I'm really surprised that Barnaby's has such a low Yelp rating. However, this review is totally based on nightlife and not on their food.
After needing a change of scene from the boring places I usually frequent in the city, my friend and I looked up West Chester night life and settled on Barnaby's to start off our night there. It's not the classiest place (though I'd hardly classify it as a dive bar), but there's a place in this bar for any scene. Dancing upstairs (although I have yet to do so), a lounge type area, even a courtyard area out back with tvs to watch the games (if you're into that sort of thing). As for pricey drinks, my cranberry vodka only ran $4.50 (my friend's beer was more expensive $6 although they did have drink specials)
We went for drinks and I had such a great time, I went with another friend the following night. It gets crowded around midnight though, so keep that in mind!
Been here a few times and every time I leave feeling completely indifferent towards the place. Â With that said, Delco is filled with so many dives, that leaving a place feeling indifferent towards it might be a complement. Â The food is very mediocre pub grub. Â I've never had anything that I thought was good, but it hasn't been bad either. Â Drinks are pricey and the beer selection is completely forgettable. Â
perhaps its a result of living in philly, but I just don't understand how places like this stay open.
