What a great concept of combining a food place with a clothing shop. Now I can shop for clothes while my bf enjoys a beer. Brilliant! And they carry Fat Face Popsicles! Awesome! The greatest flavors you'll ever find: Apricot/Lavendar, Lime/Avocado, Mango/Sticky Rice!?!  I don't know who thinks of this stuff but I could kiss them. It's too fun. I have to try every flavor now. This is a cool place to hang out. My only request would be that they'd bring in more classic items of clothing. I love the trendy clothes, but I need more items that I can wear to work not just for fun.  There is a mix of vintage and new clothing in the clothing shop.

The moment you walk into Bows and Arrows, it smells of hipster. It's a vintage clothing store in the front so the smell of used clothes greets you. My mates and I came for happy hour and got a couple carafes of the white and red sangria which wasn't too bad at the happy hour price of 15 dollars. We wanted to sit out back in the patio/garden area but all the seats were taken. This place is definitely unique from your usual happy hour locations and I'd return, and coming from San Francisco, it's nice to drink out of jars again.

I ordered the BLT sandwich, definitely not worth $6. If the guy was friendlier, I might have been able to over look the poor quality of the BLT. I could have made a better tasting BLT at home. I forgot to tell the guy taking the order that I wanted my sandwich to go. When I asked him after he brought me the sandwich to put it in a to-go box, he rolled his eyes and acted offended.

The food service company they had before (Fat Face, I believe) had better food, better quality, and better - WAY BETTER - customer service.

The weird thing about the whole experience is the guy had NO personality. Kind of creepy....

No longer a fan of Bows & Arrows food.

Out for a walk downtown and stopped for popsicles with some friends.  One of the girls saw a shirt she immediately had to have, so good on them for having some fun things for people to pick up.

Two of us headed back and my friend ordered four popsicles for our friends waiting outside (she was treating them) and I pulled out my $5 bill to order mine.  The woman behind me immediately moved in front of me before I could order.  Okay, whatever, you thought I was with the other girl, I can wait, no biggie.  The woman gets her beer and starts to make small talk with the girl working the counter, both are making lots of eye contact, smiling, and asking some background info on each other.  Not the ideal situation to interrupt... awkward... so I just sort of stand there sheepishly with my money until the girl at the counter looks at me.  "Sorry, can I get a Strawberry Coconut?"  The female customer walks away with her beer and the employee goes to get the popsicle.  She comes back, takes my $5, and without looking at me puts the two dollars change in her tip jar and walks quickly away.

I stood there stunned.  I didn't want to believe what just happened, but it did.  I was shocked, embarrassed, and completely caught off guard.  I looked up for her to look back at me so I could say something--nothing--and I will never be that person to reach into someone's tip jar.

I walked outside, still bewildered by what had happened, and told my friends what happened.  All shocked.  One of my friends insisted I go back inside and say something, offering to go back in with me.  I didn't want to.  The guys outside smoking noticed and looked sort of concerned as well.  I grew more embarrassed and insisted we leave.  My friend (who frequents the location and suggested going) said they could sometimes be sort of snobby like that and she was sorry.

I'm a great guest, an excellent tipper, really friendly and considerate of people's situations.  I served coffee and food for years and know exactly what life is like behind the counter.  This was not okay.  I will not be back.

What do you want to do? Study? They got you! You can listen to excellent music while typing away or reading while being incredibly comfortable in any seat you take. You hungry? They got you! Nosh on some tasty treats.  I love the tacos, the BLT is to die for, I usually get mine with a side of soup, and on Sunday, do what is right and order an eggs benedict.  Atmosphere? Can I say that I feel more at home here than I do at some of my own friends houses (even at my own house at times)? I just did. I go with my 10 year old, and she loves the lemonade with the greek salad, she sits on the floor at the mirrored coffee table to draw, do her homework, or what not, and when her food comes, the employees are the best, they serve her right there.  The employees are stellar by the way.  Very friendly and personable.  Oh and don't forget, BEER!  Great selection, you can always find something to drink.  The staff are good at letting you know what is up about the selections they  have and also their selection of food.  The owners (who have set the standard for their staff by being friendly and personable to the utmost), have created a space for one to be creative, calmed, relaxed and surrounded by an aura of coolness (without being pretentious) that you can not find anywhere else.  It is my neighborhood hang out when I want to show my visitors a great relaxing time over beer and a bite, where we can sit and chat for hours because the atmosphere is so pleasing.  It is my neighborhood gem that should be enjoyed and supported.  Thumbs YES to Bows and Arrows, eat, drink, shop, relax, be inspired, and be merry people.

The staff at and owners of Bows & Arrows are super friendly and cool people. The store is always neat. They carry unique items - everything from clothes, art, jewelery, even perfume. My favorite thing about Bows & Arrows is how involved they are in the Sacramento Arts community! They host cool events. Best of all, I think they're really into it! ;)

Lovely place to meet friends for a nice Sunday brunch! The food was very carefully made and very delicious. Had the french toast sandwich out in the patio. Although it was a sunny hot day, the shades and the mist made it bearable!  Definitely will go back!

Loved their BLC sandwich with mushrooms added to it! Best I've had. Plus I had a groupon which made it the deal better. I would definitely come back even without a groupon. The sandwiches were around $6-7 bucks and they come with salad on the side with this sweet dressing on it. The bf got the chicken sandwich and he loved it. It had a good spicy kick to it and the chicken wasn't dry at all.  I also got the blood red orange sangria, they made it strong, just the way I like it! Great place!

Adorable place! The furniture is very mixed and colorful! They have the most beautiful patio! Fantastic for summer! The Vegan Sandwich is incredibly yummy! My favorite part though was the tea! I just got the iced tea and it was surprisingly great! Will be back again for their poetry and open mic nights.

It's weird that this place is in the back of a clothing store, but the food is tasty and the beer is good. Their garden patio in the back is a pleasure to sit on during times of good weather.

Their menu changes every time i go in there, but i always find something good. Examples of meals I enjoyed: Pulled pork sandwich, chicken & bacon sandwich, a strange chocolate dessert combo that my wife LOVED...

Bows and Arrows is a cross between a swanky coffee shop/vintage clothing store/mini bistro???  The concept is interesting.  Very "Towny" and different.  But we loved the look and the vibe!  Hubby and I walked in, a bit confused at 1st but then we started browsing the clothing and eventually headed to the bistro in the back.

Ordering/paying was easy enough, you pay for your food at the counter and provide a tip in the tip jar if you so choose too.  There were only a few options available, 4 brunch dishes: Breakfast Sandwich, Breakfast Burrito, Breakfast Salad and Eggs Benedict.  As I stood there contemplating what I wanted, a waiter brought out one of the breakfast burritos to another patron.  It was huge!  But I was determined to try something different, and settle on the breakfast salad: poached eggs, a bed of lettuce/mixed greens, asparagus and tomatoes.  Hubby decided on the breakfast sandwich; fried eggs, cheese and bacon.  He also added a side of potatoes.  We also ordered unlimited mimosas, of course!

Our journey took us onto the patio area.  With a water foundation trickling, mis-matched bistro sets and an abundance of potted plants, we felt cozy, at peace and like we were at home.  We did get a bit warm, the direct sun peaking through the shades was beaming on Hubby's head, so we switched seats when another couple left.

Hungry and sipping on our mason jars full of mimosas, our food arrived.  After viewing the burrito I ASSUMED the other meals would reflect the size and beauty???  What do they say when you ASSUME?? To our major disappointment the meals were tiny in size and lacked flavor.  My salad was in a shallow dish, only had ONE egg on top and was just plain pitiful.  Hubby's sandwich was made with Micro Bread, maybe they bought the bread from the Smurfs and his side of potatoes was laughable! We were done in seconds!

Frustrated and still hungry, we left and moved on to Streets of London, where we are sure the portions are for humans and not Smurfs!

Zero Stars for the Food, Five Stars for the Swanky venue: Total - 2.5

I've been in to browse clothes and accessories, I'm even hooked on the popsicles, but I didn't expect to be so impressed with the food!!

My friend and I shared a chicken sandwich  and the brothy mushroom soup. Both were DEEE-LISH-OUS!!!!!!

I didn't pay too much attention to the beverage selection, but from I saw it appears they have a decent selection of beers. It's a chill little cafe and the patio looks quite enjoyable, especially when the weather is warm.

It's a cold day, but we finished our lunch with a Kaffir Lime & Avocado Popsicle and a Coconut+Horchata.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place and I'm so happy I work but a block from there!

$7 dollars for red wine served in a tiny mason jar? Pricey!
$7 dollars for beer? Rip off!

I came here specifically for the Fat Face popsicles that I had tried at the Davis Farmer's Market. I had originally thought this was only a boutique, but found it to be a boutique in the front, a reading happening in the middle, a coffee bar/restaurant in the rear, and patio in the back. I quietly snuck behind all the people listening to the reading and bought my espresso fudge popsicle at the coffee bar (strawberry lemonade is also awesome). Then, I went to the back patio to find it dark, almost silent, but completely full with people not attending the reading.

My only complaint is that the back patio needs some lights. We were in utter darkness. Perhaps some white Christmas lights strung across the top or something....ANYTHING to illuminate the patio. Other than that, it's a pretty cool place and is open later than most places in Sac on a weekday.

The food! The food!  The food!

Oh my god, is that truly what they serve and call food?  That sucked!

As a former combat veteran, I have been served canned chicken and never, ever, wanted to eat it again, but feel like I did...

I ordered chicken tacos and boy did I regret it.  The chicken had a mushy, canned type of texture and taste.  I can't believe that they serve something so bad.  They said they smoked it on a BBQ, but maybe this was from the day before and they kept it in some kind of broth or was heated up that way.  Only it was EXACTLY like canned chicken...  Yuck!

The tacos overall did have some flavor, but not any kind of flavor you would eat and naturally think "taco."  It was like a taco made by somebody who had never had a real one.  Kind of like the meat seemed like it was cooked by somebody who didn't eat meat, if it wasn't canned.  They said it wasn't, but I am still not sure I believe them.  The only thing that had any flavor was some kind of pickly sauce.  My taco tasted like something pickled?  Really?

And to make matter worse, my wife ordered a salad with this chicken.  She got big pieces of cucumber, some cherry tomatoes, some pickled red onions and squishy chicken.  The only thing that had any flavor was the onions.

This place needs to do some serious work on their menu.  In reading other reviews it sounds like they have some kind of decent pork.  Why isn't that an option for tacos?  Not everybody like sandwiches!

I just don't get how other people give this place so many stars because the food I had was just so AWFUL.  I will give them some decent drinks and a good location, but the yard sale cloths don't add much.

If you want to act like you are cool that is fine, but the least you can do is serve good food.

I'm liking this place more and more (especially with the new kitchen offerings). They have some decent happy hour options and I love that it goes until 7pm. I had some really great veggie potato street tacos and a nice craft beer here a few weeks back. If you are looking for a good spot off the beaten path for happy hour, this is your place.

As for the thrift side of the store, I am a bit confused. It seems like they could use this space better. I'm not sure how much revenue they pull in from that section, but I would much rather see them turn the space into a larger live music, coffee shop, bar location. Something along the lines of capital garage, or Luna's perhaps.

Either way, it's a truly unique midtown spot that deserves some recognition for standing out in a crowd of increasingly pretentious bars and restaurants. I hope they find a way to make that spot work in the long term.

Well we stopped in for an event for Sacramento Beer Week 2013 and we had some food and some delicious beers provided by the Berryessa Brewing Company.  Overall we have a 3 star evaluation.

I would like to do 4 stars for the bar and the selection of beers. The way the beers were dispensed was a little problematic - I think because of the beer event and the band Alkali Flats playing the place was pretty crowded. The staff did the best they could to get beers out to the clientele in a timely manner, but at times they were a little slow.  Even so, a 4 star because of the way the bar was set up, the outdoor patio, the seating and the overall setting, and of course the fact that we had an enjoyable time.

I can only say a 2 or a 1 star for the food.  Can you believe 6 dollars and 50 cents for half of a grilled cheese sandwich and a small cup of soup?  The Greek salad cost 8 dollars and 50 cents,  it had 4 slices of cucumber,  a scoop of marinated onions with 6-7 cherry type tomatoes with cheese crumbled on the other ingredients. Are you kidding me? Maybe I'm a little provincial in my tastes and expectations on quantities and quality, but the menu needs work to get us back in for eating in the future.

I am not quite sure what this place is called?  Is it Fat Face or Bows and Arrows?  Whatever it is called, I was fascinated enough by the great reviews it has received to stop in and try one of their sandwiches for lunch.

I was expecting a cramped little restaurant wedged between racks of clothing.  To my surprise it is actually quite spacious. A large aisle leads from the entry doors past the boutique occupying the front of the building to an eclectic but tasteful array of outdoor furniture that is generously scattered at the rear of the building and extends to a quaint little patio littered with large ceramic vessels filled with flowering plants and an awesome display of bamboo.

I was immediately greeted by women whom waited on me from behind a small bar at one of the rear corners of the building.  She was friendly and quite helpful during our brief discussion about the extremely limited menu which led to me ordering a chicken sandwich and some tomatillo soup along with an IPA.

I wandered out to the patio after ordering and chose a nice table next to that large pot of awesome looking bamboo and luxuriously sipped on my jar mug of ale while I waited for my soup and sandwich.  The soup was pretty good but I was not that fond of the sandwich.  The bun sort of reminded me of a cheap hot dog bun lacking any kind of quality and the chicken was a little on the stringy fatty side and I was rather shocked by the laughably small size of the sandwich.

Bows and Arrows is really nice but it seemed more like a place for women to get together and talk over a glass of wine than a place a man would want to go for lunch.  Maybe I have just been spoiled by places like Mangia, Roxie, and Sampino's.

Bows and Arrows?  Where's Cupid?  I doubt if I will be back.

Eclectic, fun atmosphere!  Brings together art, vintage clothes, local brews, and good food.  Beautiful garden patio is a huge plus!

Been here twice for brunch - reasonably priced and sized.  Tasty!

The creative energy here is just what Sacramento needs.

The food! The food! The food! The location, the patio, the general feel - amazing.

Not a fan of the retail end of the business, but the people at the front are always super friendly and welcoming even though I'm on a mission for some grub in the back.

Nice place to have a beer and a sandwich.

This is a review of the food / drinks side of Bows & Arrows.

I came here because of a spontaneous whim to check out live music and have a few highlights for you guys!

Good beer: great IPA on tap

Food: Great vegan food. Excellent split pea + mushroom burger ( Actually the burger fell apart very easily. watch out for this!).

Interesting crowd: I could totally see that the crowd varied by night (that night was a local bluegrass band playing, so older crowd). I had an interesting conversation with some folks.

Friendly employees: I had a cool conversation about the musical offering.

I'd definitely would come again, but probably with some more contemporary bands!

a thrift/vintage store, art gallery, a bar, and a cafe. A little unique gem located in midtown Sacramento! Who knew hipster places could exist out here. To me, it reminded of something I'd find in the Silverlake neighborhood in LA. Beer and wine served in mason jars and art gallery events held on certain occasions. Apparently live shows are here too? perfect. A live indie rock band would work well in this ambiance.

I don't give many five star reviews, but when I do they are for places like Bows and Arrows.

Best small venue in town. Unexpected amazing small shows several nights each week. Excellent food for $.  Beers are top notch. Can't comment on the clothes but the patio is a very cool space.

If you're ever troubled by the thought that the early 90s will come back, enter Bows & Arrows, and rest assured knowing, yes, yes they will return and are in fact are back.

Don't let the prospect of jewel tones and bowl cuts stop you from enjoy the fantastic rotating art exhibits Bows and Arrows display monthly on the walls.

There are cute vintage and not so vintage items for sale, clothes, shoes, bags. They offer nifty classes and fantastic live shows.

Fat Face rocks your thin, dressy socks with a wide selection of savory food and awesome popsicles. Is there booze here? I don't even know, I'm too jazzed about the grilled cheese options.

    Overall, a great space.

One of the best patios in town. Across the street from Safeway, delightfully disquised by the boutique in front, lies a sweet little bar with some amazing food, and a great place to sit and hang out whether it's in the mid century modern furniture around the bar, or out on the hippy chic patio.
Warm weather begs for icy sangria at happy hour, and whether its white or red, the sangria here rivals my other top spot (Ernestos) and you can't beat the happy hour prices. Now that it's cold out, we were happy to find a wood burning fire place on the patio, and to discover that sangria tastes good in cold weather too!
I've eaten here numerous times and I think it's the cola braised pork sandwich that keeps bringing me back. Soups are phenomenal, and thinking back to warm weather delights- the basil popsicle I had last summer was out of this world!

The perfect hangout place. I've always wanted to look for one of these, where you can sit in a comfy chair with a girlfriend and not feel obligated to flirt or look overly scandalous.

Everything is hipster-chic from the glass jars of wine/beers to its boutique clothing. The patio is interesting too, with a tiered fountain that looks like it got lost and wandered into the back. All in all, it's a fantastic spot and I almost don't want to be raving about it on Yelp because I don't want it to be overcrowded =) the only reason it stays hipster is because not everyone knows about it right?

Love Bows and Arrows, it's like a little scene from the hipster show Portlandia.

I came here for the first time with the intentions of finishing a final with a classmate, perfect timing on coming here at happy hour.

Owner Olivia Coelho, used masking tape to cork our to-go bottle of Rose.  She claimed:

    A) The plastic cork the waitress used was $12 and too expensive.
    B) All other corks are in trash. If we would like a cork, she would retrieve one from the trash.
    C) Her liquor license did not allow for unfinished bottles of wine to leave the premise. Her offer to tape the bottle shut was a courtesy.

CALIFORNIA Section 23396.5 of the Business and Professions Code, Division 9 allows any "on- sale licensee" which maintains a bona fide eating place in conjunction with such license to allow a person who has purchased and partially consumed a bottle of wine to remove it from the premises upon departure. Section 23225 goes on to say that this bottle must be kept in the trunk of a vehicle. It goes on to discuss the procedure if the vehicle does not have a trunk.

What to call this place ... a mash-up of art gallery, restaurant, coffee house, beer/wine bar, vintage/used clothing store, breakfast cafe, open mike comedy club, patio dining spot, massage parlor (oops, wrong place, that last one's just down the block)?

Considering there's a bar, food, racks of clothing, coffee, art, wi-fi, happy hour and a restroom, why not just move for a few days and try it out?

Seriously though, I did stop in recently and took advantage of the happy hour drink prices, tried a delicious popsicle (no animal parts in these) and a Fat Face sandwich that was quite tasty. Meanwhile, my daughter browsed the racks and ended up with a really cool pair of earrings.

    Some menu examples:

Sammiches (that's what they're called here)
      BBQ beef, pasture raised $11
      Grilled cheese w/soup $9
Carrot chili "dog" (there's no hot dog here) $9
      Cola-braised pork $10
      Cubano - smoked ham/roast pork $10
...and something else called an eggplant "meatball" $9

If you're in the mood for something really different, I haven't found quite like another place in Sactown. Props to the owners!

Lazy Sunday type days are the best to visit Bows & Arrows. You get to peruse their thrift section, slowly working your way toward the back where you'll eventually find a nice, chill eclectic selection of cups, chairs, tables and benches.

The staff is always game to answer questions, and if you're looking at clothes it's fun to talk about some of their more random items. Definitely make sure to get a Fat Face Popsicle, some of which are Vegan, and head out to the patio to enjoy the misters and foliage. They sometimes host events as well, and are in general a great little creative spot for a wide variety of things, it's always worth a drop in.

Went to Nerd Night last and I gotta say I really fell in love with this place. It is everything that I love about midtown in a nutshell: creative, unique, welcoming, and a little gritty. Last night was your typical hot summer night and I cooled down with a mason jar full of yummy sangria on the beautifully decorated patio while being lightly showered by a cool mist.
I love that the menu options are all super healthy and yummy.
You can tell that those who run this place really take pride in their business and care about the little details, especially with the decor and layout.
I topped off the night by buying an awesome vintage blouse, and I have to praise the sales person that helped me as she was very pleasant and patient.
I hope to see more and more shops like this open in midtown and that this business continues to thrive.
    Cheers!

Definitely, without a doubt, a hidden neighborhood jewel. We came here looking for Fat Face artisan popsicle. And we found it right there, opposite a parking lot full of cars (Safway, Peet's and Panda Express) is this barely noticeable shop front, and inside a wonderful large space of vintage clothes, novelties, and a cafe. That's where we found the wonderful thai tea + sweet potato popsicle!! and braised pork (tender, flavorful, but not too salty which is a plus).

Two of us sat in a beautiful garden with very gentle sprinkler that sprays mist of vapor on us and the plants. From every detail of the garden, we didn't have trouble to tell that the owners and keepers put a lot of attention into tending the garden, plants, a rather musical metal bird fountain, vintage chairs, wooden furnitures ... beautiful sanctuary in a somewhat desolate neighborhood (though the Safeway parking lot is super busy).

This place is perfectly safe and great for an afternoon of conversation, chatting and just being poetic and dreamy

I came in here yesterday afternoon and I LIKE!

The staff is super friendly. Walking in, I must admit, I was VERY intimated cuz it looks too cool for school. But I was greeted by a really friendly worker at the clothing section.

In the back is the food area. Again, we were greeted by another worker. She was helpful and friendly. My sis and I just ordered a few of their popsicles. The atmosphere is niceeee. Totally chill and laid back. No noisy little kids running around or annoying loud mouth people talking. I want to come back soon to get a sandwich and read a book.

When we were about to walk out, I noticed a cute purse that I wanted to check out, but I held back cuz I just went on purse high a few weeks ago and spent $500, need to cut back! Again, the girl at the counter said bye to us as we left.

    I'm coming back!

Totally chill atmosphere, friendly staff, comfy chairs, and tasty food. It should be more than enough to lure people past the hipster vintage clothing store in front.

Although the prices may run higher than some other options in town, it is still moderately priced and delivers that delicious and fresh taste that sacramento food lovers crave. My initial impression was that this place was the love child of magpie and naked lounge. But after sampling their food, I think this place may deserve its own place in the sacramento food scene. A slightly expanded menu while maintaining the quality and charm would elevate this place to 5-star status in my book.

I have tried their grilled cheese sandwich (w/ soup and salad) and their spiced popcorn. I look forward to trying more of their dishes in the immediate future and updating this review.

P.S. The cafe portion of the store is apparently called Fat Face, but I'm sticking my review here because this crap's too confusing.

Great space, great food, great beer. I love love love how they take a mishmash of tables and chairs inside and on the back patio and somehow make it all work beautifully.

The Fat Face sandwiches have an artisan feel and come with sweet potato chips, soup or salad. The only downside is that prices are a hair out of my range, keeping me from eating here on a more regular basis. Although the meals are not huge, they are easy to split for two people.

My boyfriend and I can spend hours at here playing games with friends and simply hanging out without having to shout over loud music or loud people (given that there is not an event going on -- in which the place takes on a much more active vibe).

They support local artists and musicians and have a regular rotation of unique events that are either free or a small cover charge.

I haven't really visited here to shop for vintage goods -- I survived the '90s and prefer not to go back to that style of dress -- but from what I've seen, their prices are affordable compared to some of the other vintage shops in town.

Bows & Arrows is trying to be so many things.  It's hard to accomplish but they somehow succeeded.  The clothing selection is small.  The food selection is small.  The drink selection is small.  Though small they are not weak.  It's an eclectic mix of fun and tricks.

The first time I went to Bows & Arrows there was a hooded cape fashion show, which I watched while drinking a beer.  I drank an Allegash White.  It was delicious and if I were of the sort to wear clothes for fashion rather than utility I would consider wearing a hooded cape.  Instead, I enjoyed my beer in a mason jar and was being my usual yuppie self while surrounded by young women who were sporting hair of waves and bangs indicating some influence of Zoey Deschannel.

Another time I went to Bows & Arrows I enjoyed a fine reuben sandwich made with HOME MADE SAUERKRAUT.  (Sorry for the shout, but good sauerkraut is my blow.)  I also enjoyed a Ruthstaller IPA.  What sort of entertainment occurred?  There was a drawing class where a model stood and sat in different poses for some art students to capture with pencil and paper.  Good food.  Good beer.  Good fun.  It certainly helps break the monotony of office life.

Before I can give five stars I need to try their desserts.  If they do the trick.  Then I'll turn in my sport coat and convert to the hipster-side with a Zoey Deschannel-inspired wig.

Maybe I'm nuts, but shouldn't used clothes be cheaper than new ones? Gosh, it's a tad bit pricey here. And the selection isn't the greatest. Taking these drawbacks into account, I still liked what I saw available, I just wish there was more of it, at a slightliy more affordable price.

The girl at the register didn't seem to eager to help us either. Maybe it was just an off day?

They used to have cute vintage stuff....but now its mostly a place for art and food...which is ok, but when i came here  thinking i might find something cool to wear for Halloween i was a bit shocked....just a few things hanging toward the front of the store. People clanking dishes and eating at Fat Face...

i asked the sales girl if this area was all they had for clothes she said, "yes" I replied, "oh the old store had a ton of cool clothes..thats a bummer" she said, "we are getting into more of the art"....then she just kinda looked at me with a semi-snotty blank stare...I left and I dont think i'll be back.

Part vintage shop, part art space, part cafe - Bows & Arrows is all those things. What a surprise to also find the writeup in Sunset Magazine too! I think it was the October or September 2011 issue.

Having been here three times already, finally tried out the happy hour, from 4:00 - 7:00. You get a choice of three items for $4: sangria, chips & homemade salsa or the bruschetta. Personally, I recommend their popcorn. For $3, you get a small paper bag filled with curry-flavored crunchiness.

Their regular menu serves up various beers and wines. They also feature a wine of the month. This month was a white French varietal from the area bordering Switzerland. As other Yelpers have mentioned, you can also get popsicles (!!!) and sandwiches.

Their outside patio is a hodge podge of seating options complete with lots of potted plants, a fountain and the Light Rail that whizzes by every so often. Kind of gives it that urban edge, like you're hanging out in someone's backyard which backs onto the train tracks.

Inside, my favorite table is the old fashioned Singer table: two pedal-style sewing machines missing the sewing components but is flanked on top with a slab of wood. Unique, while recycling classic pieces.

So glad Sacramento offers up a refreshing alternative to chains. I hope it's here to stay. Have a beer here and support local businesses!
