I come here often for the steak fajitas. Â For $10 I can have a huge plate of steak fajitas and a soft drink. Â The plate is big enough to make two meals and everything is nice and fresh. Â The steak is generally tender and seasoned well. Â It comes with 3 tortillas, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, bell papers, onions, beans, rice, and chips. Â I have a refillable cup from Baja that costs about $1 to refill per visit. Â My husband loves the burritos and we visit this location at least once per week. Â I love the variety at the salsa bar as well. Â The place is kept well cleaned, and we see people cleaning it the entire time we are there. Â Highly recommend.
Review Source:The first time I ate at Baja Fresh was over 10 years ago and I was not impressed. I thought in was the blandest Mexican food ever. Fast forward many years later, Baja Fresh sent coupons to my house on a regular basis and the items on their flyer look different than what I had before. With the really yummy looking pictures and the coupon, I decided to give them a try again. Â I was not disappointed this time. The food was much more flavorful and fresh. I had the Veggies Burrito and it was delicious especially putting on the different types of salsa on it.
4 stars for revamping the menu, clean restaurant, fast but accurate service, and $5 off $15 purchase coupon.
Baja Fresh was pretty good American-Mexican food. I wasn't a huge fan of my cheese enchiladas unfortunately, but my boyfriend loved his burrito.
The posi+ives
+ Good salsa with a good variety at the salsa bar.
+ Your get your food quickly not long after you order.
+ Service is friendly and willing to help you at a prompt pace.
+ The food is good overall. I don't think I ordered a good meal for myself.
+ The restaurant was extremely clean. I value cleanliness in a restaurant.
The not so many negatives -
- You have to pay extra for a larger portion of tortilla chips. Some meals come with them, but not enough in my opinion. Portion control and being stengy are two different things. Stengy is the case here.
- Two cheese enchiladas should cost $3.50 and not $6.50. You don't get your money's worth with this meal. If you get a burrito, you get more than enough and 2 meals out of it... I will know better next time.
I would totally come back. Next time, I will try a different meal to make up for this visit.
Food is pretttttty good. Kill for the cheese quesadillas & guacomole. Food is made fresh so it takes a bit longer than say, McDonald's. But it's so worth it. I also like their little condiment bar stock full of jalapenos & salsas, yum. Employees are polite & the place is always clean.
Review Source:Get me a bowl and a spoon! Â I'm headed for the salsa bar. Â So many choices for salsa that I just want to grab a bowl and eat them like a cold soup.
Unfortunately the Mahi tacos weren't as good as advertised. Â I had the lightly fried version. Â The piece of fish they used was about the size of a fat french fry. Â And the Mexican rice was pretty bland. Â If you want really good fish tacos I guess you need to head to San Diego or San Antono.
Oh boy.
So, this month I have decided to cut meat and dairy from my diet, as a test. Â However, it was a cold Friday night and I was not really in the mood for cooking - plus it's usually a night we go out to eat anyway, so we headed down to the car, chatting about where we might want to go. Â Get in the car...yeah, it won't start. Â We don't know why. Â I'm hungry. Â
We walk to to the strip mall - pizza, pizza, subs, pasta, pizza, philly cheesesteak, pizza, Roy Rogers, pizza...UM, lots of pizza here - oh! Â Brainstorm - let's go to Baja and I can get a veggie burrito! Â We liked it there, right?
We arrive and it's not too super busy, so that was a plus - I order my veggie burrito with "no cheese and no sour cream" - cool, okay. Â Wait for order. Â Wait, wait, wait some more...what could be taking so long...finally, our number is called. Â Hubby picks up order...and the burrito is COVERED in cheese. Â Like three types of cheese! Â And the chips...covered in melty cheese!
Okay, former me would be gleeful. Â Current me...what part of "no cheese" is this? Â I grabbed my plastic fork and knife and immediately cut it open to see if there was cheese inside, too, because I was so freaking hungry, I would just peel the burrito part off with the cheese everywhere and eat the inside...but there's cheese. Â More cheese. Â Cheese overload....for all things holy, it's a cheesetastrophe.
I hate taking food back, but this was insane. Â I walked up with the cheesebombimation in hand and indicated that I didn't want cheese. Â They kind of stared at me and said they needed to see my receipt. Â Okay, I walk back to the table, ask hubs for receipt and return. Â They look, yes, it says no cheese, no sour cream...but WHAT'S THIS? Â Somehow, they button had been pushed on the register that says, "enchilada style" which apparently means...sauce and CHEESE! Â I have no idea why that happened.
They were nice enough then, and indicated that they'd make me a new one, "would I like some free meat on it? like steak or chicken?" Â No, I said, trying not to sound curt, but I'll just get a bowl instead, if that's okay...then it's easier to see what's "inside" - I am soo hungry - I have worked in food service before, so I want to be patient here but I am SOOOO hungry at this point. Â The employee then indicated that he'd bring it to my table. Â Hmm, okay.
When it's finally delivered, I say thank you and smile and it's yummy. Â I am much happier, but hubs is pretty much already finished eating as I am halfway through! Â
Ahh, yeah, hope my car comes back to life because next time my money is taking me to my preferred chipotle...
