I have been to "Best Burritos in Town" a couple times now, most recently on Saturday for lunch. Â This place is your typical little bit of everything food stand, serving hot dogs, hamburgers, and of course, burritos, making the name kind of ironic since they don't advertise anything else they have. Â First time walking by I figured it was a Mexican restaurant that served the usual burrito, tamale, enchilada and such. Â Now I've never actually tried anything here except for their burrito, and I'm not sure if you can blame me considering the name, and it's good but not the best. Â I think their name hypes it up a little too much. Â It is definitely filling, as it is a pretty large burrito with a lot of meat, and it is under $5. Â I would certainly come here again if in the mood for a burrito, but wouldn't go out of my way.
Review Source:The first thing that needs to be discussed is the name of this restaurant. Their primary offerings are what you would find at a typical hot dog stand (beef sandwiches, pizza puffs, things that are deep fried) not Mexican food. Burrito is about the tenth thing on the menu. Â It is hard to enter a place called Best Burritos in Town and not order a burrito. You get the impression that burritos are so good, they won't even allude to anything else on the outside. Either that or everything else is so bad.
It also turns out that the name displays a bit of hubris on the part of the owners. The burritos are cheap, big, and slightly above average in taste, but far from the best burritos in town; Tecalitlan, on Chicago avenue, has this place beat by far.
