I have been here a couple of times before and have recommended it to my friends, but now I feel was is a mistake. Â There is better Barbecue in town (Country Diner).
On this visit nothing was poor enough to elevate to the waitress, but nothing was done right either.
We sat outside where the waitress covered the outside bar and also needs to walk around to the back of the building to bring food out. Â Â
The brisket ($18) was very small and had too much salt, taking away from the nice smoke flavor. Â The onion rings were over cooked (very dark brown vs golden) and the cole slaw while tasty was also runny.
The Steak Bomb was on the sweet side (from the mix of the roll and the american cheese?) and severed on a roll that became gummy from the moisture of the meat and toppings. Â Like other reviewers, we found the Kettle Chips to be lacking. Â Not freshly made, with a soggy mouth feel (it's been very humid in the area) and unevenly seasoned.
While it seemed we could swap out sides, we were charged for it.
We wont be back.
My fiance & I were there saturday night with a couple. Â We wanted to sit outside but there was a wait & we didn't think to make a reservation (not sure if that was an option) so we sat at the bar. Â We were able to get 4 seats next to one another at the bar after about 20 minutes which was fine because it was busy. Â Overall it was a decent experience where I would try it again. Â

We ordered the kettle chips as an app. Â PASS. Â They tasted like there were poured out of some store bought off-brand bag of bbq chips that had been left open overnight. Â Very disappointing since the fries appear to be fresh since they are served in the little fryer baskets. Â We were hoping the chips were cooked on-site. Â If they are it tasted like we got a batch from a week ago, they weren't even warm. Â I would have even preferred if they had been cooked earlier in the day and sat in a warmer drawer until being served but they seriously tasted terrible. Â I then had the pulled pork sandwich which was very good. Â It was a good size, properly cooked, and had a good bbq sauce. Â When it was served I made a comment to the bartender because it wasn't pulled, it was a big hunk of pork on a bun. I told her it wasn't a big deal and I could pull it apart myself (which was easily done since it they cooked it right). Â However she still had them make me another which was a nice thought. Â My fiance had the turkey burger which she liked. Â Their fries were good & fresh. The other couple we were with liked their food too but I don't recall what they ordered. Â They did forget her salad and it was brought partway through the meal but they were very busy so it's somewhat excusable I guess, we were sitting at the bar. Â
The ambiance was a bit disappointing but I think it was driven by the night & the circumstances. Â There was a group of 10-15 people sprawled across a few tables in the center of the outdoor space. Â From the look & sound of them it seemed they spent the afternoon in the sun drinking cold drinks. Â They were finished eating when we got there and leaving as we were probably after a 90+ minute visit. Â They were there celebrating a birthday & seemed to know the waitstaff & management. Â I am plenty used to bars, cursing, and plenty of other things but the size of the group the volume of the group and the duration was tiresome and made it difficult to chat. Â Detracted significantly from the overall experience.
