We love coming here for the live organ music on Tuesday and Friday nights from 6-9pm. Our 2 year old son LOVES coming to "pizza boom" as he calls it to dance and play to the live music and lights. The pizza is just OK. Personally, I'm not a big fan of pizza joints that do thick layers of toppings. To me it looks more like a giant round casserole that you have to eat with a fork. Â Overall, a great night out with family and friends. If you go during the holiday's get there early because it gets crowded fast.
Review Source:Well, the food is decent. I have had a meatball sandwich on 1 visit and stuffed pizza the other. The meatballs were tasty and well-seasoned. The stuffed pizza was pretty good even if my friend chose broccoli. Spinach would have been a better choice. The prices are pretty good. The ladies serving the tables are quite friendly and sweet. It was not a spectacular experience as far as true Chicago deep-dish/stuffed is concerned but it was nothing to complain about.
They do have a whole experience aside from the food and that is the live theatre organ! The young man that plays has a decent technique and his enthusiasm and knowledge of the instrument make up for some of the missing technique. He knows the instrument very well and is very good at orchestrating the tunes he plays in the true theatre-organ style! 4 stars for hims as well!
The pizza is fine. Â That's as excited as I get about Beggar's. Â Table service is slow and servers love to disappear for long stretches at a time, so if you need anything, you'll have to remember to ask for it when your order is taken first, or when your food finally arrives. Â Last time I dined at Beggar's with my husband, the curly fries we got tasted funny. Â We did mention it to our server, who looked at us blankly before taking our check. Â Later that evening I had an upset stomach. Â Couple that bad experience with really ordinary service and okay pizza, it's not somewhere I make a point of dining at.
Review Source:This restaurant gets 5 stars because where else can I dine while listening to Glenn play his pipes? Â That's right. Â Nowhere. Â You have not lived until you've experienced live organ-playing at Beggar's in Lansing, formerly Pipes 'n' Pizza. Lately he's been there on Tuesdays and Fridays, but you should call ahead just in case. Â Regarding the pizza, they don't lie; they do "lay it on thick," as promised. Â Oh, and their Halloween decorations are also fantastic! Â I make it a point to go there annually in October. Â Their service is usually good, occasionally awful.

Review Source:I do like Beggars. The pizza is good and the ambiance of the place is great. When my brother comes to town he absolutely must go there. He orders the thick crust pizza (not my favorite). I go along with him because he's my little brother and he doesn't get great pizza in Atlanta. I like taking my girl there because. It's like a tiny road trip. Downtown Lansing is cute as all heck! Anyway since I like sausage and she like pepperoni, we get a half and half. They truly do pour on the sausage! Check them out when you're that way!
Review Source:Beggar's pizza is delish. Â Ample cheese, decently seasoned sauce, buttery thin (but not too thin) crust... 'bout a centimeter or so thick. Fairly quick service. The huge location in a converted movie theater means my extended family on the east side has every other graduation, confirmation and birthday party at this location. Â And please, don't leave without trying one of those melty, gooey, oh so delicious chocolate chip cookie cakes with ice cream on top!!! Â Drool. Â I am beyond stoked that they will soon be opening a location in the city.
Review Source:Beggar's has really good pizza, but I had some seriously awful experiences there.
The first was when my boyfriend and I went there one weekend night. It wasn't crowded at all. We were seated right away, given menus, and within moments we were ready to order. But NO ONE CAME to take our order.
I think we waited about 15 minutes, then started asking busboys and other servers to help us out. Still, no one came. I WAS STARVING AND I HAVE LOW BLOOD SUGAR! Jesus, there were only like two other tables with people. How do you not wait on a table?
We ended up leaving and I even stormed out to try and make a scene so that someone would notice and be like, "Oh, hey, didn't anyone take your order?" But no, not a flinch. I even did a little tap-dance past the hostess table and some braces-wearing fat chick just continued to pick her fat hairy butt.
Another bad occasion occurred when I picked up a pizza at the take-out counter. This hillbilly lady was just a huge bitch. There's no other way to describe what happened. I tried to use a coupon and she acted like I just robbed the place. What a whore.
I love Beggars for a couple of reasons...FIRST...TONS OF CHUNKY SAUSAGE!!! Seriously...there not kidding when they say they pour it on...it's well worth the money...great cheese...nice crust...and a MEATY pizza even if sausage is your only topping...I also love there beef sandwiches...very good...quality bread...very good service when dining in and an hour for delivery on a weekend nite...they always have coupons available online or in the local papers...it used to be an old movie theatre so it's very charming inside...I had my baby shower there..VERY REASONALBE...it was like  $200 bucks for unlimited pop and pizza for 40 people including salad and an ice cream scoop for dessert...also...we took my family there after my daughters communion...there were about 15 of us...we did not have any reservations but it was a Sunday afternoon so they put some tables together for us...we had Soda...Pizza...Appetizer..and a cookie ice cream dessert for $100.  Plus it's good food!!! Very Family Friendly!!
