This was our first time at MK to celebrate my wife's birthday, along with our 19-year-old daughter. Â There were so many selections that sounded good, but we all went with the 5-course tasting menu, in part because of the wine pairings.
Usually at even very good restaurants there will be a course or two that are so-so at best ... but not this time. Â Every course was excellent and every plate left our table clean. Â I don't know if the ala carte selections are the same size, but it felt at first that the portions were small. Â However, by the time we were finished we were all fully satisfied and realized the portions were actually just right.
Our service team of Marielle and Jesus was very professional - attentive and friendly, but not overly familiar. Â I suspect that all the service staff may be of similar high quality, but I would be tempted to ask for them again next time we dine there.
The ambience was perfect for us. Â The combination of exposed brick walls and elegant furnishings was very welcoming, and the elevated dining area with high ceiling felt spacious. Â The noise level was "active", but not so loud that conversation was impeded.
MK is our new favorite place for a special experience and we will definitely dining there again.
Fantastic food and really nice and warm welcoming atmosphere.
I had the red snapper which was probably the best cooked piece of fish I have eaten in recent memory. My boyfriend had the short ribs which were his best short ribs meal  outside of Austin, Texas. Our octopus and beet starters were also deliciously well done and highly recommended. And we eschewed wine in favor of some really excellent cocktails. The Mk anniversary cocktail was a favorite at our table. The service was decent but our waiter paid our table scant attention. Luckily we actually had about a team of 4 people waiting on us so we didn't feel his absence too heavily.
