Dollar burger night is AWESOME! Â I had beef, my wife had turkey and both were so, so tasty and generous size. We took our FABULOUS WAITRESS ROSIE's recommendation and totally enjoyed the tator tops!! Where else can 2 eat a great meal for $15 (you pay 50 cents for condiments and full price for drinks). Note: please be kind and tip as if you paid full price.
Review Source:The best analogy for this place is to compare it to a really pretty girl with extremely bad breath.
At first glance this whole venue seems pretty cool. Good crowd, decent music, and the booze is flowing. I couldn't have been more wrong.
First they use an ID scanner on everyone, and I mean everyone. This makes it take forever to get in. I was carded 2 more times once I was inside as well.
The mixed drinks were weak. I got a non-alcoholic muddled peach ice tea and as far as I could tell it was Lipton's. Waitress took it back, the strawberry lemonade was not much better. We ordered the Pretzel Sticks, most were not even salted, and the maple butter dip was as solid as a rock making it impossible.
The pizza we ordered would make Mama Celeste spin over in her grace. It was nothing more than Pita bread would grilled chicken and generic sprinkled cheddar cheese.
The rooftop patio seemed nice at first, until I realized the only way up and down was to take an elevator. They don't trust the patrons enough to use stairs? The real kicker is that there isn't even a restroom on the roof so you are forced to stand in line for multiple elevator cycles just to use the can.
This place could only possibly be good if your only intention was to get black out drunk somewhere else first, then return there to hit on the opposite sex.
Bar Louie used to be the go-to place for a lively sports bar environment and entertainment in the south-of-Boston suburbs, but new competition from the many new bars/restaurants in the area (i.e. Toby Keith's, also at Patriot Place) is having an effect. The good news is that my family of 4 (incl 2 grown children) was able to get a table after only a 10-min wait this past Saturday evening.
Bar Louie is still a fun, energized place with a good beer list and imaginative food. The two vegetarians in our group were able to find several offerings on the menu.
The only problems were slow service (our waitress was super-friendly and attentive; I think the issue was in the kitchen), and strangely, two of our entree salads were missing key ingredients! The Chopped Salad came without the avocado that was listed on the menu. When it was pointed out, our waitress brought avocado out from the kitchen. The other salad was missing blackberries - which were even listed in the name of the salad!
Our waitress and the management responded very well, removing both salads from the bill (which we told them was not necessary) and bringing a free dessert.
Their response made us feel that our business was really valued, and we will definitely return to Bar Louie.
BTW, on Saturday nights, DJ music starts at 9 p.m.
