All I can say is HAPPY HOUR!!!! It is the best with half off appetizers, and $4 drinks. Â I like the tostones, and get the chicken on the side since I don't eat meat. Â I also get the onion rings with a sweet dipping sauce(coconut), yummy! There is a portabella veggie sandwich that I get from time to time, grilled veggies, cheese, and it comes with a sauce that is a tad bit spicy but delicious! Â My peeps normally get the following apps: habanero wings, tostones, the jumbo crab stack, firecracker shrimp, coconut shrimp, beef empanadas, chicken sliders, corn cakes, &edamame. Â Chicken Tortilla soup was liked also. Â For drinks, so far I like the ultimate pina colada and the bahamarita. Â I didn't care for the Asian vegetable tofu bowl for some reason. Â Fam also loves the baby back falling off the bone ribs, the lobster&shrimp linguine, Wood Grilled Chicken, Jerk Chicken Pasta. Â I am just naming what I can remember. Â Overall, our experiences here have been fairly decent, food quality great, and only sometimes they might mess up an order, like forgetting to put my mushrooms on my tostones. Â I keep going back!!!
Review Source:Two of my girlfriends and I get together once a month -we each take turns in picking out the restaurant. Â Yesterday it was Bahama Breeze our waitress was very pleasant, and made sure we had everything we needed. Â Just a quick meal we all had sandwiches, two of us selected the Cuban sandwich. Â It was tasty but I prefer the original recipe without the lettuce and tomato (it makes the sandwich soggy). Â
Desert consisted of the Chocolate Island -which we shared and regretted not getting one all to ourselves. Â It was delicious, not too sweet; perfect. Â I would be happy just going there for this lovely dessert.
Went with a group for dinner and drinks. Dinner was great, our waiter was super great, friendly, and attentive (the reason this review is 3 and not less).
We closed out with him and moved to the patio to enjoy happy hour by the fire. That's when it all went downhill. Our waitress was so rude. We waited 30 minutes for drinks and she even forgot some. She didn't even put ice in my pregnant friend's water.
She was so rude and actually just walked away and refused to get a shot for one of the people in the party (who was not drunk, so it wasn't a fear of over-serving). They started cleaning up the patio and stacking chairs all around us before it was even closing time.
So I guess it's a hit or miss with your waiter which can go for everywhere. HOWEVER I can say that our drinks had significantly less alcohol after Happy Hour so I would stick with ordering beer.
I came here with a friend to celebrate her birthday! We were given one of those vibrating remote thingies and told that the wait would be 10-20 minutes (no biggie), but luckily when we were waiting in the patio, the bartender seated us immediately at a table that had just opened up. I felt bad taking the table (it was just the two of us, and the table was clearly for 6 people), but it was outside and right next to the live music (king of steel drums?).
The mixed drinks there are great! I had a mojito, which was extremely strong. For dinner, I got the jerk chicken pasta, which was filling and tasty (although I wish it did come with more veggies), and my friend got the salad with mixed fruits and greens which looked stunning. We got one of their signature desserts (banana bread with vanilla ice cream, toffee sauce, and a sliced banana) which was delicious! They even wrote happy birthday and stuck a candle in it, while the live music played a happy birthday song. :)
This place ain't bad! I don't know if I'll be returning since it is really far from where I live, but I'll definitely recommend this place for the late night happy hour (Sun-Thurs after 9) and the filling food.
Went this afternoon. There was no wait. Had the coconut shrimp appetizer. It was delicious! They still had the lunch menu going so I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken sliders with a Cesar salad. It was cheap and good. For dessert I had the banana nut bread supreme. Looked and tasted just like the picture. Great to share among two people. Service was great! Wish the view wasn't a parking lot. Will definitely be going back. Hopefully for happy hour next time!!
Review Source:I brought my girlfriend here for her 21st birthday dinner and I have to say there are things I liked and some that weren't too great. It took us about 30 minutes just to find parking, the mall where Bahama Breeze is located, it's always hard to find a parking spot. The nice thing about Bahama Breeze is that they offer complimentary valet parking, which is nice if you can't find a place to park. Anyway, we went in and put our name on the waiting list and found a seat at the bar, my girlfriend ordered a drink that was so good and I recommend it to anyone, who is of the age to drink, it's called a Spicy Mango Mojito. The drink was made phenomenally and it wasn't very expensive. We sat at the  bar for about a half hour before we were called. The one thing I was upset with was the fact that we were seated and given no utensils or silverware, also we were not greeted by our server for about 10-15 minutes (hence why a star was lost). Finally when we were greeted, we ordered the Coconut Shrimp and I got a bowl of the Seafood Chowder, both were amazing and I would recommend trying. For our entrees my girlfriend ordered the Jerk Chicken pasta and she thought it was delicious and very flavorful. I ordered the Seafood Paella which was also very tasty, it did need a little salt, but maybe a little bit more seasoning would do. Other then a few cons I definitely like Bahama Breeze and I plan on coming back for their happy hour!
Review Source:No more delicious empanadas that taste like samosas for me.
After tonight's experience, I know at least 12 people who won't return to this place.
I am not used to waiting to be seated when I go out to dinner. Normally, I dine at places that accept reservations, and apparently BB doesnt. Our group of 12 was told that we would have a 15-45 minute wait, for a busy Saturday night, that didnt seem so bad. About an hour and a half later, we were finally seated when the option of splitting us up was offered. Now, I absolutely understand that management cannot ask patrons to leave so that others can be seated, but if we were given a realistic and honest wait time, we would have gone elsewhere. In fact, my boyfriend went next door to Grande Luxe and although they were presented with a 30 minute wait, the hostesses and manager immediately saw if they had any options where tables could be put together or the like. Anywho...
Onto the service. After we were seated it was a good ten minutes before our drink orders were placed. We then ordered our appetizers, the conch fritters and emanadas. Both were good, but less than extraordinary. Once our main dishes were ordered, we waited about a half hour to get them. The place had somewhat cleared out while we were on our apps, so I dont get why it took so long for our stuff to come out. From start, 7PM til finish 10:15PM, we were disappointed.
Our server seemed as if he was on his very first shift. I could barely hear him when he was talking to me, he never made eye contact, and at the end of the meal he half heartedly wished us a good night, as if he was reciting it from memory and not from his heart.
To top it off the valet was obnoxious. No personality. No customer service skills.
Over it. I don't even want to talk about the rest of the food because I will get sick thiinking of it.
The shrimp weren't deveined properly, the rice was dry, overcooked and under seasoned, the best part of my meal was the broccoli and my drink because it made it a little more palatable. Â The server was nice, though she didn't really check in to see if we needed anything during the meal. Â It was disappointing. Â Not sure if I was there on a bad day, or if that's normal. Also, I'm not sure if I will go back.
Review Source:When my wife and are craving the Caribbean, we go to this place!!! Â Everytime we go they always have music in the back patio so we like sitting there....They have banging wings!!! Â Theyre like baked or grilled and have like some sort of jerk sauce on them...Never had a bad meal, and the drinks are slamming too!!! Â Make sure you have a designated driver!!!
Review Source:I know it's a chain restaurant but its one of my fave chain restaurant. I love the Jamaican grill wings its just so good. I love the seafood paella, pasta dish, cuban sandwich, I tried quite a few things on the menu and were never disappointed. And of course I ALWAYS have to get my favorite dessert, Chocolate Island. This is the closest place I go to when i am in Philly or in south jersey. I refuse to drive to King of Prussia for Bahama Breeze it is just too far of a drive. I look forward to go back to try out more new items they have.
Review Source:A-OK.
That was our night. There's a cheesy element to Bahama Breeze with the tropical themes such as fake palm trees, Carnival music, and furniture from what looks to be from Tommy Bahama himself.
I've been to one other Bahama Breeze- in Ft. Lauderdale. The ones in Florida seem to fit in better because, well, it's Florida, thus warm weather and beaches snug up nicely with what BB is trying to sell.
This Bahama Breeze is in a mall- the Cherry Hill Mall (which albeit is a nice mall)- but nonetheless- it reminds you that you are in South Jersey and no where near banana boats and Cruise Port of Calls.
The food, however, was good. It wasn't great- but it wasn't stomach turning either. It was above average and I was surprised by that. I'm not sure why- but I think some of the aforementioned points may signal some reason for it.
We started off with drinks- mojitos and caipirinhas. They were both strong- which is never a bad thing. We also ordered the coconut shrimp and the onion ring started (it's what everyone raves about on the other reviews). We didn't realize (our mistake) that both the onion rings and the coconut shrimp are somewhat twins in that they're both dusted with coconut, fried, and then delivered with the same pineapple dipping sauce concoction. We probably wouldn't order both again if we ever returned. They were good however, still warm, and tasted exactly what we imagined they would taste like.
We then ordered the seafood paella, the seared tuna entree (with basmati rice and veggies), and the shrimp/lobster pasta. All of these dishes hit high low points. The paella was flavorful but lacked the nice burnt under layer of rice in true paella. The seared tuna tasted good, however the butchering of the filet wasn't the best I've ever seen. It was also a tad more raw then it should be (for a SEARED tuna) but that's alright. I actually prefer raw tuna at sushi joints so this worked out for me but it may not for others. Finally, the lobster/shrimp pasta was tasty but a tad more salty then my sister likes it. Everything just has minor nuances to it that threw it just slightly west of its designed track. No big deal- BUT a big deal.
Our waitress was cool but a bit impersonal. It's a business and she understands it. It was also Friday night (with a line out the door) and I'm sure that also played a part on her jolting quality all  night. Despite that- she was a pro and always came by to check up on us- just in a detached way.
Overall, I think the night went well and based on the other reviews and the fact that half of New Jersey was crammed inside of here- I have to assume BB is here to stay.
The best time to visit Bahama Breeze is definitely in the afternoon. While they have call ahead seating, peak times still mean waiting a long time for a table. Going in the afternoon is just more relaxed in my opinion.
I've been to this location a handful of times and have never had a bad experience. The buttermilk chicken sliders dish is my go-to, as I'm not a big fish eater, but my boyfriend loves the fish tacos.
Hoping to visit again soon!
I always enjoy a meal at Bahama Breeze. The food is fantastic. The seafood paille is one of my favorite dishes anywhere. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. They have a ton of choices for cocktails and such and a lot of fun and interesting options for appetizers. The servers are friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Can't wait for my next visit.
Review Source:The first Bahama Breeze I ever went to was in Orlando and I remembered loving it!!
I always wished we had one in New York! When I spotted it at the Cherry Hill Mall I had to have it !! Â I ordered coconut shrimp with plantains (like a typical Dominican), every bit of it was delicious ! Â I got to taste the shrimp & lobster scampi - that is what I'm getting next time I go back!!! Â I also had a Bahama mama, it was pretty good but tastes more like juice to me than an alcoholic beverage.
This is my little travel to restaurant on the weekend when I wanna get away from my area and get something a little different even if I have to drive 45min. The appetizers are always top notch and my favorite is the Seafood Paella dish.. never fails to hit the spot and they usually give you so much you can barely finish it! I've had a few mixed drinks here when out with a lady and there alway's very refreshing and taste super good.
Price wise it's not cheap but not expensive you get what you pay for here everytime they don't skip on anything!
I've been to two different Bahama Breeze locations the one in Cherry Hill and the King of Prussia Mall location both are just as good when it comes to the quality of food the only down fall is the King of Prussia location is a tad slower to move the customers in and out but this also has to do with the general population in this area which IMO are a bit more laid back then the crazy New Jersey residents that eat like a marathon haha including myself.
Good place give it a shot sometime it's worth a try.
We love this place and eat there several times a month. As mentioned in previous review, do not go later on Friday and Saturday nights because the wait is long. Â Normally if we arrive by 5 we are fine. Â The staff is awesome and service is excellent about 95% of the time (seems to always be 1 bad apple)
Some of our favorite are: Coconut Shrimp (and I don't even eat coconut), Jerk Chicken, and the Seafood Paella.  As a side, the mashed sweet potatoes are awesome.  For dessert it is  the Chocolate island although normally we have no room left to order it.  This is not a 1 person dessert.  There is a lot of chocolate and it tastes great.
My have since they opened.
I always get the salmon bow tie pasta with passion fruit cream sauce
I love their onion rings (u have to share this it's huge portions) and the goat cheese dip before they serve it with pita bread but now they serve it with tortilla chips.
I hope they bring back their mango ice tea!!
They had me at Coconut Battered Onion Rings.
I like Bahama Breeze, I really do. I don't frequent it as much as I'd like as my mall companions don't favor it as much. The lines can be somewhat long, but for me, it's worth it. My food has always been quite plentiful and yummy, and not bad for a chain. It's a nice change of pace from standard mall fare, and the Caribbean vibe is great on a chilly winter's night!
Good original food, moderate priced, clean fun place to go with friends! I love the out side deck where they have live music usually a reggae artist playing bob marley jams!
The coconut shrimp are tasty and big, I say this because I've been disappointed with popcorn size coconut shrimp before other places. The Cuban black bean soup is a good starter but it's filling. The jerk chicken pasta is my favorite. My husbands favorite Is the tostones nachos!
Holla!
Seated promptly on a Thursday evening around 5:30. Greg was to be our minorly over-attentive waiter. For a place named Bahama Breeze to live up to its name in New Jersey, I suppose the only option really is closing diners in with a high-ceilinged, brightly painted facade of industrial materials, stringed lights, lighting reminiscent of tikki torches, and very few actual windows. It was my first time, but Bahama Breeze seems to verge on pure parody like Rainforest Cafe and should really just take the plunge. Waiters already wear tacky tropical shirts for a uniform; it's time to take the next step.
The mojitos here are decent, and they get stronger as the night goes on. And Greg must get a fair amount of ignorant imbibers to ask if we needed him to show us any drink items on the menu as much as he did. No, I can handle picking my own drinks and do not need to be checked on 8 or more times in an hour. Also, it's creepy when you crouch on your haunches, rest your arms on the table, and your head bobs just above the surface. You're a nice guy, but very close, kind of uncomfortable.
I'd advise against the lemon ginger mojito, unless you like a little alcohol with your glassful of sugar & lime juice. Should you choose to try it for yourself, make sure to stab the lemons a few dozen times beforehand. Mixing isn't the bartender's speciality.
Spinach dip, however, just might be their unknown strength. Lately, I've been searching for one to rival Hathaway's dip. And I have found it. Not only is it just as good if not better, but there is more of it at a lower price. Cha-ching!
At this point I should've skipped the chicken empanada "mini meal." By mini meal, Bahama Breeze means a very light snack--in my case three very small chicken empanadas that I promptly forgot after eating. My stomach also forgot after a walk about the mall and by the time I arrived home.
One word. Terrible. This place sucks. Listening to other yelpers who have been here make me think they do not know what good food nor good service is.
Scene: Friday night @ 10pm & hungry. Arrive at Bahama Breeze... Wait 25 mins for a table. Was given the option to sit on the heated deck where we could find our own table. While a raging fire was going in there it was cold and people had their coats on... I couldn't get over the irony of the raging firepit in the enclosed deck yet folks still having their coats on (and eating) So that was a no.
Then we finally sit at our table where we meet the least genuine (fake) waitress ever who takes our order... And we wait and wait and wait.... to receive this mediocre food that was a joke. The burger was not in my top 20.. Her shrimp was over cooked. Who overcooks shrimp? You'd be let go from Top Chef with a plate like that!
Needless to say, neither of us finished our meal despite how hungry we were initially.
Then she asked if we wanted desert. No. we paid and left.
That was our desert.
I am typically not a fan of chain restaurants. Â The service usually sucks, and the food is overpriced & overprocessed. Â Bahama Breeze is the exception. Â I love this place.
I enjoy coming here for appetizer type things & margaritas. Â Their margaritas are some of my favorite ones around-the little dangling shot of some type of liquor off the side is a nice touch. Â My husband is a fan of the rum runners.
My favorite apps are the wings...most delicious things ever. Â Jamaican beef patties are tasty, and fried plantains are great. Â
I hate that there is always a wait, but I have been known to sit outside and freeze, just to enjoy some island-inspired bar food!
For a chain restaurant this is pretty awsmazing (awesome and amazing)
I like this location better than the KOP one, I've never had a problem with being seated (fyi they do take call ahead seating as well). I always order the lobster and shrimp linguine never can finish it in one sitting I always have lots to take home. I also can eat their mashed sweet potatoes everyday if you'd let me.
Hip place for dinner or lunch, bright and airy atmosphere, feel of the island and if face the wall and close your eyes, it feels like you're at a resort.... Â Funny right? But true. Â
I had a pineapple and mango mojito and our party of three shared the onion rings which was covered in a beautiful batter of coconut. It came with a citrus sauce and a horse radish one which I preferred. Â Next came my order of buttermilk fried chicken breasts on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and spinach with a side of roasted corn and tomato salsa.... I think, at least that's what I called it. Â My girl received her chicken kabobs and rice, and our guest ordered the mahi mahi special. Â
Our food came out within 10 minutes of the appetizer and boy was it a lot- Â after eating through the humongo pile of onion rings which were quite sweet, eating the dinners were laborious. Â They were so good though, that we forced ourselves to eat at least half our servings.
Being gluttons for punishment, we even ordered the upside down pineapple cake loaded with caramel sauce. Â Oh yeah, the three of us had to down that together. Â Needless to say, we went home with lunch for tomorrow-
3.5 stars.
I'm really really surprised that a chain restaurant was as good as this. There was barely any wait, and this was on a Saturday night. Lots of families too, so it doesn't get too rowdy like an overcrowded bar in the city.
I got the almond-crusted salmon with lemon butter sauce (with rice and green beans), and lemme tell ya, those almonds and sauce were SO GOOD. The fish was a little dry at the edges but was cooked perfectly towards the middle. I can't stress enough how good the almonds and sauce were!
My husband got the jerk chicken pasta (ehh, could have used more jerk seasoning..it was a little bland), while our friend got the seared scallops with Peruvian corn cakes. Wow! These were also very very good.
Service was a little spotty. I'm a fast drinker and not once were our drinks refilled. By the time our waitress came around, we were pretty much finished with our meal. And not that I'm knocking points for this (just an observation), but her bright green nails were very distracting. They were seriously all I could look when she came over to take our orders and to give us the check.
Distracting green nail polish or not, Bahama Breeze has good food (especially the fish!). Definitely coming back.
My friends just moved into South Jersey and they were interested in trying Bahama Breeze, which is one of my favorite chain restaurants. I really like the habanero wings, jerk rub wings, calypso shrimp liguine and my all time favorite salmon pasta. The experience there have always been great and it's fun to go during a friend's birthday since the desserts are scrumptious. Also, the dishes are great for summertime since most of them are mixed with fruits that compliment well with the hot weather.
Also, beverage menu is extensive. I definitely like bringing friends to try this place.
Generally, I eat local and try to stay away from chain restaurants but when I go out of my realm and give a 4 star rating it's serious business. No, you will not get a gourmet meal. No, the service is not above and beyond. Yes, you will have a small wait. Yes, there are strange people eating amongst you (lady showing everyone her ugly baby).
You ask: "Okay, why 4 stars?" I like the 'comfort greasy seafood and more' taste. It's delicious the same way that eating a grilled cheese and soup is during the winter. What made my visit good was SHARING the following: (appetizers) coconut shrimp, lobster + shrimp quesadilla and (dinner) fish tacos. I love to share and get a taste of everything, with that said, go with a co-conspirator and grub.
stopped in Friday night with Debbi Faye and Babs. we had a few questions for our server, but she told us it was her first day and seemed a little flustered. I was worried but it turned out OK.
The place has a real cool tropical feel to it, maybe more so than the other one I've been to out at King Of Prussia, PA. There's lots of fake vegetation including towering fake Palms. The bar area seemed cool and dark, but unfortunately the two times I've been here they sat me in the same exact table, right by the kitchen and the rest rooms. are they trying to tell me something? The bar staff all wear cool tropical shirts, I wish I worked at a place where I could wear cool tropical shirts, oh wait, I'm self employed so i guess if I'm not going to court I can. I think I will! The point is there is a Caribbean vibe right here at the Cherry Hill Mall!
We had a Coconut Shrimp app that we all shared and enjoyed. It came with a mustard dipping sauce that I passed on, but that the ladies enjoyed. In fact, Babs was dipping her burger in it later on. We all ordered burgers which is a first for us. I wanted Medium, but got "well", while I think Babs got my "medium" while she and Debbi Faye had both ordered "well". We couldn't just switch though because I got a bacon cheese burger with American while they both got Swiss, etc.. Can't blame the server for that I guess.
I had a couple of Bahamian Sunsets that were tasty but weak for my taste. I could drink a boatload of these and not feel them.
I'd go back because I really enjoy the whole Bahamas / Caribbean scene, but the food and the drinks are just OK.
Every time my mother and I come to the mall, we come here for lunch. It is definitely one of the better chains that exist. Their drinks are their specialty. Their mojitos are really good and are only FIVE dollars! They also have a ton of frozen fruity things that are sweet and remind you of drinking in highschool.
Mom and I always start with the coconut shrimp which is decadent and amazing. I always get the fish tacos, and the tomatoe basil salad on the side. The tortilla soup is also really good.
The service here is really good. We always have a really good time at this location.
xo
Everything I've had so far at any Bahama Breeze location has been great. The service can be hit or miss alot of the times but its worth it. You get enough food to last you another meal even with the lighter portion.
Jerk Chicken Pasta is my favorite. Tostones and Artichoke and Spinach dip are great appetizers. Their onion rings are huge so make sure you're sharing or taking some home. You have to leave space in your tummy for your actual dinner.
Great atmosphere. You really feel like you're away from the chaos and in the Caribbean.
Just a note: Â When I write reviews, I'm not basing every single place on the Michelin Guide scale of greatness. Â I'm putting consideration into the type of establishment I visit (i.e., chain restaurant, burger joint, fine dining, etc.). Â No one would claim that a five star fine dining restaurant is comparable to a five star Belgian bar experience. Â The two just aren't the same yet they could both arguably score the same amount of stars based on what one would expect from an experience at either place. Â Know what I mean? Â
That said, Bahama Breeze is probably one of my favorite chain restaurants. Â I've been to the location in Cherry Hill probably 10 times or more. Â In the beginning, service was pretty slow and waits were long, but they have picked up over time and aren't as unorganized as they once were. Â
Food is consistently good. Â I usually alternate between the grilled chicken and veggies over greens and the jerk salmon or grilled tilapia. Â Last night I had the jerk salmon with cinnamon sweet potato mash. Â Fried plantains and a big serving of mango salsa were served alongside. Â Yum. Â Their mojitos are always the same; generously sized and with enough kick to give me a buzz off of one!
I hate this place. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson after my first visit there (the Towson, MD location), where my food was ok, but my friend's burger was burnt on the outside and rare in the middle - she'd asked for it to be well-done.
I've eaten at the Cherry Hill location three times, twice for dinner and once for dessert. Â The dessert is ok, but each time I've eaten dinner there, I've gotten sick....I'm talking about, waking up at 4 AM sick. Â The last time we went, they sat us around this hot pit, and there was barely enough room for our plates.
Keep in mind that I LOVE West Indian food, but this place doesn't even come remotely close to having good food - West Indian or American. Can someone please explain to me how it's ok to serve bland West Indian food?
Seriously, I don't know how this chain is still open.
