Bartenders there were slow, rude, and completely ignored their patrons.  There is no reason for them to act the way they did, and to provide the level of service they did, especially at 8pm on a Friday with fewer than 15 people in the bar.

Average crowd that frequents the bar is your Frat boy/ Jersey Shore wanna-be's.  It get real greasy once 10pm rolls around.  Be sure to shower yourself in cheap cologne and wear your most cliche Affliction shirt if your want to fit in.

Imagine the horror I felt when I came to visit BloNo, expecting to waltz into Rhino's for Bad Music Night like the good ol' days of undergrad...only to come upon this ahem..."nightclub". If you're into smoke machine smog that rivals Los Angeles or DJs that think that only bass should go to 11, then this is the place for you! Oh, AND a guy shoved me out of the way to get to the bar. Super classy place! Seriously, this place was just one big migraine waiting to happen.

The only redeeming quality of this place was the nice bartenders. They made some kinda blue shot that had a little glowstick floating around in it. It was delicious and the glowsticks helped me find my friends in the club smog. R.I.P. Rhino's, thanks for the memories.

I enjoy coming here.  It has a vaguely Chicago feel to it, but doesn't really take the place of finer establishments in Chicago that I was used to.  Their tap is pretty decent, but nothing to write home about and their Whiskey selection is pretty much standard.  The open mic every other wednesday is fun.  It's a decent place, but it doesn't really scream anything too great to me.

    Me: I'll have a Maker's neat.
    Bartender: What's a Maker's neat?

This place...is ok....I think it's suffering from an identity crisis. It can't decide if it wants to be a sports bar or a night club. They have a decent dance area but no one ever dances because of their bad music nights...I understand the novelty of having a "bad music night" but it seems like they have one every night. Maybe if they played actual club music they would get more people in the club and dancing. I like the decor and the drinks are good and the prices are not bad. Their "V.I.P." rooms are a joke though....A curtain is used to separate the "V.I.P."  from the rest of the bar and its really tiny and offers no privacy.

In the end  Blueline is a good place to get your pre-game started and then move on. I wont spend much time in there unless they change the music.

I went to Blueline for the first time last week and I'm in love! I had a blast with friends. It really had a great atmosphere. I went on a Saturday, which are apparently 'bad music Saturdays' or something to that effect. They played mostly 80's and 90's music that was great. All that cheesy stuff that you secretly love to listen to. Drinks were reasonable and awesome. Most of them came with glow sticks, which is obviously a plus when you're out at the bars. It's like getting a prize for drinking!

They had tons of comfortable seating, a huge bar, dance floor, and CLEAN BATHROOMS! That's all I need! The best part was, whenever they played a song, the music video for the song played on one of their million TV screens. I thought it was pretty cool that they had all those old music videos stored up. I will be back for another bad music Saturday soon!

The BlueLine Nightclub is brand new to downtown Bloomington, replacing Rhino's. As with all new bars, it will take some time to find their niche but it is most similar to the bar that it replaced. However, whereas Rhino's was popular as a dance bar the BlueLine offers a few more options for patrons. In addition to an upgraded dance space and DJ booth, BlueLine also adds 4 VIP lounges, 8 plasma screens, and a large bar selection. With these features the BlueLine could be a good place to watch a game, host a small gathering, or dance off your drinks.
I went for the opening and had a chance to try out one of the VIP lounges. My favorite part was a light switch that, when flipped, summoned the waitress. I tried it twice and both times someone was by our table within a matter of seconds.
I also had a chance to try some of the food and was pleasantly surprised. My table tried breadsticks with marinara, fried pickle spears, and poutine (fries with cheese curds and gravy). All were delicious - especially the poutine, which is something you have to try if you like fries, cheese, and gravy (and who doesn't?).
Next time you are out in Bloomington, stop by the BlueLine and review your experience!
