they show up promptly, and they've always been on time when we've pre-ordered for a party. They are great for larger events, and offer a discount if you order a certain amount (or at least they used to - it's worth asking about if you're planning a party!).

Try the Justa Fad, Parthenon, or Cream and Crimson if you're in the mood for something new. I don't think I've ever bothered with a regular ol' pepperoni pizza here because the specialties are just so enticing. They have quite a few great vegetarian options. Also, even though the Crazy Aver's deal is nice if it's just a couple of you, the cookies aren't worth it, so I'd suggest getting a specialty pizza and a couple of drinks for just a couple dollars more - MUCH more enjoyable!

I'd give five stars, except that we did have one very frustrating experience one night with a pizza that was made with the wrong pesto - they have a couple different pestos, and the pizza we got had the spicy pesto instead of the regular basil pesto, which made it taste very odd and unpleasant. I called to ask if they could replace it, and unfortunately the person I spoke with was very rude, insisted the pizza we received had been made correctly, and generally just made the experience very unpleasant for us. If it weren't for his attitude that night, this place would easily get 5 stars!

This is the best pizza and home of the best deal (pizza, breadsticks, two drinks, and cookies for $15) for your money. This isn't exactly a place to go eat a pizza; they mainly provide a fairly speedy delivery service.

If you are into a gourmet pizzas, this place has tried many new and interesting kinds. My favorite is the cream and crimson.

Very difficult to get bad pizza at Avers. Consistently a winner. Try the various theme pizzas, and their vegetarian pizzas are great, too. No long line, like Mother Bear's, no overworked waitresses slinging stuff as fast as the tiny kitchen can handle it. No botched orders (so far) at Avers. Only the good stuff. They deliver, usually quickly, and it's worth it. I rarely give out a five-star, but they're consistently good. Please move on if you're on a diet, there's no scrimping of cheese here.

Favorite Pizza in Bloomington hands down.

It has decent prices for great toppings and my favorite pizza sauces. I love several of their specialty pizzas but the Veggie Revival might be my favorite.

The Aver's Deal is soo much food but perfect for when you're partying with a group of friends.

I ordered the Veggie Revival last time my mother was in town visiting, she called her husband the next day and ranted on and on about how next time they have to get "Avers" because it was sooo good.

Love this pizza. So much. Perhaps my favorite pizza place. Just pick up or delivery. The crust is something special here.
All their specialty pizzas are wonderful, with the king-daddy being the Cream and Crimson. I'm only going to tell u once....order this pizza!

This place is one hell of a deal. $15 for a large pizza, two drinks, bread sticks AND two cookies.... Who ever came up with this business plan , and placing it in a college town, is a genius.

Let's talk about the food..... The pizza was, well, like cat nip. I wanted to rub my face in it's deliciousness.... I ordered The Crimson and cream, per the recommendation of yelp and the guy on the phone, and it could not have been a better decision.

Now only if they would pay for my liposuction I'm going to need after everything I ate, we will be best of friends.

What can I say about Avers? I love the place. It's one of the best if not the best pizza place in Bloomington in my opinion.

Back in the day my friends and I use to order Avers 2-3 times a week. The cream and crimson with wings and ranch was basically our diet.

I haven't tried ALL the pizzas there but from what I've heard you can't go wrong with their specialty pizzas. Wings are good to.

This will always be my go to pizza spot.

Yeah, okay, I wouldn't get their regular pizzas -- I'd turn pretty much anywhere else for that (Mother Bear's, Swing In, heck, even Papa John's), but when I'm getting a fancy named pizza, Aver's all the way. My tried and true is the Cream and Crimson. I've delved in to the Wurst Pizza Ever and the Gyro, and they're both good, too. The times that I've ordered the regular pizzas (I believe I got a pepperoni / green pepper once, a regular cheese once, and a regular pepperoni once), they've turned up a bit on the burnt side and a bit crunchy. So yeah, stick to their deluxe pizzas.

I don't know what all this talk is about the breadsticks being terrible / bland / horrible, though. Maybe I'm just super lucky when I order delivery or something, but I always get a baker's dozen breadsticks that are all fluffy, crusty on the outside while fluffy on the inside, with just a hint of garlic in 'em. The tasteless might have to do with the fact that I'm known for being able to taste even the smallest amounts of garlic, so perhaps to the average person it's bland while to my super sensitive taste buds it's perfect. Who knows.

I really enjoy the loganberry juice stuff, but that's a big hit or miss I know. I love it, but of my three friends I often get Aver's with, two of them hate it, and one of them loves it. So, of my small scientific group, there is a 50% chance you'll love it or hate it.

Best delivery in Bloomington! Best vegetarian pizzas in Bloomington! Mediocre-est breadsticks in Bloomington!

Cream and Crimson was love at first bite, but then I found a new-new pizza obsession in the Parthenon. I've been messing around with the Justa Fad and Beckon Desire lately, too, 'cuz I'm a total pizza slut. Or maybe I'm just fat.

Max it out with the Crazy Aver's deal, except with a signature pie (under $20 and you'll get two drinks, sticks, one sauce and a medium pizza). Or make your own gourmet pizza -- they have a ton of sauces to experiment with.

Bonus points for a southside location.

Fuck some Mother Bear's. The only bad thing about Avers is having to say their embarrassing special pizza names over the phone when you order. "Uh, I'd like a..uhm...justa fad?"

I recommend the breadsticks with cool garlic dipping sauce. There was a time in my life when I nearly lived on these.

Come on! They sell about 2-3000 of these pies on a normal weekend night! Who else is going to give you that much food for $10?? Every IU student eats this at one point or another. They even sell it for charity in the Business School and the students line up like its going out of business.

#1 - Try the Parthenon - its different and delicous
#2 - Try the BBQ Chicken - 30,000 IU students can't be wrong, its one of their most popular pies.
#3 - try it cold, it'll remind you of college :)

My mouth is touring all of the pizza options in Bloomington, and I think it found its favorite.

Fresh toppings, creative combination choices, delicious crust. Everyone freaks out about Mother Bear's, and that is really good, but this to me is even better.

Yummmmm.

Pizza at Aver's is fantastic. I used to order from chains like Papa Johns, but have come to appreciate the variety Aver's has to offer. The special (med pizza, sodas, breadsticks, cookies) was well worth the money; and I like that there's an online ordering feature on http://btownmenus.com so I can be really specific without sounding like a jerk on the phone.

Definitely loved the garlic sauce with the breadsticks --- competes well with Papa Johns.

Since leaving Bloomington several years ago, eating at Aver's is one of the places I look forward to most when I return to visit. Get a large pizza with 1/2 cream & crimson and 1/2 beckon desire and you will be delighted. I only wish their delivery area included the west side. As it is, I have to order it for pick-up.

This is another place I went while visiting from out of town. The gourmet pizzas here are pretty awesome. The BBQ chicken masterpiece is really bad ass. We also tried the gyro pizza and it sucked.

This is more of a gourmet specialty pizza shop (with an awesome selection), so if youre looking for a traditional pie, try Mother Bears. Avers is pretty damn good though.

Okay, so I haven't had Mother Bear's, but I've had Avers 2-3 times and... Mmmm. Some of the best pizza I've had anywhere. I don't know about the regular pizza, but the signature pizzas are such fantastic, inventive creations. Extremely high in caloric value, extremely low in nutrition, but omg, so very craveable.

Love the Cream & Crimson as well as the Beckon Desire.

Quick delivery and decent prices. The special seems to go up every year. At first it was $8.88 for a medium with breadsticks and 2 drinks. Then it was 9.99 then 11.99. Now it's 13.99! The quality of the food is consistent and they have a variety of rare and interesting flavors. Try some of their specialty pizzas that they advertise on their pizza boxes like the cream and crimson. Ohh soo fatty, but ohh soo good...

Avers is one of the things that I miss most in Bloomington. They have the most amazing in-house made ranch dressing for the breadsticks (which are out of sight). I've had a lot of the Cream and Crimson over the years, and it's never disappointed. Aver's Rocks.

The specialty pizzas are great but the regular pizzas are pretty gross.

I ordered a cheese with the Crazy Avers deal and it was so gross I only ate the bread sticks. The bread sticks were quite tasty though.

Favorite all time, all time.
Never had an issue with the 'Crazy Aver's Deal' for just $12 (including tips and all). You can never go hungry with half-a-dozen or so of bread sticks + a medium pizza (1 topping is good enough for me) + 2 drinks. Satisify small group meetings, especially with ladies around.
Yes, its contributed to my freshmen 15, but I still loves it. :)

Not the best pizza in town, but certainly the most popular. I personally, dislike the pizza -- the cheese tastes like they use low-fat. But the ingrediants are fresh.

The bread sticks, however, are for the win. They have homemade hummus to go with the bread sticks and it is fantastic.

My favorite pizza place in Bloomington. And if I didn't live in Chicago, it would probably take that title, too.
This place specializes in creatively-topped pies. My two all-time faves are the KC Masterpiece BBQ Chicken (add pineapple) and the Cuban Black Bean. I'm salivating just thinking about how damn good these pizzas really are!!
Check out all the other options--and I'm sure you'll find one that suits your tastebuds. Don't forget a cup of ranch dressing, it's some of the best you'll ever have.
