WOW! I was pretty impressed by this bar. Its a small neighborhood bar that I stumbled upon. The staff was great, the drinks were plentiful (I had one stiff one), but I didn't get a chance to eat there.
Based on my experience, I would definitely come back just to get the full experience!
It's about 5-10 minutes from my job, so I will make it a point to try it out again.
Beaver's Dam is walking distance from my friend's place, so we would go every time I visit Denver. Place is pretty relax and chill! Drinks aren't too expensive and they have a lot of drink specials.
Pool tables and a single full stock bar. I went to watch the playoff game and there were plenty of TVs and sound for the main game.
Only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 star is because the menu seems surprisingly limited eventho its a Bar AND Grill.
Overall, Its a great place for drinks, fun, and hang out.
Came here to meet up with someone for poker night and despite the glaringly bright lighting, it's not such a bad dive bar. Â The wait staff was very friendly, the drinks were good and strong, and the prices are dive standard. Â I had a drunken blast and met some new people to boot. Â
They offer an average size smoking patio in the back and the bathrooms are very clean and well stocked. Â There's also a crap ton of parking since they're located in a strip mall. Â It's also worth mentioning that the regular patrons seemed nice and social enough so don't be afraid to come by yourself. Â If you're in the area, you should give this place a try.
I love the Beaver Dam! My friend used to live in the apartments next door, so every now and then we'd step into some casual clothes and trek over to Beaver Dam for drinks. The bartenders have always been nice, and the regulars are pretty cool and fun to chat with. My favorite thing about this place is the karaoke - they have a great selection!
Yes, this place is a dive, but by no means is it something to pass up (especially if you live close) Take this place for what it is, and don't come in if your expectations call for a different experience.
bad food, Â we gave them 2 chances...yikes...no good...we even had a coupon from <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestaurant.com&s=c5fe485af4df376130bee54f875814d79c4d7913e1258123b1206d2bdbf4873b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://restaurant.com</a> so didn't have to spend that much, won't be back
Review Source:I'm really torn. The regulars I spoke to last night spoke of Beaver Dam with near reverence. The KJ who was on last night was stellar, even though the volume was a bit too loud for my taste. Wireless microphones, big singing area, several screens, great song selection, too.l
However, I had some issues I'm struggling to get past. My friend ordered a gin and grapefruit. Waitress comes back, no grapefruit juice. OK. How about a gin martini with two olives? Again she returns to tell us sorry, no olives. Fine then, how about a Guinness? Great! She comes back sheepish, only to tell us they have Newcastle and Sam Adams, but no Guinness. OY. Â Finally, we land on Bailey's. Super. They have it. This back and forth went on for upwards of 20 minutes.
...and my friend was charged full price for her drink.
Admittedly, I've been there now a total of ONE time, so maybe I should keep my trap shut. I'd say it is worth another visit.
I love this place! Its a hole in the wall that used to be called America's. The wings here are what you want. The original buffalo is absolutely tasty and the dry BBQ rub is surprisingly good as well if you don't like hot. Â If you want something different and awesome try a dozen; six with Viper sauce and six Sweet Siracha, you will not regret it whatsoever. On top of the wings, the beer specials are pretty nice: $2.00 pints on football days and $6 pitchers of PBR every day. At the very least give it a try on for a wing night, you won't regret it
Review Source:They claim to have free range chicken on the menu but if you ask one of the employees if its legit they will shrug and tell you they don't even know whats on the menu. AWESOME!!
Last I tried to order said chicken, the bartender fiercely tried to dissuade me from doing so saying the cook wouldn't want to because the kitchen is closing...IN 3 HOURS. Uhhh. Turns out cook will make me this chicken but they don't have mashed potatoes. Maybe I am picky but who the hell wants chicken w/o mashers?! Just sayin. I declined to order anything. Weep.
They do have $6 pitcher of PBR at all times and pretty good green olives to go with it. The rest of the menu looks pretty nice and they have a build your own mac and cheese option but I wouldn't rely on them being able to make it for you or having the right ingredients. Sad face.
Will probably come here again because my friend lives nearby and there is booze. Otterwise I'd pass.
When my husband and I stopped here for happy hour, we both found ourselves constantly uttering the same thing. Â "It's not as good as America's"
We used to frequent, and i mean FREQUENT, this place a few years ago when it was America's Bar & Grill. Â At first when we visited the Beaver Dam we were happily surprised to see that it still, for the most part, looked like America's. Â Unfortunately, that's about all that seemed familiar. Â The food used to be fabulous, now it's just meh. Â The specials used to make us stay hours past what we'd planned, but now, we finished our pitcher and were ready to go. Â
I guess if you don't want to be compared to your predecessor, you should change the place a bit more. Â Instead, it feels like just a slightly different version of what was once there, and unfortunately, different isn't better.
Unfortunately many of the previous reviews for this place are for the OLD name which was Americas. Â It is now called Beaver Dam...and damn do they have some good food. Â
A group of friends and I spent the first 2 days of the NCAA tourney there and between us had most everything on their menu. Â Everything we tried was awesome! Â
I had been to the old Americas before and the wings were pretty good. Â The wings now are GREAT. Â They have your traditional buffalo flavor, but they they take it to another level with some unique flavors such as Viper, Sweet Sriracha, etc. Â I actually took some of these home for my own cooking!
Not only are the wings great, but the pulled pork sandwich was excellent. Â Ribs, burgers, and the best creamed corn I've ever eaten (side dish). Â I really couldn't find anything to complain about with anything I tried.
Our wait staff was very friendly and took great care of us. Â They joined right in with our tournament basketball nonsense and made us feel welcome as long as we wanted to stay.
I will surely be adding Beaver Dam to my regular bar/restaurant spots..and I live downtown! Â Well worth the drive!
