CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar

I actually had very nice service here. Our waitress was friendly and prompt and checked in on us frequently. However the food was just so so. My wings were about average. The highlight of my night was when the waitress was kind enough to let me order pudding from the kids menu. Score!

I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could, but can't bring myself to round it up to 4 and don't have a compelling reason why I can't.  I really didn't have any issues here unlike many others that have already reviewed it.  

We came to Patriot Place on a ridiculously hot day to escape the heat and checkout the Hall of Fame.  When you got to the HOF, there is a 10% coupon on the back of the ticket for CBS Scene.   We had never been and it wasn't busy.  We weren't looking for a gourmet dining experience, just wanted some decent food and drinks in an air conditioned environment and CBS Scene fit the bill.  

They have an extensive draft beer and cocktail menu.  Props to them for having a smoky margarita topped with mezcal, one of my faves.  Since it was hot and I didn't feel like having my ass kicked, I stuck with the white sangria, which was tasty.   The mysterious bar phenomenon of the second mixed drink you order being stronger than the first is in full effect here as my second sangria had to have had double the alcohol.  I would have thought they would have been pre-mixed but apparently not.  

On to the food.  We started with the lemon hummus which was topped with feta and hot pepper rings and served with cucumber rounds and pita chips.   We enjoyed it.  I ordered the California chicken sandwich and subbed mixed greens instead of fried for a $1 up charge.  It was served on flatbread instead of a regular bun, which I appreciate.   It was good and I enjoyed it, despite the avocado spread that was supposed to be on it was practically nonexistent.   My husband had the seared tuna entree, which was served with spinach and jasmine rice.  He received two large pieces or tuna and gave it a thumbs up.  

Service was quick, friendly and attentive.  I would go back if I were in the area.

High tech sports bar with mediocre service. I tried going to the bar to order 2 drinks. They said they needed the other person at the bar to see their ID. I know that MA law allows you to order 2 drinks, is underage drinking such an epidemic that you can't order your friend a drink?
