Terrible service. Granted it was noon on New Years Day, but we were the only customers there. Coffee came with no cream, waited 5 minutes for it.. Asked for water three times. Omelettes came fairly quickly but the bacon in mine was not cooked. It was otherwise good, but had no flair. Baguette was good but we had to repeatedly ask for butter. Sign on the window says they speak 10 languages. None of them include the word service.

The restaurant itself is located in the middle of Harding Avenue's commercial district. Being that it blended identical with all the neighboring restaurants, I really didn't think much of Bistro, at first. However, we were greeted by a friendly worker, so my soul was eventually sold!
The decor is charming. With the interior of the restaurant synchronizing well with a typical tavern you'd find in Europe (I'll admit, I'm gullible with these kinds of settings).
Me and my friend sat at the bar and were content with the service. The bartender was super nice and was really good at keeping a conversation going -- no upselling, no rush, no nothing. Just spot on service from start to finish. Since it was lunch, I ordered a burger -- it was okay, but nothing to be in awe about.
Overall, I'd rate Bistro as 4-stars.
I wish i had two stomachs. I went with my friend on a whim because of the decor, it's inviting and feels like you're hanging out in Europe. Portions were gracious, and we enjoyed delicious food and attentive service. I plan on going back next weekend and I recommend the muscles if you are a seafood lover BUT there are plenty of options on the menu and the server has great suggestions.

We made reservations for a Friday and thought it would be insanely busy but apparently their busiest days are during the week. It was nice to have most of the restaurant to ourselves and plenty of time to pick out server's brain for suggestions in food and wine. He was extremely attentive and sincere.

In my quest to find gems and such for all. I landed in SURFSIDE last night at BISTRO. The energy was good, the prices just right and the food traditional FRENCH cuisine. I had to try the onion soup, good size portion wth great flavor. The pate, steak au poivre, creme brule, glasses of wine and after dinner drinks that followed were all properly served and without complaint. Did I mention the live music featuring Kimona? OMG !!! All of a sudden the place became alive with soft yet inviting music & singing  and I was back in Paris on Rue Jacob.I even requested Alicia Keyes "If I Ain't Got You" . So go there, try it and give me a shout. BON APPETIT !
