My first experience with poutine!  My friend and I have been eyeing this place for awhile and we decided to dig in for lunch one day - we ordered The Quebecer and The Good the Bad & the Happy.  It was pretty empty and service was friendly, casual, and quick.  The place is fairly small.

Food was definitely good, and portions are very generous.  Fries were just the right amount of crispiness.  Pork belly was excellent in The Good the Bad & the Happy.  However, probably a little too heavy for my taste (hence the 3 stars).  I think proportionally, it was too much gravy and curds all together, and we couldn't finish it all bc it was so heavy.   Other than that - I was pleased with our overall experience.

    Gluttony at it's best!!!!!!

There was so much about this place that surprised and delighted me. First off, it wasn't until I was already on my way and reading Yelp reviews that I learned how tiny it was, it wasn't kid friendly, and it was in River North.

At first, I cringed...ready to dig into some messy poutine, I certainly wasn't about to get dressed in my River North attire. Thrilled to find out when I got there, I fit right in. No wait even though it literally was only four tables! No high chairs, but luckily my kid hung out in her car seat the whole time and Tom (Hot Tom as we'll refer to him since he's sure to be the next Hot Doug) was an excellent host.

He shmoozed us, commented on the adorableness and well-behaved manner of my kid, he was funny, down to earth and an overall cool dude! We got the whole background on this guy's journey to poutine heaven and that was just the sprinkles on the milkshake for me. Which by the way, do not go here and not get one of the two excellent milkshakes. The peanut butter one comes out with a flaming marshmallow and the birthday cake has actual birthday cake it in!

I am so glad we got in here when we did since the following night they were featured on Chicago's Best. Now I know there will be a wait any time I try to come back, but as it is with some of the other establishments I've spent hours in line for....it'll be worth the it! Now if only I can get foi gras mousse on all of my food, I'd be one happy gal!

Having a sister and brother in law who previously lived in Canada, I severely missed my good classic poutine!!!  The poutine here definitely hits the spot....fries are crisp enough to handle the tasty brown gravy and cheesecurds....wow!  holy cheese curds!  They are huuuuuge and they have the characteristic SQUEAKY feel when you bite into them!  Husband and I only tried the Quebecer since it was Sunday....on Sundays they have an alternate brunch menu, but we will be back for sure to try the other tasty kinds on the week days! yum!
